[Solved]Magisk Rooted U11+ everytime rebooted needs to pattern unlock to decryp... - HTC U11+ Questions & Answers

Thanks to @cameljockey1, and the solution is located #4 post.
Hi,
Newbie to Android 7+ and Magisk, I'm sorry if it is an common thing but I still didn't get any clue after some search.
I found that after installing Magisk, I'm prompted to do the pattern unlock everytime when it reboots before Android booting is ready.
I would like to know if there is a way to get rid of the thing and keep my phone encrypted.
Thank you.

My phone is not rooted and each time I reboot I need to do the pattern unlock. It's due to encryption not to root.
I don't think you can get rid of this.

You sure you get Android 7 from U11+ ?

Setting- security and location- screen lock and change your pattern and it will ask if you want to have it for device reboot. Click no.

ok let me make it clear. I mean it is the first android 7+ device for me, since I had <= android 6 devices before. so compares to that fact, I wrote it is my first Android 7+.

Thank you, I thought turning on that option was about to keep locked after rebooting, which I was wrong.

[Q] How can I make my phone run less sluggishly?

Hey
I have HTC desire s, which is pretty old (i'v had about three years now). In recent months it has started to run more and more sluggishly. After I re-downloaded a game that I played when I first got the phone I realized that my phone had experienced some power-loss, as the game that used to run smoothly now lagged. It wasn't so big deal as I do not play games with my phone so often, but now it feels like apps that I use and pretty much need like whatsapp and internet browser are also starting to lag more.
So now I am trying to find some way to restore my phone do the state it was when I first got it.
I have done almost everything that you can do with an un-rooted phone. (Ram,cache,apps...) I also did "factory reset" which actually seemed to help for a while, but soon the problem came back.
I tried also rooting my phone with super-one-click, but even I followed instructions "perfectly" and the app said my phone is rooted it actually wasn't.
I can try it again if it's necessary.
Thank you for Answers and I apologize for being a noob.

The toolkit provides steps to "Unlock bootloader" via HTCdev.com. You need it unlocked to root or flash a custom recovery.
PLS read exactly and keep in mind that unlocking the bootloader will reset your phone to stock. MAKE SURE you safe ALL your PERSONAL DATA before you proceed.

When I press install HTC drivers a mesage pops up saying that it will install them, but after that nothing happens. I looked from youtube that a install wizard should pop up, but nothing happens. So what should I do as I think that those drivers aren't being installed.

You connected your phone in "fastboot" mode?
It toolkit fails (its important that you haven't change the folder name of the toolkit!)
We can do manually --> Go to HTC dev --> http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/ select "All other supported models" you also will have to register.
and you need this adb/fastboot http://d-h.st/KIP
My bootloader should now be unlocked

[Q] Rooting an old original Xoom

Hi All
I have a 1st edition Xoom, WiFi, that I bought in March of 2011. I never rooted it before but am considering doing it now if it is still feasible. It looks like my current Android version is 4.1.2.
One thing - due to my work email, they made me encrypt the tablet. I hated it the moment I did it because it slowed it down quite a bit. But its done and there does not seem to be an option to un do it, unless rooting it will. I am ok with that as I do not need that email on this device. But is rooting an option with an encrypted tablet? Is it the same process? Does it change anything?
So - my questions are:
Is it still feasible to root this tablet?
Is this page this the latest/greatest Root for the Xoom?
[**]http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1010568
What version of Android would I have once done?
Any other factors I need ot consider?
I rooted my phone a few years ago and it was straight forward. But I do not want to end up with a 10.1 inch brick.
Thanks.

Its been a few years so its fuzzy. I think it was in the settings under security. But at the time I followed some directions. It took over night to do. Now when I go to settings I see the encryption option but it does nothing.
Un. Encryption is not the reason I want to root. The device is slow and I hear I may be able to speed it up a bit. Plus, there is a game that crashed the tablet because of the tegra 2 chip and k read some steps on making a change that prevents the crash.

May I add that rooting will need an unlocked bootloader which will wipe /data so you'd loose everything

I am ok with that. I was just trying to figure out if this older tablet that was encrypted can be rooted. And, if the thread I referenced was the latest still. It is a couple years old so I was not sure that meant the android OS was old or updated or if there was a newer thread somewhere I can't find.

Are you familiar with fastboot/adb?
you need to unlock your bootloader using
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
then you need to flash a custom recovery, I suggest this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1782235
use the command:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
then
Code:
fastboot reboot
upon rebooting when you see the motorola logo, wait about 2 seconds, then you need to press the volume down button, then volume up to select android recovery.
Once in recovery you will need to flash this file to gain root:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30464067&postcount=408
After all this you will have Android 4.1.2 with a custom recovery and root access, from now on it will be easy to swap between ROMs, android versions etc.
Always make a backup

Thanks! I will give this a try. A few other questions around this:
1. Will the device still be encrypted once this is done?
2. If not - do you know if it is possible to fool the mail program into thinking it is still encrypted?
Thanks!

The device will no longer be encrypted, all data is wiped anyway.
You can re-encrypt the device though by going to settings>security>encryption>encrypt tablet

Thanks! But if I go this route I won't want it encrypted again. I was just curious if being rooted there was a way to fool it. Sort of a best of both worlds thing. But no more encryption for me again. It killed this thing the first time.

Why bother? The OPO has an easily unlockable bootloader, so you can root, install a custom recovery and ROMs if you so desire.

Fair enough, you could try it and if it works install titanium backup and backup your apps. Then it would be slightly less hassle to unlock the bootloader. I'm not so sure of the outcome if it doesn't work properly or go wrong, but worse case scenario you may need to wipe to sort your phone out anyway.
I know man, I know
I was simply hoping to find anyone who had already used to get some feedback: I really have no time to restart from zero on the phone, in case anything goes wrong with titanium, helium or anything else.
In addition, my phone works like a charm, have no issues at all: I'd rather not touch it

What about using fastboot to root? You dont need to unlock and wipe, see the below posts and thread for info. Safer than using an 'exploit'.

King doesn't work. The only way to root is by unlocking the bootloader. It's best to research a phone when you're buying it, then you'd just unlock the bootloader before committing data to the device.

TWRP Decryption password after 2/2018 update

I'm on a Pixel 2 and I sideloaded the February 2018 security update. I tried to install Magisk again by using "fastboot boot twrp-image.img". I've tried all the versions of TWRP available on their site (twrp.me)
I get into TWRP and enter in my pin to decrypt the phone, which I've always used. TWRP says incorrect password. This is the first time I've ever gotten this.
Anybody else having the same issue, or tips to fix? Thanks!
Yes, it's been mentioned a few times. Simply remove the password lock from your phone before booting into recovery, then add your password back after you're done flashing.

OnePlus 7 stuck in "Your device is corrupt it can't be trusted" after locking the boo
Help. I've made a big mistake. I can only access the Bootloader. Recovery mode is not accessible.
As with the 7 Pro, I didn't like the standard 7 and decided to return it. Thought it would be a good idea to lock the bootloader before doing so.
OnePlus support won't help me and they are telling me that I can't return the device anymore. "Repair is the only option now" even though I'm in the 30 days return window.

I've looked through it but couldn't find anything. Sorry, I am extremely stressed out as tomorrow I am supposed to return this phone and I want to make sure that it passes inspection.
So, I did the following:
- Used the unbrick tool which lead me to HydrogenOS
- Installed the latest OxygenOS version on top of it
- Did a factory reset, and so far everything looks to be in working order.
Am I missing anything here? Are there any possible changes done to the device so that it won't pass inspection?
Sorry again for being so annoying...

So if OxygenOS works and you also did a factory reset, your device should be fine. Check bootloader status. But it should be locked.
