It might not work because there is no smart cover option whatsoever in settings. At least I have not found any.
Try using some smart cover app from Play Store.

Hallo to all, this is the first time I write here and I hope you can help me.
I am an happy owner of Honor 6 L04 version (European) but I have a problem with the photos: every time I use flash (inside or outside in the dark), the photo have a white halo on bottom and on the side. It's an effect like a smoke on the photo, so the flash is unhelpful, rather it ruins the photos.
I think that the problem is a too much strong light, but I cannot imagine that a wonderful and well-finished smartphone like this has a so evident similar problem.
Do you have the same problem? And have you found a solution?
Thanks a lot to anyone helps me and excuse me for my English.

Do you have a case or back cover on your phone?
The problem might be the case cutout is too close to the flash/rear screen guard is improperly fitted.

Thanks for the reply. I have the same problem also without any case.
Don't you have the same problem on your device? Are the photos that you make in a dark location clear?

Yes they are clear. Why don't you post a couple of these photos. Might give us a better idea.

Only genuine samsung will work as it has a coded chip the phone reads via nfc
Sent from my SM-G920F using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Really?? Damn..they told me at the store that it would work it just had to be configurated

My samsung s-view case works without the nfc function turned on. I use this case daily and don't have any issues. If the s-view case has nfc, what is it used for? Magnet on the screen flap turns my screen on and off...
samsung s5 s view cover
Hi everyone,
I have a genuine s view cover that used to work perfectly.
I took it off about a month ago and put it back on and now it doesn't work.
Any ideas on how to fix it?
Thanks
The S View cover can't be "configured", it either works or it doesn't. It should just work though my genuine Samsung one has been a bit hit and miss. Try rebooting / reflashing firmware if it doesn't work. Mine works ok 99% of the time then every now and again "accessories" don't show up in settings and it doesn't work....annoying...If a shop tells you it needs configuring take the cover back for a refund as their statement is a crock of s**t....
I have the same problem. The cover was working just fine until yesterday for more than 2 months now. But from yesterday it just stopped working. Is there any app to track what changes i have made at the phone the last days for example? I believe it is software issue..
Broken chip inside the cover.
Hello, my problem is this:
I have to protect my Galaxy S6 Original flip cover from Samsung.
The screen turns on and off by itself when you open or close the flip cover.
(this is correct).
But I want to disable this function in my galaxy s6.
It's posible?
I have a Galaxy s6 32gb .
With firmware G920FXXU2COH2 base.
not root (for the moment).
Don't use the flip cover then.

If you know a bit of programming you should be able to find the class or xml that defines the s view event when the flip cover is closed. Just something to get you started.

Thanks not be programmed, so if any programmer does not help me, I'm no solution.
I'll wait if you have fixed in the future.
Hi.
Just bought a original flip cover for my Note 2 . But it does not wake or turn of the screen.
Am i missing something in settings. Im on Xiaomi.EU 5.10.8 Weekly.
It sure has sensor that turn of screen when i hold it to my ear, so it should be possible (?)
After changing the launcher i really begin to like this phone.
Thanks
Knievel
There aren't settings about it. The prossimity sensor work while you are phoning, it turn off the screen when is near the ear.
For change the launcher go to Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Launcher
~ Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Prime ~

Nope. I am not able to wake/turn of screen with flip cover so far.
Google Now launcher gives me the stock feeling i like, with app drawer etc.
And still have a lot of useful stuff in Miui os.
Had to flash Chainfires Supersu to change launcher and make it stick. Some trouble with permissions.
Did also uninstall a few annoying Chinese apps before i was happy with it.
Thanks
Knievel
nice cover.
Try to install any smart cover apps from google play..
hope it work.
Hello,
Can you please tell me where do you buy it? Can you please share à link?
Thank you
This cover claims it has auto-sleep/wakeup and even has video to demo that http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-...For-Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-2-With/32506925639.html
No idea if it actually works

Hi.
There is a lot of apps that make you able to wake/turn off screen with flip cover.
But all of them uses to much battery, and screen turn off when its not supposed to.
This flip cover seems to clearly have an app involved.
The main reason for me to have this function is to save battery.
Both my Nexus 5 and 6 have flip covers that uses some kind of magnetic function.
Maybe this phone doesent have the right hardware and has to use the proximity sensor.
Just my guess.
Thanks
Knievel
Yes the flip cover uses the magnetic sensor and a custom app.
I don't see why the magnetic sensor should use less battery than the proximity/light ones...
So I will buy a normal flip case.
Thank you.
I dont think this phone has magnetic sensor
No magnetic sensor present in the RedMi Note 2
The Redmi Note 2 must have a magnetic sensor, because it's working with the magnetic button of my ColorCross 2 virtual reality headset (I've taken this one because it's an open one, to prevent over-heating during games, but it's not the topic) on SwivelGun game (but it's better with à mini bluetooth gamepad).
To say, RN2 must have a magnetic sensor...

The magnetic sensor is like a mechanical switch, it doesn't need to be powered, but the proximity sensor needs to be powered to work...
Waiting for the same
I've enabled the required settings but my mobile does not respond to the (normal, without magnet) cover. I wished it used the proximity sensor, as done while calling.

I have been using "Gravity Screen - On/Off" app for years with my RN2 flip cover, it works like a charm.
I can recommend WaveUp.
It's free and open source; it works on Redmi Note 2 (at least with CyanogenMod 12.1) and you can install it via F-Droid or Play Store.
Hi
I am enable flip cover mode but by mobile restart now and it is now lock also not open pls help me.
Hey guys!
Unfortunately, my Honor 8 battery cover broke a few weeks ago. Now I've received my replacement part.
There are a lot of dissassebly-guides around, but none of them shows how to remove this module from the battery cover.
Can anybody tell me how the fingerprint sensor is connected to the battery cover?
According to this picture it seems that it is fixed just by adhesive:
http://www.myfixguide.com/manual/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Huawei-Honor-8-Teardown-10.jpg
So I am not sure how easy it will be to get it out (and in again).
Any guide or ideas on that? Maybe anyone of you already had to deal with it.
Thank you.

if u r not sure , dont do it ur self , u might brick something . give to pro of service center .
Thank you for your answers.
Well, I understand your advices, but this is not the first device I repair. I have experience in fixing broken displays, ect.
Anyhow, before I start, I always want to get an insight of what to expect. For honor 8 it seems quite easy to remote or change the battery cover, the only uncertain factor is how to swap the fingerprint sensor, because I've never dealed with something like that before.
So I appreciate any information on getting the fingerprint module from one battery cover to the other. If there are high chances to brick it while removing, I would buy a replacement module beforehand just to be save.
Thanks.
