G935PVPU5BQL1 update 12/27/2017 - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Guides, News, & Disc

Just got a new update and the one thing I noticed so far is that they changed the font for the weather widget. It looks weird to me now and I wish I could change it back.

I love how after after new software upgrade, my phone feels fast again and screen on time recovers. But after another week on this rom, it will probably feel laggy and have poor battery life.

I got this today. It was a pretty big update. Don't know what it included, but it seems it was more than just the December security update. So far I haven't noticed anything obviously different, nor any issues.

Anyone know if the new update removes the Hotspot hack?

[Q] Software Update?

Asus just pushed an update to my Transformer overnight -- anyone else get it? It's not the V8.2.3.9 as I had already installed that update.
No indication on Asus's site of a new update so I'm curious about it....
The 2.3.12 beta some people have been getting, perhaps?
Build is 8.2.3.13-20110511
Asus has released a 8.2.3.13 update that includes dock firmware EP101-0209. It lacks the battery charge icon that the beta 8.2.3.12 firmware had (dock FW EP101-0208). This update patches the vold exploit used to root with gingerbreak. Last time I checked this update was in the US only so far. This is all I know as I haven't installed.
Roach is working on implementing this update into Prime.
I just got a notification of this, has anyone installed it yet? Wondering if there are any issues
Has anyone in the UK recieved the OTA update yet? Do i need t have registered my product with ASUS to get the update? Thanks!

Working good on my end.
My tw version also received the .13 version update. Didn't observe clear improvement.

there's a good improvement, no more disconnect.
did you let forget to update the keyboard dock after updating the tablet?
Have had zero issues and I'm afraid I might get hosed by updating so I think ill wait a bit....

All good!!!
Everything looks the same and works properly. Just need a honeycomb update now with a major fix for the browser. Its the worst.

Yep, I got it as well, didn't have any issues to begin with, not noticing anything new, glad to see updates tho, keep 'em coming, keep improving. Honeycomb next please.

I don't know if its placebo but I think it's improved my standby battery life significantly.
I received the update this morning and installed it...
I was experiencing the keybord delay...and as i'm typing this on the keyboard dock now...there is still a delay. The wifi disconnect issues appear to have been resolved for me. I've been connected now for at least 2 hours and no disconnect.
ASUS: Please fix the keyboard delay...it's very annoying!!!

Just wanted to add that in order to completely flash the factory image you will need to unlock the critical partition in fastboot before flashing:

Can I flash NMJ32F on the Sprint version?
unfortunately, the stutter has not improved on Oreo. In fact, it feels worse.

Has the camera app improved in Oreo?
Has anyone successfully tried flashing NMI81C to an unlocked device? I can't imagine there'd be a problem, but if no one has done it or seen any problems with it then I know what I'm doing when I get home tomorrow. That was the last build my bluetooth music controls worked with, so I'm pretty excited to be able to flash back to it.

I do not think any app was updated. Unless there is some API in Oreo that would inherently improve the cam.
Does anyone know if you can flash the unlocked firmware onto the Sprint's variant of the Essential after it is carrier unlocked?

Oreo running great...only found one bug dealing with wifi hotspot and not being able to select 5ghz as the band to use.
Since flashing Oreo last night I am getting excellent battery life and it appears that I may do better than I was on Android nougat. Personally I really like this phone and no the camera is not the best but for $450 this is probably the nicest phone anyone can hold in their hand at any price point. Once the dads get interested because of price and we can get a port for the Huawei camera I'm sure this camera would do very well

Nice, I will try to flash the Oreo beta of the Unlocked version to my Sprint variants. BTW, do you happen to know how to trigger the UICC unlock menu without having to have the Sprint sim in there and activate the phone? Sprint reps told me the phone is unlocked on their end, but my phone still say invalid sim because the UICC unlock menu has not been activated on the phone itself. Would flashing the unlocked firmware solves this?
Only downside for me so far on the beta is battery life.
On nougat I would go to bed with 100% battery and wake up with 100%.
On Oreo I woke up with like 97%. Keeps dying quicker during the day as well, but this is expected as they mentioned the Oreo framework wasn't optimized for battery life yet.

Not only does it work but definitely recommended as you will get the latest fingerprint sensor fix as well as better screen touches.
I am coming up on 24 hours into this Oreo beta, and it's my daily driver. So far, so good. Battery life seems a bit better for me, although it was great before - hard to do an apples to apples comparison though. No bluetooth issues, in fact, this seems a bit better with Plantronics Voyager/Legend than before - haven't tried in the car yet. I had one spontaneous reboot (I wasn't using it, just sitting on the desk and I noticed it rebooting) but so far, I can't see any reason not to charge ahead. The install did turn off wifi calling, I had to re-enable that. No service/signal issues (on T-Mobile in central Texas).

update 9.5.13?

Just got a notification for this update but don't see it on OnePlus site or any media. Is it safe and anybody else received this?
New to me ?
Might be unique to your provider.

Ill just wait a day or so for others to experiment with it

Unfortunately still no Wifi calling on Verizon. Probably just not going to happen.

Impromptu update?

10.0.0 (QP1A.190711.020.C3, Sep 2019)
Seems like it was posted today..
Anyone flash it or know what it's for?
https://developers.google.com/android/images
Perhaps a fix for sensor issue?
I'd flash and see but ugh.. I have my phone set up perfectly including Google Pay.. May still do it, I'm sick like that!
i know right i didn't wanna flash it since we are a week away from the October build but will there even be an october build now?

Pretty sure there will be. The C3 indicates it's a hotfix release so that shouldn't impact the normal schedule.
So....did anyone flash it yet? Lol
Got it via OTA toda, 1335 MB on C3.
haven't seen anything different, lol.
Can confirm that this build has fixed the swipe up issue for unlocking not working properly - but still suffering from the screen goes blank when on a call (to ear) and then does not turn on again when viewed unless various buttons pressed!.
Got a new update as well
I got it this morning. I have not noticed anything new.

I have that issue, and I'm still on 9.0.
I was chatting with the Pixel team yesterday about something unrelated and was trying to get any info about the C3 update. Instead, I got very evasive runaround about how there is no approved communication. He didn't act like he didn't know what I was talking about but just wanted to change the subject since he wasn't going to say what the "hotfix" was for. I guess this their new strategy after still not disclosing the difference between .19 and .20.

Yeah, they used to be very up front with what the differences are in the builds. Usually they were carrier specific. If I had to guess, this new update fixed some huge security issue that they needed to fix ASAP before the bad guys could take over our phones.

Just take the OTA like good "sheeple." Don't worry about when it will get there, and of course you'd never need to root and block all of those glorious ads.
I flashes this new release yesterday and I may say it is big...I'm still going deep into what's new but haven't found anything relevant yet.

Is that the issue of swiping, or the proximity sensor info not causing the screen to reactive during a call?

Proximity.. I wish that while on a call, no other involuntary touch action could activated... Until hanging up or pressing a deliberate action.
Apparently a hotfix for the sensor bug went out 5.5MB for other pixels... (see the stickied sensor bug thread) Makes you wonder if someone made an oopsie in our case?
I noticed my phone a little bit colder after this update.
It's a pretty big update! It's the same size as the official Android 10 image. Weird.
Any of the 10 features that we haven't gotten yet in there? Like the customization app or whatever? New AOD clocks? I can't remember what all else we were supposed to get. I don't have time today to check it myself.

Slow fingerprint unlock

After updating to march security patch my fingerprint unlock has an awful delay, wondering if anyone else have the same issue and if there us any known fix.
Already tried removing and re registering the fingerprints,no luck.

Yep same here. If I wake the screen first it's fine (ie as before the update), but now it takes maybe a second to display the screen. Someone posted on Reddit too, but nothing on the issue tracker- hope this can be fixed
I guess i will wait a few days, hopefully the issue get fixed, dont really feel like doing yet another factory reset
Same is happening here.
Anyone else notice the new animation when exiting out of an app? it sucks lol.
Seems like turning AOD on is fixing the delay. Not perfect but works
Same slow here
Also have the same problem too. Wish I didn't install the update now
Yeah, same problem on pixel 4a 5g.
Same here, also my battery life is bad and I'm not heavy user. I have 6h sot.
Did a clean install, and still a delay.
