[Q] Software Update? - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Asus just pushed an update to my Transformer overnight -- anyone else get it? It's not the V8.2.3.9 as I had already installed that update.
No indication on Asus's site of a new update so I'm curious about it....

The 2.3.12 beta some people have been getting, perhaps?

Build is 8.2.3.13-20110511

Asus has released a 8.2.3.13 update that includes dock firmware EP101-0209. It lacks the battery charge icon that the beta 8.2.3.12 firmware had (dock FW EP101-0208). This update patches the vold exploit used to root with gingerbreak. Last time I checked this update was in the US only so far. This is all I know as I haven't installed.
Roach is working on implementing this update into Prime.

I just got a notification of this, has anyone installed it yet? Wondering if there are any issues

Has anyone in the UK recieved the OTA update yet? Do i need t have registered my product with ASUS to get the update? Thanks!

I just installed, plus the dock update after, everything seems fine

Working good on my end.

My tw version also received the .13 version update. Didn't observe clear improvement.

there's a good improvement, no more disconnect.
did you let forget to update the keyboard dock after updating the tablet?

Have had zero issues and I'm afraid I might get hosed by updating so I think ill wait a bit....

All good!!!
Everything looks the same and works properly. Just need a honeycomb update now with a major fix for the browser. Its the worst.

Is there any way to find out the build number before installing the update?

Yep, I got it as well, didn't have any issues to begin with, not noticing anything new, glad to see updates tho, keep 'em coming, keep improving. Honeycomb next please.

I don't know if its placebo but I think it's improved my standby battery life significantly.

I received the update this morning and installed it...
I was experiencing the keybord delay...and as i'm typing this on the keyboard dock now...there is still a delay. The wifi disconnect issues appear to have been resolved for me. I've been connected now for at least 2 hours and no disconnect.
ASUS: Please fix the keyboard delay...it's very annoying!!!

It's been mentioned that the keyboard delay will be resolved with the Honeycomb 3.1 update coming in June.

[Q] Firmware 8.2.3.13/Dock EP101-0209 no dock battery icon?

As many others, just got the firmware update a little while ago.
firmware is now 8.2.3.13 and dock is EP101-0209
is everyone else who got this update missing the dock battery icon that they added on the beta firmware a few days ago?
I did not have the beta update installed but I can confirm that there is no dock battery meter.
Too bad... Maybe they're really getting it right for the 3.1 update.
Here's hoping!
No battery meter here, what a load.
Mine has now stopped telling me that the dock is charging the tablet since update. It is still charging, just no lightning symbol on battery.

mine did that before the update.
seems that the charging icon wont show when the TF battery is fully charged.

I liked it, I could look down and see when the dock had died.
Updated and now my dock has stopped responding and my internet browser isn't working And also no dock battery icon.
Yep, no battery meter for the dock, although, it is working really well!!
that battery meter must of caused some problems or the guy on here was giving us a look on some of his personal work not approved

Lol, dont blame you... I'm not entirely sure what this whole blob thing is.
All I know is that the stock one is huge, and the cwm blob is small, so guessing all it does is install clockwork mod.
i just paul revere'd the news over to modaco... see what happens.
Do you guys know why the number 1 and number 6 on the keyboard have circles around the numbers? PM me if you dont want to derail the thread.
Seems to have fixed the disconnect issues but no seperate battery icon for the dock. Happy just to be able to use the dock so I can wait on an icon.

Well. The update has been pretty terrible for me. I have to reload the page in the browser about 8 times to see a page. Restarted the tab twice now. Sooo.. Question now is, can I roll back?

I know that this workaround it's not likable, but did you tried a factory reset?
I upgraded as well and everything works as it should.

Uggh. Please dont tell me that. If I get really desperate I will.
Running the update right now. In the last half hour, the keyboard dock froze up at least 4 times, and I restarted the TF three times. It ran pretty decently over the last couple days.
I'll report back shortly after the update is done.

"shortly"? Meaning this week, this month, this quarter?
Seriously though, thanks for the update Gary.
great to hear. good to see asus is on top of things
Excellent!
Nice to know. Thanks. what camera issues were reported?
I don't use the camera, have noticed no WiFi issues. Keyboard might act up once in a while.... Guess I'm anxious to see what the update brings. And breaks. : ) Thanks.
Very nice. Thanks Asus!
Hopefully the screen flicker issue is addressed as well.
what about the encryption issues? are those fixed? i don't want to spend another whole weekend due to faulty firmware upgrades..
thx
excellent! my wifi corrupt on standby.
Thanks for sharing this info.
Looking forward to it. Any idea when?
Cheers:good:
Thanks for the update! I hope this fixes more than just the issues mentioned..... there were a lot of issues with the last update.
Android 4.1.2 is also starting roll out to certain devices.
Cool!
The keyboard was driving me a little nutz.
I don't use the camera...well I do use the video cam.
And yes maybe there will a fix for the lines on the screen.
Thanx Asus HQ.

Let's hope they fixed the encryption issue. The keyboard issues may be annoying, but soft-bricking your tablet is much more time consuming. It took me 3 hours to research this bug and doing a complete factory reset. Now I'm waiting for the encryption to finish. (company policy...)
Hope this fixes the JB Alarm and random reboots/freezes as well
I experienced the camera issue today when i tried skypeing someone. I'm glad that Asus is releasing a fix and am hopeful it includes a solution to the random sluggishness I experience.
Edit: And no sooner than I type this, random reboot.
I just want the black line that flickers down the screen fixed. Happens a lot in the nook app. Especially annoying while reading.

G935PVPU5BQL1 update 12/27/2017

Just got a new update and the one thing I noticed so far is that they changed the font for the weather widget. It looks weird to me now and I wish I could change it back.
I love how after after new software upgrade, my phone feels fast again and screen on time recovers. But after another week on this rom, it will probably feel laggy and have poor battery life.
I got this today. It was a pretty big update. Don't know what it included, but it seems it was more than just the December security update. So far I haven't noticed anything obviously different, nor any issues.
Anyone know if the new update removes the Hotspot hack?

I have been saying that same thing for a long time.
If you are going to be snarky about an existing thread, you could at least post a link to it! This one came up on the search when I started to post a new topic suggesting it was similar to my question.
Here's the question I was going to post, but will post it here instead so there is "not open 100 same threads over and over". (since there was no link to the original post that was about this update and it didn't show up on the suggestions)
I received the first Oreo update on 03-Jan-18: Oreo 8.0.0, Security Patch level December 1, 2017
My understanding is that Xiaomi has started rolling out the second Oreo update that fixes a number of problems in the first release, but I have yet to get it. We own two A1's, and my wife's A1 has yet to get either Oreo update and mine has not received a January security patch or the latest Oreo update.
I'm just wondering if any of you who got the original Oreo update has received the latest one?

EDIT: Right after I posted this, it arrived on my phone! Now I just have to decide if I really want to apply it. With all the issues reported, I am not sure. The first update seems to work well for me: no camera lag to speak of (1 sec), notifications work properly as far as I can tell, etc. The only downside is a 'quieter' audio output, so not sure about rolling the dice and applying the upgrade. Will wait a few days to see what others experience.
EDIT 2:
I went ahead and did the update. Sound seems to have changed again. I went into my music app and changed the EQ to Flat and the sound was much better. I did not hear any hissing, even with classical music, but old ears may be the issue there. I don't use BT unless needed, so cannot address that issue. So far, notifications and icons all seem to work as they should. Camera app is unchanged at ~1 second from press of camera icon to ready. Fingerprint reader seems to have gotten faster, though it was no slouch (compared to my iPad) before. So far, battery usage is what I consider normal, but I don't use the phone for a lot of high drain things like watching videos or playing games. My battery easily lasts 2 to 3 days and is what I consider normal. If this changes with the new update, I will update this post.

The update was pulled due to a game booster issue which caused games to appear as a black screen. I'm sure they will fix it and re-release the update soon.

Damn... Is it working now? Any fix you found? My game booster isn't working like most people who updated, but at least the games are working after reseting Game booster.
I uninstalled the updates on YouTube and my WiFi started working. I then went on YouTube and updated it. All is good again. Phone appears to work much better and battery life is improved ?
