a friend gave me an A9 from Sprint and I am able to use it with only 2G here in the Philippines. As a long time HTC fan this is the first time I encountered this. Newbie and have no knowledge about Android rooting, etc.

I bought I9100 gsm handset recently. I happened to change network mode from GSM only to TD-SCDMA only and unfortunately i lost phone signal bar and cannot make phone calls anymore. It says RADIO OFF and emergency call only.How do i turn on phone radio? Or should i install a new firmware? Please reply me asap! Where can I download a new firmware?

Hey Guys,
I had brought this TAB from a friend with a confusing SIM or Network issue. Actually this Tab wont detect any CARRIER other than TATA DOCOMO. I am sure that it has no network lock. Not only this, even on TATA DOCOMO it's sometimes loosing network, when I got a call or while using Internet.
I have searched on XDA and found no thread regarding this issue. But some where I read that flashing latest firmware via Odin may overcome the particular SIM issue. I am just afraid, if I flash the whole firmware, It may be possible that even TATA DOCOMO wont work, then this tab is use less for me as I have no wifi around me.
It cant be a hardware issue, if it is then no CARRIER should work. I really dont want to visit Samsung care ATM, as I am short on money & this TAB is out of warranty.
Any kind of help is appreciated.

I recently purchased a HTC M8 from ebay thinking it would work perfectly with any GSM network . My phone is currently in android Kitkat and i want to update it to lollipop. I tried to update the firmware from phone's system update but failed as it is asking to try with CDMA network.
Can anyone suggest how can i update it to lollipop still staying in GSM network please?

Let me tell you, simply put, DON'T! if you have followed the instructions on how to get 4g, or if you are out of the country (i.e. US) you will lose 4g, you will also lose the ability to s-off and root. My M8 was awesome before I did that... now even my girlfriend (who is not even remotely familiar with cell phones and has an iphone of all devices) is making fun of me.... Before you do it, ask yourself if you want to be that guy?

I was able to successfully upgrade the phone to Marshmallow.

Build Number: MRA58K
Software Version: H81020n
I'm unable to activate mobile hotspot (tethering). I keep getting AUTHENTICATION FAILURE.
I have tried various steps as mentioned in the forum but non seems to help. My phone is non-rooted. I would like to keep it non-rooted.
Can someone please help me to fix this problem?

I am trying to put TWRP on an old Galaxy Core Prime (Kit kat 4.4.4), but I noticed that there are 3 different versions, each with its own recovery image. Ive done a bit of research, and the CPU is a Qualcom Snapdragon 410, which narrows it down to 2:
Qualcom
Qualcom CDMA
How can I tell if it is the CDMA version? Model is SM-S820L. I imagine that the L is for LTE, but both versions are LTE so that isn't much help. Thanks in advance for your time & for any help you can offer.
I believe I solved my problem. I found a site that said to check the status section in the settings. Apparently, if your phone has an MEID # it is CDMA. Mine does, so I am going with CDMA recovery version... Hope this helps someone in the future.
