In the next versions it will be called "Amateratsu kernel" so I used that image from my previous kernels.
At the moment it will only be compatible with Android Nougat because it is the base I use every day.

Does this kernel have the F2FS patches included? I have been using Valyrian Nougat because it has F2FS patched which allows me to use Magisk modules. I would love to be able to use this kernel since it is more up to date but I do not want to lose the ability to use those modules.

It does not have the patches for F2FS because I do not use that feature, this kernel I did for my personal use but I share it.
I know where the fix is if it's important to you, I'll include it in the next update. :fingers-crossed:

No, only in roms based on Lineage.
I use it in the AOKP and no problem.

I just wanted to say thank you for your work, this kernel is really a godsend, i've been trying to make magisk modules work on CarbonROM since i started using it back in september and nothing worked except the f2fs fix which CR's kernel doesn't have. Thank you so much, really.

I have an f2fs problem with LOS unofficial 14.1 when installing magisk doesn't allow me to install modules, but safetynet is fine.
I solved the problem when I tried flashing the valyrian kernel.

Trying to install, gets to "patching system image unconditionally" and gets stuck there. I'm on latest firmware and TWRP.

Besides the bugs it's honestly the fastest ROM i have ever used on my SHIELD, amazing job! Waiting for updates

Why so?
I have on my OPO COS13. 1.2 on primary and two nougat ROMs (ASOP, CM14) as secondaries.
Question is if this ROM build introduced the needed script changes to support multirom flashing and if kernel includes the kexec mod?

I think it's the way nougat loads the partitions, but CyanogenMod has probably already patched it

Before reporting an issue please check that it only occurs when having this kernel installed. Otherwise it may be an issue with the ROM.
The above also applies the other way around; i.e Don't report issues to the maintainer of a ROM unless they also occur without this kernel.
Be aware that battery issues are very likely related to your personal settings. Don't blame me for your modifications.
Always use the latest Kernel release with the latest build of your ROM of choice. If the kernel is much newer than the ROM or the other way around weird issues may arise.

Does that include the Google app? I don't like the current trend of including Gapps in ROMs, I want to be able to choose which Gapps I install.

My SO has been using this ROM for a good while and so far everything has gone butter smooth, stable and with great battery life, even on a quite old whyred... Great job!

After connecting the phone to a computer vía USB cable, the options for transfer data, etc appear grayed out.

Flashing Instructions
Clean flash (coming from 11.0.9.1):
• Download ROM from the link above
• Download Magisk v23.0 or newer (optionally)
• Reboot to recovery
• Format data (if encrypted)
• Flash ROM zip [ USE PROVIDED RECOVERY FOR ENCRYPTION]
• Reboot and voila!
• To get root access, reboot to recovery after ROM setup and flash magisk.
Updating to a newer build (dirty flash):
• Flash ROM zip and magisk (optional)
• Wipe cache and dalvik (optional, recommended)
• Reboot and voila!

Enable battery saving mode, It's the only way.
