Is it possible for phones to go by different model names? - General Questions and Answers

I tried looking everywhere but other than through Walmart site I can not find 'anything' relating to my phone.
The phone in question is the Alcatel Zip Lte model # A577VL.
Is there anyone that knows anything regard this? And in relating to rooting it is there a special method that is just invisible to my searching?

Not much information is out there in regards to your phone other than specs and what not.
However, you could attempt to root your phone using one click root apps : https://techonation.com/root-android-without-pc-computer/
Always remember to backup and follow the instructions to the point. If anything goes wrong, I am not responsible.
Enjoy!

I have this phone too, and one-tap roots don't work.

So here is most of the information I have:
Computer installs drivers for "Pixi 5 HD"
Can't find any information online
Made in China
Edit: Alcatel goes by Optus in Australia
Optus Zip is the same as the Alcatel Zip is the same as the ZTE Blade

The main company is TCL communications and they are from China if I read it correctly. You may be able to find a match they TCL

Just got a Galaxy s 4g..... Us Cellular.......

I been on the search on how to root my Galaxy s 4g from Us Cellular called the Aviator... (Brand New... Only been out for a week.)
The thing is that USCC is CDMA but their 4g network must be GSM. I don't know if this is a hybrid of CDMA and GSM together or what. (<------ Don't know if that is relevant but tossed it in.) Cant find much on the phone yet....
Anyway my question is the steps to root and flash the same as the T-Mobile sgs4g?
I have tried several different ways and all have been unsuccessful and nothing seemed to work. All that I tried were Software based rooting programs. Super One Click was the most recent and failed.
You need to check the model number under the battery and tell us what it says before we can give you proper advice.
Its the SCH-R930.....
We can't help you in this forum. This is for the SGH-T959V.

For future reference, it appears the name of the phone is Galaxy S Aviator (Samsung Stealth). Your phone is VERY new. Give it some time and you will likely find develpment for it before long.

[Completed] need help with galaxy s4 after towelroot

I'm new at rooting and searched and searched but couldn't find any answers for some questions I have. I apologize in advance as I know you guys get a million questions most of which are the same. I have an att galaxy s4 and I used towelroot to gain root. Afterwards I tried to install a custom recovery and tried both cwm and the other one (team win something or other) and both installed fine but neither would give me an option to backup anything up. Now when I try to boot into recovery it doesn't give me any options anymore it goes straight to the android logo and says downloading but nothing happens as I let it sit for a very long time and it does nothing. Then if I try and mess with any other buttons it says trying to install a custom Os can cause damage press volume down to cancel. Which I do because there isn't any other option... what am I doing wrong? Anyone with some help would be appreciated thanks in advance

It says I'm too new to post on development threads. How do I check what operating system I have to figure out which version of safestrap I need. My phones build number ends with nc1 if that helps. When reading that post I didn't see any version with the last 3 of my phone

[Q] Bootloader locked zte z667t aka Zinger root help

There are a few of use trying to get root for our ZTE Zinger. It seems that ZTE has this little guy locked down tight. Most paritions are r/o set on boot. If you go into recovery, they are not however.
What is needed next to help with this?
I know it's such an unusual question.
We have a couple of talented guys trying to achieve this but help is needed.
This is the page in the thread where things get going:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/zte-zinger-z667t-10-android-gsm-t2936545/page15
Here are the specs for the ZTE Zinger. It's just a small prepaid Tmo phone, and it's locked down tighter than fort knox.

Thanks for any direction or pointers concerning this thing.
No one at all?
I'm not even expecting someone to root it for us....maybe a big push in the right direction .
Sent from my Z667T using XDA Free mobile app
Ya I'm trying to root this phone for a friend but can't find anything anywhere...
All they have accomplished so far is temporarily rooting. But, in another thread, they are really trying hard to find a way to root permanently.

I currently am using the ZTE Whirl 2, I might have some luck rooting.

Change IMEI number

I was trying to unlock the bootloader on a sony xperia z5 but its perma-locked by the carrier so that plan went out the window
so I'm Wondering can I still root the device and also change the IMEI number or does the device bootloader have to be unlocked
And if it can be rooted whats the best way and is there any guides on doing so
Ok Ive check the links in forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/general/index-sony-xperia-z5-t3306208 which has great info
and according to the guides if the bootloader is carrier locked you cant root it or change anything its game over !!!!!
Changing the IMEI is probably impossible, unlocked bootloader or not. Even if it was possible, discussing it here is forbidden.
Yes you can do it.
Change imei is possible.
Can you help me with how it can be done please (IMEI Change/repair)

[Question] [Android 7.0][Samsung][MetroPCS] SM-G920t1: How to Jailbreak?

First post here, I apologize if this is the wrong place or if it's been covered before - I personally have not been able to find the answer;
Hey everyone I know this is a fairly old phone (the galaxy s6) however it's running Android 7.0 or Nougat. I have been searching XDA, but other than that I've just been finding really sketchy blogs that only half cover how to root/unlock the device. I was wondering if anyone could direct me in the correct path?
My main concern is - since the Phone is MetroPCS... will I have to unlock it before I can root it?
***Side Note:*** I could spend $20 on a code but would prefer not to as I've never had to do that.
Can I root it before I unlock it?
I ask because I found something on gsmhosting called "SM-G920T1 7.0 unlock done by great Octopus"
Which showed that the device had been rooted prior to unlock.
It's been a while since I rooted a phone so if anyone can supply a step-by-step for this exact model, I would greatly appreciate it.
