Hi folks,
I was running the Vodafone UK rom, but it's so out of date I decided to flash over to the latest UK generic.
In doing so, i've lost the Xperia Messaging app.
Would any one happen to know where I can get this? I prefer it over the Android Messages app.
Thanks
AH

Hi, i'm looking fo sony messaging working on android 9. I'm using xperia xz1 compact running android 9. Thanks
Xperia Messaging doesn't and propably won't support Android 9.0 Pie, since the last device to have it instead of Google Messaging, is the XZ which got 8.0 Oreo as a final update.
There is a new version on apkmirror, but don't wont install on my xz1 compact with android pie. Any solution? Thanks

Flash this in recovery, or unzip and place the files manually, whatever floats your boat.
Works for me on my Australian .306 Pie firmware.

Xperia Z5 never came with KitKat, shipped with 5.0 Lollipop
I know, so is that a problem?

Z1/2/3 Yes but why would you need KK? The latest build of .224/.253 is quite stable in my experiences and enough to replace KK. And Z3 won't receive android 7.0.

Cześć Ziuta
Since flashtool is not updated yet to support android 7.0+, we have to wait for our CE1 customization of update.
There is one trick, but you will loose all your data, tho :/

Flash a 6.0 FTF from a region with the OTA update, then you will receive the 7.0 OTA update.

You should not have, and you can always flash back if you have issues.

All XZ's have the same stack of worldwide antennas, so customizations differs only in numbers of themes and potential bloatware. Just go ahead and use any of European ones, if you are not sure
Thanks for answer!

Hello, xda!
I have a Sony Xperia Z3 D6603 which has a locked bootloader and I can't unlock it. It has a newest Android (6.0.1) Marshmallow update, build 23.5.A.1.291. I really wanted to install a Custom ROM, but because I can't, I have thought of Xposed Framework. But I can't find any way to root the phone and install the recovery.
So, is there any way to root this phone?
Thank you in advance
P.S. I would appreciate if those steps can be done in Linux

Hi!
Unfortunatly, I never managed to root the phone because it broke before I even tried!
But why you can't transfer photos? Maybe I can help with that.
