IMHO, phone cases prevent proper heat dissipation and hence reduce the life of internal components.
They also PROTECT its life when you drop it. I don't want to risk with that glass back on my device. So if anyone have any good suggestion write it down. Pictures would be nice too

Screen protector I believe you're better off with thin film ones that are able to cover all the screen. most of the hard ones are short by 2-3mm

Flat screen protectors I've bought so far doesn't cover the whole front panel due to curved edge, then I found this one which is advertised as if it can cover the whole front panel, still on the way and might be delayed due to preparations for chinese new year. My friend uses the one with top and bottom bezel mimicked (usually ASLING branded). For back case, since I have the blue one and it's too damn beautiful to be hidden, I just bought one similar to the included soft case, but with transparent color instead of black.

I have been searching online - ebay and Amazon, mostly... Is the screen of the device curved so the a rigid screen protector will only cover up to the curve? Or cover over the curve which leaves a sticky gap? How about cases? I am really looking for a 2 part case like Otterbox but I am only seeing flip cases. I know that an Otterbox style would make it a bulky monster but I like them... Any recommendations? I like to have those things BEFORE I even open up the phone box!!!

The entire front side of the device, including the screen, is completely flat. I have a glass-type screen protector and it covers entire front side (with holes for speaker, proximity sensor and camera).
Never had an otterbox case so can't say how device would fit into it. If it helps, other than camera and volume buttons, the back side is flat too.

Thanks for the info! I won't be leery of buying a nice, thick screen protector... I have seen several of those available... No Otterbox-type cases found so far so I guess I will have to make do! Thanks, again!

I'm pretty happy with this case. Actually if I had another phone I'd care to put a case on, it would be one of those
I used to have a phone that have curved glass around the edge (not like s7 edge, you probably know what I'm talking about) and almost every transparent tempered glass lift up around the edges, which is annoying.
I'm not really sure about Mi A2 if it gonna have the same issue, so I need to hear from you guys that already have tempered glass on! I don't really like the colored one either actually lol I won't buy it unless the transparent one will lift.

I always bought the transparent ones that don't cover 100% of the screen for my Mi A1, so I bought a similar one this time too. I also had some colored ones but they weren't compatible with most of my cases and I find the transparent ones to look neater anyway. When buying a transparent one make sure to look to the customer reviews to know whether it's the same size as a coloured one (which will show an air gap around the edge) or one that is smaller but doesn't have an air gap.

Planning to get the Redmi K20 Pro but would like to keep it minimal in terms of protection. Just need some scratch protection.

Has anyone tried the linked one from gadgetshieldz? If yes, good experiences? Does it cover the complete screen? I really can't stand the glass protectors which leave like 2mm of the screen on each side completely uncovered...

bought Glazedinc screen protector.. its hard and solid. covered every side.
I am using The Ringke Red Case, along with a generic Hydragel screen Protector from AliExpress (₹65). Till now my phone has had atleast 6-7 falls of which 2 were serious enough to stop the heart but zero bumps or cracks...
I haven't felt the need for over priced screen protectors from Glazedinc or anyone else...
Previously i used to use S-sheildz (Origin of GadetshieldZ from USA). Had to use water to apply the film but it was good enough that in my 7+ years of using them never had a screen scratch.... Or crack.. But can't find a source anymore. And Don't want pay more then 200 per screen guard....

once the Hydragel screen protector is applied, can that be removed .. when we dont want it..
I am using a nillkin screen protector 0.33mm without the black edges. Fits perfect without any bubbles or ring effect. So far the best screen protector for this phone if you want a glass screen protector. It has good olephobic coating so it's smooth and because I got the 0.33mm version they don't crack easily.
Where did you buy that? I have Nillkin tempered glass screen 0.2mm from Amazon India. It doesn't cover the whole screen. It doesn't even cover the display area completely. It also has halo around the edges even though I went to mobile phone store and asked them to apply the screen protector.
This is in fact my 3rd screen protector. I applied 2 others - one which had black edge which covered part of the display, and second one without black edges which also didn't cover the entire display.
I've also bought a set of 2 from GearBest, but I haven't applied it as it's the same size as the Nillkin one.
2 more on the way from Aliexpress, but I'm not too hopeful about them either. I don't want to take chance with another Nillkin, but you've found one that covers the entire screen and the edges stick properly as well, then I'd like to try it.

Oh easily,,, It's just some kind of plastic+rubber film that is preventing any scratches on my screen... Should offer enough protection from breaks also...
I'm using Clearplex on the screen with this phone. Is awesome. The case in the box is nice but not very strong, it's breaking in corners without getting hit or fallen.
I ordered hydrogel back film (Im waiting for it from Aliexpress) and a Nillkin transparent cover to have a couple of options.
Does transparent Nillkin cover get yellowish after a couple of months?

Hmm I bought in lazada which is like aliexpress but for my country the 0.33mm one doesn't breakf easily and I understand what you mean by not fitting fully it does have like a gap of few cm of the edges. But a case solves this. I am using spoken case btw. it doesn't have the rainbow effect though. When I got it and install I just push the bubbles out from the side the rainbow effect is gone. Idk maybe different place they use different kind of glass. I am using Redmi k20 pro btw

I'm not gonna recommend something but rather not recommend something which is the nillkin CP+ Max XD, it's a decent tempered glass honestly, but the black border is honestly too thick. It covers your screen just fine, but then you'll sacrifice a tiny bit of your screen being blocked by that thick black border. and also my sensors just can't function properly because of the stupid black border.
I'm ordering a few screen protectors that hopefully will fit my need. I ordered Nillkin CP+ Pro (the black border is a tat thinner than the XD), ringke dual easy film, and the last one is I guess some local product named Uneed hybrid pro glass. The last two are some kinda of film protector or in here we call them "hidrogel".

The first one went on with no bubbles. It could maybe be a little longer, or maybe I could've put it on a bit lower, but size wise it's OK. Don't have the money right now but think I may end up getting the OnePlus Nord official screen protector and trying that as they both have a 6.44 inch screen.

The case is NOT leather, you can tell that from the pictures. The green stripe on the back is just a sticker which comes off easily and the case looks better without it. It doesn't overlap the screen so you cannot lay the phone face down. It does have a large metal plate in the back for using with magnetic car phone holders, which I do like.
Overall, it's a great phone but due to the issues with accessories outside of China/India I'll probably stick with a more well known brand in future.
