Hey dude.
You flashed like custom boot animation enabler? I did what you said but it's still not working just a black screen.

An app named "boot animation" is available on play store. Works like a charm if you're rooted. Just select from various animation and click on apply and reboot . Tried myself.

Unfortunately the app does not work. The boot animation seems to be in both places. The /system/media and /product/etc/media.
Still black screen app does not work any solutions? Pls

Infinity ROM BOOT SCREEN

Does anyone know how to change the boot animation on the gingerbread infinity rom? I tried using rom toolbox app to change the boot animation. It succesfully installs it but the animation never changes. Any clues on how to fix it or other methods?
yes you can download a different boot animation and rename it to bootanimation.zip
Then with root explorer move the file to system/media.Replace the original one (remeber to back it up) and just reboot

search in the internet for a bootanimation of your choice (or extract it from another rom)
on your phone go to: system/media/bootanimation.zip,
(rename "bootanimation.zip"to whatever.zip).
now in system/media put the new bootanimation.zip you downloaded,
make sure is .zip and named bootanimation ,reboot your phone Enjoy.
If I helped it the thanks button please...

Not a flashable zip. You have to replace the bootanimation.zip found in /system/media by yours. Be sure to name it the same and overwrite it.
www.google.com is also a very good help source. I used the keywords "replace boot animation android" to find that in 0.21 seconds.
Cool your jets man, it took me a bit longer than that. Plus there's no new thread about the new CM10 boot animation so THERE!
I followed all the instructions and tried with both the 800 and 480 animations, but when the phone boots up it just shows a stock animation of the android logo...
anyone know why this might be?
I replaced both the animation in system/media and data/local

I've never tried putting anything in data/local. Try just system/media.

Yea, at first I tried just system/media and that didn't work and some article said try data/local as a solution - which also did not work :/
Putting the bootanimation.zip in /data/local should work. Be sure to change its permissions to 0755 or rwxr-xr-x.

Vertical 480 from the zip file in the youtube video worked for me, just changed permissions. Still using CM9 though, just didn't like the boot animation.

Enabling boot animation on Alcatel OT 5020T

I am trying to enable the boot animation on my One Touch Evolve. I have located the bootanimation.zip (custpack/JDR_custres/media), but the animation never happens when I start the phone. Is there something I need to add to the build.prop to get it going? I am running Android 4.1.2
The same for shut down...the animation file is there, but I see no animation.
I even tried putting the bootanimation.zip in the /system/media folder...doesn't work either...

Thanks for the reply...yes, I'm rooted, but that didn't work either. Is there something with the permissions maybe? When I first got the phone, the original boot animation didn't even work. That's why I was wondering if there was something in the build.prop that told it not to, or maybe there is a line I can add?
