Using the Google Pixel bootanim myself. Nice black background, nice dancing colored dots, way better than this one, imho. But, of course, YMMV! :good:
Looks like quite easy to make the background black. But it takes some time... Not into that at the moment. But thanks for posting!
I modified this beautiful bootanimation making the black background. I hope I have done something pleasing to everyone.

I copied the bootanimation.zip to my media folder and now I have no splash screen at all. It's just a generic "andriod" logo with a moving gradient. Trying to replace bootanimation.zip with the original file doesn't fix things. Anyone know a way to get the splash screen, any splash screen to come back?

Check the bootanimation.zip files permissions. Make sure they are: ( rw- r-- r-- ).
Pro Tip:
If you want to run this (or any other boot animation) systemless you can do so via Magisk:
* Using Magisk Manager download the "WatchDogs for OnePlus 5" module, activate and reboot
* Copy the "bootanimation.zip" file you want to use to '/magisk/WatchDogs-bootanimation-OP5/system/media/'
* Reboot
* Profit
NB: rename the existing bootanimation.zip in '/magisk/WatchDogs-bootanimation-OP5/system/media/' if you want to save that for later use.
Disable the module in Magisk to revert to the factory animation.
Thanks to the creator for a good animation!
NB 2: If you're running unencrypted you don't need Magisk, just put your desired boot animation zip in '/data/local/' to use it.
Boot animation has been added to MidnightCore in Magisk manager, for easily, systemless changes of bootanimations among other things.

I believe you have to use a terminal editor for midnight core.
I was getting irritated that this boot animation didn't align properly to my 5T, so I modded it to run at 1080x2160 and align properly with the 5t's default logo. I also cleaned it up slightly, as nagato's still had a little bit of grey visible and I'm far too much of a perfectionist for my own good.
To install, place bootanimation.zip in /system/media and ensure that permissions are -rw-r--r--.

so i saw this post and decided that i want those icons. so i pulled my framework-res.apk from the current ROM i am using (overcome 1.4.4) and modded the files inside.
THOSE ICONS WERE NOT CREATED BY ME. CREDIT GOES TO ORIGNIAL CREATOR (dunno who, i tried to find but couldn't find it)
attached are NON-flashable zips from various ROMS that are available.
More info:
-the widget below the time is minimalist text.
-wallpaper is from this app called wallpapercasa free from the market which i highly recommend. this app has high res wallpapers made specially for tablets.
-"S" icon u see is samba filesharing free from the market as well. best wifi file transfer app IMHO from tab to computer or vice versa.
-from left to right, the icons are: bluetooth, wifi, silent mode, signal strength, battery(%) and alarm.
Credits:
Original creator of those icons.
Natious for his flashable zip.
alterbridge86 for his wonderful ROM.
Galaxyer for VA Green theme and black settings.
DistortedWisdom for blue honeycomb theme.
Biospin for black call settings page.
Update (13/4):
-added framework for BOYPPC-V3 rom. thanks to wallah.
-added framework for Overcome 1.5.0-Beta. thanks to mkhattab.
-made into cwm flashable zips
-made some changes to the framework as i realized that when i charge my tab, the animation is screwed up. this update should fix the problem.
Update (14/4):
-changed to non-flashable zips as there's some problem with the flashable zip.
Update (18/4):
-added ZHKC2.2.1
-will consider sourcing for more battery mods from other forums and add it here after my exams.
Update (19/4):
-added Overcome1.6.0
Update (21/4):
- added links for Blue Honeycomb theme by DistortedWisdom and VA Green theme by galaxyer and modded to work on Overcome 1.6.x by DistortedWisdom.
Update (23/4):
- added Settings.apk with black background [tested only on Overcome 1.6.1] preview: http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/1754/26105842.jpg
LATEST Update (24/4):
- added Blacksettings.rar - this is not a flashable. extract the apks and place them in /system/app for a black settings page. Currently only the account profiles page are not black. trying to fix it.
- Removed framework-res(Overcome1.5.0Beta) due to not so popular demand and lack of slots for uploading files.
Instructions for installing notification icons ONLY (without theme):
1. extract zip file.
2. copy the framework-res.apk in the zip file into your sd card using root explorer.
3. navigate to /system/framework
4. tap rw at the top.
5. paste the copied framework-res.apk and u will experience FCs and this is normal. DO NOT PANIC.
6. restart tab.
Instructions for Settings with black background:
1. download Blacksettings.zip and extract the apks inside to your sd card
2. copy or move all the apk using root explorer
3. navigate to system/app
4. tap on r/w at the top
5. [optional] backup your Phone.apk/Settings.apk/Accountsandsyncsettings.apk somewhere just in case it doesn't work for your rom. this has only been tested on Overcome 1.6.1
6. paste all apks
Instructions for installing themes ONLY (w/o icons mods):
1. place zip in internal or external sd card
2. boot into recovery
3. install zip
Link to download theme:

The themes and battery icon mods are 2 different framework-res.apk.
They are works of 2 different people and i will only combine them and post it here when i am free or when >10 people request for it. the screenshots you see are the result of combining them. i do not want to combine them because the original framework might change again when alterbridge releases an update for Overcome ROM and I do not know how to mod it to work on the new framework if that happens. the themes are done by DistortedWisdom and Galaxyer. i will request from them if ever there is an update and post it here. meanwhile i'm still trying to how to theme properly. if i know how i won't bother them again. thanks
hit some thanks if i've helped.

I get installation aborted with 1.50BETA.zip from CWM.
These appear to be flashable .zips, but the OP still states that they are not.
Are they?
I've been doing research on making boot animations.. I'm new at this, so I'm not super great at it.
I haven't been able to create a flashable .zip, but only the bootanimation.zip file that goes into the /system/media folder. (on CM7) Just use Root Explorer to copy and paste the following zip into that folder, and you should be golden!
Make sure to allow R/W access when you get to the folder where your bootanimation is at. (;
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT EVER YOU DO TO YOUR PHONE. Bottom line. I didn't make you do anything, so don't blame me for anything, either.
Edit: I was made aware on my friend's EVO that his bootanimation.zip isn't located in the same place mine is..? So, paste wherever YOUR bootanimation file is, and you'll be good!
Oh, and if you could lead me into the world of flashable zips, with boot audio support, please do so!
I take boot animation requests. Let's get some going, and try to make this an epic collection!

Hello everybody!
I've just "ported" the bootanimation from the Android Lollipop Preview from Nexus 5, I've resized every picture one by one so that they match the screen resolution of our smartphone
Also, I've created a new bootsound, that combines the old Xperia Bootanimation and the song that Google used in the intro of the I/O Keynote of this year

Sorry, I think that's not possible, check that some people, like JanM RS and Ben Ling, have already tried with Sony's SDKs to make a theme for Xperia Themes, but it didn't work because it needs the SuperUser Mod, so let's see if it's still necesary to root the device when KK arrives, or if we are able to use it at 100%..
BTW, check this post, it's a request for CyanogenMod to bring official support for our device, you might be interested, maybe, if they bring us support, we might have Android L rom's in the future :fingers-crossed:
Thanks man!
Thats look nice i guess,, so i'll try to port to mine..thank u..

Yes. U need a rooted device for sure.
Upppppp (so that new ones can check this amazing bootanimation )
Cool bro! Keep it up
Works great on my Xperia M2 Dual:good:
works fine on D2305, it's a bit blurry at the edges but the resizing must have messed it up
one kool tip for people who are paranoid about changing the boot animation and bricking their device is to:
1)be rooted ofc
2)IMPORTANT!!!: RENAME NOT REPLACE
3)now you can move the "new" boot animation to /system/media
4)now navigate to /system/bin
5)find the script "bootanimation" it shouldn't be "bootanimation.sh" or anything else just "bootanimation", may be diffrent for other devices but it should be consistance across all android devices
6)if it shows the new animation then done! :victory::victory::victory:
7)else, go back, delete the "new" one and rename the old boot animation to it original name "bootanimation.zip"
8)check all the contents of the "new" one and perform a MD5/hash checksum on it, then take it from step 2 again
i'll personally keep another copy of the boot animation on my PC so i can adb push it if all fails

Just sharing a mod i quickly made for the Oneplus 3. Works ONLY for op3. No op3t or op2 or any other device supported
It contains a modded logo.bin file to get the 2015 Nexus 5x and Nexus 6p splash screen instead of Oneplus logo, and stock Nexus bootanimation (Marshmallow/Nougat One)
EDIT : Available as Pixel bootlogo and bootanimation as well
EDIT 2 : Revert to stock and simpleStock zips are available as well
First, thanks to @makers_mark who made this possible thanks to his mod. Take a minut to visit his MOD XDA THREAD
Here are the zips :
- Nexus2015Logo+Bootanim
- PixelLogo
- PixelBlack ! thanks @Rakpere / PixelBlack ! without "Powered by android" mention
- New StockSimple bootanimation and splash, from OOS 3.x, with removed "Powered by android" mention
- Revert to stock logo.bin
Enjoy
Thank you! :good:

One issue though: bootlogo works, but bootanimation seems to be corrupt. Flashing the zip doesnt give the new bootanimation, and manually placing it into /system/media (bootanimation that's inside your zip) will put a black screen.

Tested myself just now again, and worked. I was trying to make a Pixel splash screen + bootanimation but their new bootanimation is f*cked up and makes graphics glitches. Worked here, maybe its a corrupted upload. Try to download again from OP, im reuploading it right now, with fixed system mount in twrp (my bad i forgot the line in flashable script lol)
Sooooo, tell me if it works now
Btw, im using AICP Nougat now, so maybe the bootanimation only works on Nougat+, cuz i downloaded Nexus 5x 7.0 october factory image to dump the bootanimation.zip from. But i was kinda disapointed when i seen it was same as Marshmallow, so N5X Marshmallow bootanimation shall work (you can get n5x bootanim from here)

Earlier we got boot animations from pixel 2 devices, but I am here with flashable ones to reduce work on your part.
So just download, and get to flashing!
Instructions-
-TO FLASH PIXEL 2 BOOT ANIMATION+SPLASH-
Just download the appropriate boot animation and flash through any custom recovery. If you dont have one, use apps like flashify to get the job done.
-TO BACKUP YOUR CURRENT BOOT ANIMATION-
Through a root file manager, go to /system/media and change bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip.bak and then flash whichever pixel 2 boot zip you fancy.
-TO RECOVER BACKED UP BOOT ANIMATION-
Again through a root file manager, go to /system/media and delete bootanimation.zip. Now rename bootanimation.zip.bak to bootanimation.zip.
-TO GET STOCK SPLASH BACK-
Just flash the flashable zip below through TWRP.
Downloads-
Light version [Old firmware] - Download!
Dark version [Old firmware] - Download!
Light version [New firmware] - Download!
Dark version [New firmware] - Download!
Disclaimer- IM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO YOUR DEVICE BECAUSE OF THIS ZIP. YOU CHOSE TO FLASH IT!

Switching in Substratum would be more convenient. And my ROM is updated quite often, like once per two days. Updating means overwriting the /system partition, and I'll have to redo the backup-and-replace all over again.

Oh, well... Anyway, is it just me, or is the small grey looping progress bar not visible in the dark version of the bootanimation?

It is there, but not that visible due to the dark background. Will work on it after exams.

Also, the Google logo and the G logo looks jagged in the dark version. Is it just an effect of the dark background? White version looks smooth.

It is a bit jagged, and itll stay that way until official dark version is released by google, caz in this version, each pictures is editted by us which has no chance of resulting in perfect, smooth and high quality bootanimation.
The progress bar below the G is fixed and is visible now, and have tried to improve the animations quality. Will release later today!

Looking forward to it. The white version is so blinding, especially when I turn my phone on right after waking up. That's what I always do. We all do. ?
