Relock the boot loader for Samsung s8+ please help. - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

Hi, thanks for everyone who would like to help me, I've rooted my phone s8 plus ages ago, and I didn't like it, coz I need the bank app and android pay works again, so after flash it with stock Rom of Ee network, I've installed android pay and doesn't want to work keep telling me, your phone rooted and your bootloader unlocked, ive tried to find a solution, and I used ADB and it isn't working for me ... is there any other solution please?? Thanks

Nope...

Relocking won't bring back apps that need Knox to be 0x0. If you flaahed a custom boot image to use systemless root then your counter is permanently at least 0x1

It should be under the Verizon model. Usually tracfone does not lock the bootloaders on their variant. On another thread a guy flashed the verizon firmware to this model with no bricks and issue. but doing that WILL lock the bootloader. I hope he responds to my post. want to know to what extent it was flashed and if knox got tripped.

would you be able to show me the right direction to where he got the method to root his.? also if you learn anything else from him . can you let me know. so this mean I have an unlock bootloader? doesn't that mean I can root easier?

I should be able to get one of these mids august hopefully and will use it as a test device to see what bricks it and what hack can be done. In the past tracfone has release the SM-S975L(Tracfone Unlocked bootloader) which equals to an SGH-I337 (AT&T Locked bootloader), they released the S5 & S6 which equal to the SM-G900V and SM-G920V, both have Unlocked bootloaders. So i dnt think the S7 is any different and equals to the SM-G930V. Any root method that works for the SM-G930V should work on the SM-G930VL. But again this is just my say based on past experiences, i wont know until i get the phone and try all this. For what I know so far he was able to flash the complete verizon firmware which i think will flash a locked bootloader and no going back after it.
Yes will share my experiences.

So i was able to flash the full latest verizon firmware and fully ended up converting the phone to an SM-G930V. SO provided that you flash the firmware on which root was achieved for the SM-G930V, then there is really no stopping you from rooting this phone. As expected due to flashing the verizon firmware the phone has a locked bootloader now but root was achieved regardless.
Proceed at your own risk.
I have the Sm-g930vl (tracfone) and would like to confirm the bootloader is unlocked. I can boot into both recovery and download mode but cannot connect with fastboot to get device info. Is there another way to check?

Thanks for the info. Do you know if I can edit the build.prop with adb without rooting? I've never messed with Samsung. Seems a different beast.

No way you can modify build.prop without root. What are you trying to accomplish?

I was hoping to enable hotspot. I've read where people have flashed the 930u firmware and can enable it but I'm already on Nougat even on tracfone firmware.

I see, the only way I see this working for you is by third apps or flash a firmware that supports it.

[G955FD Exynos] Need Help with Re-locking Bootloader :foldedhands:

So I sold my s8+ g955fd seexynos to this guy for a really good price.
My s8+ was rooted with magisk and bootloader was unlocked.
But this guys wants it unrooted and wants the bootloader to be locked so that he can have the ota updates working. And if I fail to do so (which I am at the moment), I would have to return the money (which I dont want to).
I tried flashing stock rom (latest from Sammobile) from the scratch with Odin but still when I check with Intercept X app, it says bootloader unlocked. and I checked in developer options too, the oem unlock is greyed out and set to off and says "bootloader is already unlocked".
Could someone please guide me with working steps please? I am good with flashing and stuff.
I tried searching the s8+ forum but couldn't find anything helpful.
Need urgent help. :foldedhands:
Edit 1: now the OEM unlock is gone from developers options after flashing magisk again :scared:
Edit 2: After uninstalling magisk from magisk manager app
, phone went to bootloop. So I flashed stock rom "bl,ap,cp,csc" with odin again and the greyed out oem unlock is back with status "bootloader is already unlocked"
Any hint guys?
Just a hint would be enough!
Its a one way process from what I understand.
Anybody will want it locked because without it locked you cant use Knox or any of the payment apps that depend on Knox.
I could be wrong but this is what I feel.

How to downgrade to oneui 3.0 or 2.5 from oneui 3.1

hello guys , i need some help .
my device is s10e,G970U1 with unlocked bootloader. today i flashed the bl,ap,cp,and csc from oneui3.1 by odin ,and i get a locked bootloader ,so i want to downgrade to the unlocked bootloader,is here anyway to do that .
maybe i do not need the twrp but magisk is a necessity ,but i cannot flash the patched ap in odin ,what can i do now .
i just unblocked the bootloader at feb 14 ,and now i can not use it ,i am not felling well lol.
I haven't figured it out - trying to flash TWRP or flash the Magisk AP soft bricks. The UI 3.1 bootloader version is 5, and the old one is 4 and it won't let you downgrade since it is, technically, locked now. Though KNOX is still obviously tripped, so samsung pay still doesn't work on my watch.
I don't think it can be unlocked again.
G9700 Snapdragon with OneUI 3.1 and bootloader 5 is working with Magisk v22 and OEM unlock too...

If bootloader is same that you want to downgrade to then yes. If your bootloader upgraded from let's say U1 to U2 or S1 to S2 then no you cannot downgrade back to U1 or S1. And on 3.1 on some devices you do lose the bootloader unlock I believe.

Samsung pay didn't work because Knox was tripped, and it still doesn't work on my phone even after being re-locked.
Given the update apparently bypasses the token used to unlock the bootloader, I think we are SOL. People waited years for such an option, and apparently Samsung is working to lock that down.
Now I need to consider if I want to drop $350 for a new S10e still on original firmware, and then another $75 to unlock. I suppose if I can get $150 for my current phone that's not an awful deal.

They are out there. Some new and refurbs for $250-$350.
In any event, I had mixed feelings about rooting in the first place. I pretty much only used it to limit constantly charging my phone to 100% every night. Not going to throw any more money at a phone already over 1.5 years old. A few years from now, I'll probably regret losing root.
hello, I have Galaxy S10E (Snapdragon) SM-G970W with bootloader v6, can anyone help me to unlock this so I could able to flash custom from, TIA.

Unroot a Samsung Note 10 + Install stock ROM

Hi All, noob posting here,
I've recently rooted my first phone. It was a Samsung Note 10. The user who asked me to is now asking me to unroot the phone so that they can "gift" it to someone.
My question here is, I'd root using magisk after unlocking the bootloader. I uninstalled magisk but the recovery boot is still inaccessible. I understand magisk hijacks the recovery so I understand why, I'm confused on why does the uninstall not free up the recovery?
Also, the software info still shows custom. I don't understand if this means the phone is still technically rooted? I anyway figured I'd revert back to stock ROM. I understand it isn't as simple as flashing stock ROM as I risk bricking the phone (?). Would someone be able to give me some advice + insight.
Thanks!

Use Odin to flash the OEM firmware, then relock the bootloader.
Be aware that Knox is permanently tripped since you installed modified software on the device.
