[EOL] Stock International ROM [stable] [v5.1] for [klte/kltekor/kltedcm] - Galaxy S 5 Android Development (Snapdragon)

This project is now "End-of-Life" (EOL). Thanks to all of you for the kind support...
/* Introduction */
As a user of Korean Galaxy S5 (kltekor), I was really disappointed with an infinite number of useless pre-installed bloatware by both Samsung as well as Korean service providers. After several attempts, I’m managed to make a decent ROM which is simply ported from the international variant of S5, that is klte.
Please note: I made this ROM for my personnel use. Further, it is simply a clean, de-odexed and significantly de-bloated stock international ROM with a number of useful apps (from Note 7, S8, Lineage-OS etc: optional.). If you are looking for a more feature rich port ROM, you will be mostly disappointed.

DISCLAIMER!
I am not responsible for any damage to your device. Everything you are doing on your device is on your own risk.
I only own kltelgt (Korean variant). Hence, this ROM is only tested on that device.
Please note that flashing any custom ROM/Kernel including mine will void your warranty.
/* Special note to users/developers */
You are allowed to take anything (including kernel, apps etc.) from this ROM. Giving proper credits to the original developers (including me, if you considered me as one among them) are, however, highly appreciated. Feel free to contact me, if you need any assistance from my side.
/* Aim of this ROM */
To provide a simple, clean and nearly stock experience for kltexxx users.
/* Compatibility */
This ROM is by-default compatible with kltekor (SM-G900S/K/L) and nothing else.
To run this ROM on klte/kltedcm, you need to flash the supplied klte-AddOn/kltedcm-AddOn, which includes klte/kltedcm kernel as well as other required files, after flashing ROM. Please note: you also need to flash Magisk since the klte/kltedcm "boot.img" from AddOn will replace the patched ramdisk with the stock one.

For klte it's safe to flash?

By-default No. Because the "boot.img" of this ROM is packed with kltekor dtb (which is too different from klte) and zImage.
However, it will mostly work (and should be safe) if you flash a klte kernel over this ROM (PS: preferably anykernel zip contains zImage and dtb for klte).

Version 2.0
Version 2.0 is now available to download.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm not capable to fix app level issues. So, I'll think about using the stock calendar app.

If you try to set PIN/Pattern before fingerprint, it will usually work. If not, plz install a third party luncher and try again. It will mostly work (worked for me).

For @kuldesak69 and all others want to this ROM kltdedcm, may be try this new kernel after flashing the ROM. Please note: it will overwrite magisk, so, you need to flash Magisk too. So, the procedure is
1. Flash ROM,
2. Flash kltedcm_AddOn and
3. Flash Magisk.
Waiting for your reply. Feel free to report if something doesn't work properly... I will try to make fixes soon...

When I boot it up , it just says i have no space for anything and i cant use applications , and I have no space so I wont receive SMS ... any idea?

Hey @spezi77 you're working hard on different kitkat roms which I find them all Identical, don't you think its better to provide one stable and complete rom instead of many different which all contain problems? I'm not here to disappoint you, but I think all these roms could be converted to each other by only some launchers and tweaks. I hope some day I can use one of your very best roms.
thanks indeed...

True words.. no worries, it's really hard to disappoint me.
Frankly, I am just learning about Android developments and versioning while looking for the most suitable and stable kk rom for my device. I enjoy the creative process of building roms -- especially by trying out different approaches, roms and kernel mods -- and sharing the results with you. There are a lot of dev teams out there borrowing features from each other -- giving their roms quite a similar feature set (why not?). But imho there are still noticeable differences! And even if we only talk about a specific look and feel or small innovations (have you ever seen Omni? sorry for OT).
With reference to the current bugs, you should not forget that most of them are common for all 4.x roms because they depend on the kernel.
However, enough said and I guess that by now you guys got really oversaturated! I will try my best to tone it down and focus on improving what is here!
Cheers!
I have different opinion on this. I agree that quality should be in favor over quantity.
We should be graceful @spezi77 bring us many choice to choose from, and then you can select the rom you like
and be more active in that thread, then natural selection will take it course.
@spezi77 I honor your overwhelming passion to the xda community and Desire, and your next great rom.

General Q/A
Q: Why SlimKat?
A: It is a great ROM and is very well suited for older devices.
Q: Why another SlimKat thread?
A: This is my own build with parts from various kernels that I feel are beneficial to pyramid users. It most likely won't be as stable as the official builds and therefore needs a separate thread.
Q: You just said it most likely won't be as stable. Does that mean it's buggy?
A: I will not release a build that doesn't work for me. The sensation is my only device and this build will always be my daily driver.
Q: Why not work with dexter93 to make the official build better?
A: That is my intention. We will all benefit from your support and testing. Let us know what works and what doesn't. Then it can be pulled into the official branch.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I enable root access?
System settings -> Developer options -> Root access
First set to Disabled (if not already) and then set to Apps only or Apps and ADB.
How do I change resolution/dpi/density?
Manual: With root explorer, edit /system/build.prop and change ro.sf.lcd_density=182 to ro.sf.lcd_density=240 and reboot.
App: Download Texdroider DPI from play store to change 182 to 240 and reboot. You can then uninstall the app.
How do I change CPU min/max speed, governors and IO schedulers?
Manual: With root explorer, edit /etc/init.d/89kernel init script (setting options are in the script).
App: Download Kernel Tuner from play store.
How do I submit a bugreport?
See the Slim website instructions here. Attach the report in this thread.
What firmware/radio should I use with this ROM?
For TMOUS try: 3.32.531.14 which comes with radio 11.69A.3504.00U_11.23.3504.07_M2
For non-TMOUS try 3.32/3.33 firmware and corresponding radios from: firmware and radios
Tips/Tricks
If you use google apps, install the biggest package that you need. You want to do this because those google apps will be installed into /system. I've seen many users talk about wanting the smallest gapps they can have and then downloading just what they need from the play store. This is not a good approach for our Sensation because we have a very large /system partition and a very small /data partition (by today's standards). So, a better approach would be to get the *full* gapps package and either remove the apps that you don't need or disable them.
Odex your /system apps. This will free up quite a lot of space in the /data/dalvik-cache folder which again will give you more room for apps. There are many odex scripts available on XDA to choose from and probably even some apps in the play store. You can also try out my flashable zip here (md5sum: 04320206ec11669b2da2f5340bb647f2). Flash it after flashing GApps.
Known Bugs
Battery calibration issue on first boot causes charging to stop at 90%. Charging is normal after reboot. (Appears fixed now)
It has been reported that some bluetooth devices will fail to connect.
It has been reported that some VOIP apps will not work (Line/Skype).
It has been reported that call recording apps will not work.

^^Hello, fellow Minchanin.
Xda: devdb? What does that green banner mean?
Are there any collaborative efforts between you and dexter?
Hello,
First off many thanks for your great work & contribution!
I would need S2W or a similar feature as the "Volume Rocker Wake" feature does not work in Slimkat. Would you have any recommendation for a custom kernel that I could flash that has such a feature?
Thank you.
what about cpu undervolt? is it working on this rom?
For sure, just tested this rom and its absolutely fast! With Lionheart governor and Sio I/O scheduler. But one question @LordNerevar, which option is the best for Multi-Core power savings?

Sultan's kernel had S2W for awhile but it caused lockups/reboots. I'll see if I can find why the Volume Rocker Wake doesn't work.

Thank you. Let me outline what has happened so far: Clean install of Slimkat (v7.9) with a formatted SD card and the system fully wiped. "Volume Rocker Wake" is enabled, however, only works for a few seconds after the screen has turned off. It also works perfectly when the phone is connected to a USB charger.
Occasionally the wake function would work even when the phone isn't charging, but this happens fairly randomly, no obvious pattern.
First of all, great rom!
Feels smooth and a lot of features.
But....... what about the resolution?
statusbar clock and such is really small, icons in appdrawer too, it almost looks like the resoltion is set to high.
When using google stock launcher the icons are normal but statusbar is still much smaller then the stock rom.
Is this changeable?

Ruben

simply change density in build.prop to 240
Alternatively use TexDroid to change DPI to 240.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.texdroider.texdroider_dpi&hl=de
You need to grant root access in order for the tool to work.
Thanks for answering questions everyone! I've started an FAQ on the OP for the ones I've seen often on the Official SlimKat ROM thread.
I was able to fix the volume rocker wake bug in the kernel. It's working for me with and without a secure lockscreen enabled. Try it out if you need it. That along with all the 8.2 goodness from the Slim team is available in the 2nd post.
No way... Thank you very much! I shall give it a try tonight. I am very excited!
Just out of curiousity... What is a bug and if so what exactly was the problem?
Also would it make sense to report this back to the Slim Team, so they can fix this as well? I have seen other posts that report similar problems.
Thank you for you great support!
LordNerevar, your latest version fixed the volume rocker issue. Even better I did not have to clean-install, I simply upgraded from Dexter93's version 7.9 to yours and my phone works perfectly. I am more than happy and this has breathed new life into my old Sensation. Thank you very much!
Perhaps you can join forces with Dexter in that you let him know how you eliminated this bug?
Good job!
Upon closer examination of the code, I found that you can actually set /sys/keyboard/vol_wakeup to 1 and enable Volume Rocker Wake under Settings->Display as normal. This should even work with the Official versions. I will add this ability to the 89kernel init script.
Thank you, LordNerevar. Guess that is the fix I have been looking for. I never noticed that file.
Interestingly mine is still set to zero, but volume wake works nonetheless with your latest version.

That's correct. My latest version bypasses the need for that file. However, that file does serve a purpose and I was actually going to implement it when I found it already available. The purpose is that if you don't want volume rocker wake, having that tunable will keep the phone in sleep mode if the volume buttons are pressed. Without that file or with that file bypassed, if you have volume rocker wake disabled in display settings the phone comes out of sleep mode and just doesn't turn on the display.
So, with my next version you will need to enable the setting in 89kernel and in display settings for it to work.

[7.1.x|SM-N900| Unofficial LineageOS 14.1 (ha_3g)

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 7.1 (Nougat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
It is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Root Access and Theming Guide
Want Root access??
Just flash with TWRP the LineageOS SU Addon zip file found on the download section... Flash it after you have flashed Google Apps!!!
Then enable the developer options menu with this guide:
To enable Developer Options, open the Settings screen, scroll down to the bottom, and tap About phone or About tablet.
Scroll down to the bottom of the About screen and find the Build number.
Tap the Build number field seven times to enable Developer Options. Tap a few times and you’ll see a toast notification with a countdown that reads “You are now X steps way from being a developer.”
When you’re done, you’ll see the message “You are now a developer!”. Congratulations. Don’t let this newfound power go to your head.
Tap the Back button and you’ll see the Developer options menu just above the “About Phone” section in Settings. This menu is now enabled on your device—you won’t have to repeat this process again unless you perform a factory reset.
Now go into the developers options menu and find the option to enable root access!!
Flashed the SU Addon and now you want to remove it from your phone??
Just download the LineageOS SU Addon remover and flash it with TWRP...
Excellent...

Change Log
Detail(Korean): http://enfree.com/prime/?page=changelog&device=N910
Note: AnyKernel method
Kernels that use AnyKernel method do not have built-in ramdisks; instead they extract and merge with currently installed ramdisk on the fly while installing.
This can help improve compatibility with certain carriers, but can also cause problems if flashed upon another custom kernel.
Thus it is highly recommended that you have a stock kernel installed beforehand when flashing this kernel.

tried this, but the anykernel only supports stock kernel? im sure most n910c users use graceux roms and they dont work with stock kernels. i tried with h vitamin which is the most close to stock ux kernel i can find but prime kernel does not support it
Do we have fast charge script on this kernel?
nice work, now testing on n910c running erobot rom, i will edit this post if anything unexpected happened
Update:
@Hyunwoo AHN error while installing in twrp: variant: n910c, os: touchwiz base -> error: n910eur-tw-zImage not found
it cant detect the n910ch-tw-zimage from kernel files
awesome awesome awesome,,
F2FS + FIOPS in 1 kernel. FINALLY ... this is truly the best (minus encryption concerns?)
wonderful work sir. will test out on my U variant and report back.
if only there was a ROM that supported f2fs, I cant get modem to work on this kernel N910U variant.
Updater process ended with ERROR: 1

You do not seem to understand my writing.
When flashing the kernel, extract the ramdisk from the existing kernel, convert the ramdisk properly and merge it.
It is best to use this kernel after flashing the stock kernel first.
Of course you can use another developer's kernel (ramdisk), but as I said, there is a possibility of errors, so flash the stock kernel first if possible.
As I said, GraceUX ROM works well.

There was a mistake in the flashing script.
Wait for the next version or decompress and rename the file yourself.

Is there a way to create a unique serial number for your phone in your kernel and disable your phone?
I am referring to the contents of the Korean community.
What does the curl package do inside the kernel? Is synapse reinstalled every time it boots to disable the user's phone based on the generated serial number?

Use curl to generate a unique serial number.
The serial number is used to download add-ons for donor users and not for other purposes.

i think it was you who dont understand what i mean, but then again i explained not so clearly so i guess its my fault.
what i meant is this error: n910eur-tw-zImage not found
but i dont understand what you said "When flashing the kernel, extract the ramdisk from the existing kernel, convert the ramdisk properly and merge it."
dont you mean i just flash the most close to stock ux kernel first then flash Prime anykernel?
because i dont think my device will boot if i flash stock kernel you provided because im using UX rom.
UX roms need stock UX kernel (modified something in ramdisk i forgot what is it)

It 's hard to explain because I do not know English well.
Do not worry about using GraceUX ROM, do not worry about it.
The error you say is my mistake as I said in other posts. And obviously I said that some variants need testing.
N910C, touchwiz os, Prime kernel v6.4.0:
@Hyunwoo AHN Phone won't boot and in restart loop at boot logo
excellent news for 910f needs testing still?

i suggest you not to download the kernel yet, your phone probably wont boot (n910c), wait for an update from @Hyunwoo AHN to fix the issue
Damn it!
v6.3.0 was linked. -_-;
I just fixed the download link.
n910u got a bootloop after flash this kernel...
anyway, thanks for your work
Updated to v6.4.1
Add custom build dtb, with N910C/H/U.
fix configs, with N910U variant.
*** Need test ***
However, the Korean variants(S/K/L) works perfectly.

A: Don't worry about it. Some weird stuff happening there, it's still on tho.
Q: Will you add AOD?
A: No. Not because I don't want, because it's impossible. Trust me, me and other devs tried alot.
Q: Will you add X feature?

For reporting bugsSo if there occurs a bug in the kernel, here are what you should do to help me fix that. Remember I work without a device so I can't replicate bugs myself.
1. Write your phone's model number
2. Write your phone's CSC code
3. Write your security patch level
4. Do you have any magisk modules installed?
5. Explain the issue with details
6. Replicate the issue, then boot straight to TWRP. From there go to Advanced > File Manager and navigate to /proc. Then find a file named last_kmsg, copy that to your internal storage or SDcard and upload it somewhere then send it in my XDA PM or Telegram PM at username MITKO7411XD
Nice, congrats!

Hi I have J600F. And I'm on the zapatos rom with helios kernel. I installed your kernel via zip install but it did not work. It booted up. Showed starting apps. 1 to 82 and then black screen. Only white strip middle right where you pull left for edge apps panel showed. Can you maybe help, please?. Did I do something wrong maybe. Thx
Hi. Looks like some users have problems, some dont. So I advice to fully factory reset before or after flashing the kernel to work properly
I may also remove the built-in Magisk and OxygenControl app to rule out any instability
Test version is in my telegram group
J600FN user. Everything is working O.K. here.
SM-J600G (Philippines csc) not working.. i stucked in blackscreen and cannot enter twrp but i managed to fix by using offline charging just to enter twrp forcefully. I already used Oxygenkernel and Helios for J6 and this does not working on me

Tried and still black screen.. maybe its because i flashed helios kernel before and inside the zip file is:
/system/lib/libsecure_storage_jni.so
/system/lib/libsecure_storage.so
/system/vendor/lib/libsecure_storage_jni.so
/system/vendor/lib/libsecure_storage.so

Hi
I doubt it's that, but it somehow could be. Maybe try a clean rom without flashing helios then flash my kernel. If it still doesnt work, give logcat if you can (remember I'm working without a phone so i cant reproduce the issues)
Hi
Can you please support galaxy j4 too
Just tried this, everything works fine except for the Spectrum Gaming profile. The GPU is stuck at 343mhz even if both the minimum and maximum frequencies are maxed out, causing LOTS of lag when gaming. I play games a lot and having a custom kernel is my only way to gain extra fps.
I'll send a screenshot later. Great job on the kernel! A much better alternative to oxygen kernel :good:
EDIT: I'm having microstutters when playing games. I tried all profiles. I have an SM-J600G
why there is nothing for j6 plus I think im gonna move to j6
