Thanks anyway. I have those.

Anyone?

For the status bar, I'd love the ability to remove the battery symbol, yet retain the battery percentage. Also, to change the clock to time and date.
Though, I cannot locate the files your requesting. Would they be in the OTA on the developer's page on Google?

The system image files can't be extracted correctly. If you have a root explorer on your phone you can copy off the /system/framework/framework-res.apk and /system/priv-app/SystemUIGoogle/SystemUIGoogle.apk. if you can use adb you can open CMD window on PC and adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk and adb pull /system/priv-app/SystemUIGoogle/SystemUIGoogle.apk

I have a couple of things to try as far as mods go. Rather than doing onesie twosie mods at a time I'm trying to come up with a Aroma and ADB installer with several mods to choose from. Without a custom rom, I have no binary installer to use as a basis for an Aroma update-binary-installer. I took a stab at creating one but have no idea if it will work. With both the Aroma and the adb method, you need to install the base first. Then you can try some others. Magisk is another complication.
Aroma installer of course you flash in recovery. Base is the very last selection. I could try the binary from the pixel. Maybe it is close enough.
Aroma
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=962021903579498645
ADB installer- unzip it on your PC. Run the TulsadiverModsInstaller.bat. There will be a menu to choose from. After the Base is installed your phone will reboot. You can then continue to install mods. Your SuperSU should ask you to give adb permission to run as root. After flashing the base, look to see if you have 4 columns in the QS pull down. If you don't, it didn't work, probably because of Magisk.
ADB

I need someone willing to try these.

Edit* just wanted to apologize for my previous post! I thought you were posting a guide in the oe development thread...when in reality your posting cm9/10 roms that you helped develop. I would suggest editing the title of the thread to reflect that its rom development and not just a guide. I do appreciate your work!!!

Yeah I am as well curious, though it seems that if there are drops it would suggest that data is available... I assume this is the build that cvpcs posted about having shaky 4g? (And 3g it seems)
Please pardon the noobish question but is there a way to push these files with terminal emulator? I haven't been able to get ADB to work. I have it and the SDK installed but when i try to push something it says ADB is not a recognized command

Sure..just skip the first two ADB commands (make sure you have the files on your EMMC/internal storage). Start with the "su" command to get root and follow the rest of the directions.
Hello data is not dropping for me at all. Actually better signal then stock touchwiz. I recommend flashing this and trying.

Nice... do you live in a 4g area? My experience has been this device is shaky on 4g, so I might hold out.... but I'm definitely tempted!

Thank you very much. I am almost scared to ask the next question but when plugging my phone in to the pc i get the window that pops up and lets me go to Card or Phone. Obviously emmc/internal storage would mean for me to copy these files to Phone but I also am rooted and have CWM installed. If I did a nandroid right now before installing CM9, would I be able to restore it if needed after installing the Kexec touch CWM?
Thanks again for all help.
Yeah, I would also like to know what the LTE situation is with this. Not really pressed, though, as it's early in development. Great to see work like this happening.
Any chance for a CM10 build?

Double post, but dumb question: What is "emmc"? Is that the folder that opens when you double-click "Phone" on the Card and Phone folder, which opens when you link the phone to a PC? That's where my previous img's were located...
My data shut off after about a half hour. Now I can't get it past No Service and Roaming (No SMS/MMS, Voice, nothing); just a heads up for those who want a preemptive taste of CM9.

The EMMC is the internal storage. Just place the files on the root of your internal storage (not in any folders)

Full Screen?

Hi,
I have root,is there anyway we can make use of this great screen easily by getting rid of the navigation on the bottom and the google search bar then use a pie app for navigation?
Cheers.
PS I did search the forum but did not see this question come up.

FYI this has been covered in at least a few threads here.
But this is what I did-
Install this app (it's what I use) or a similar one of your choosing- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tk.eatheat.pie&hl=en
And add this line to your build.pro to get rid of your navbar- qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
Reboot after editing your build.prop.
That's all you gotta do.

Did you edit anything else in your build.prop? All that does is trick the phone into thinking you've got hardware keys, thus eliminating the need for a navbar. There's no reason why that mod alone would cause your phone to not boot. Can you get into fastboot or recovery?

Just download the stock ROM and pull it out of /system. There should be one over in the dev section.
If you're not familiar with adb, you should probably be able to copy the build.prop over with the file manager in TWRP. Just put it on your SD and use TWRP to move it to /system.
If you have trouble finding the build.prop just let me know and I'll pull mine and post it for you.

[GUIDE] Download Booster Working (Verizon Version)

MODIFIED TO NOW WORK WITH VERIZON.
Confirmed working on Verizon Retail Edition and Dev Edition (no flashing involved, just what is listed here)
Here's a zip you can flash on firmware NCG. Thanks to @BigBot96
NCG auto enabler
OKAY guys I got it working. See screenshots. AND FOLLOW THESE STEPS
Requirements:
Use this services.jar NOT the one from the zip. https://www.dropbox.com/s/3vjq70yfdxrmmj9/services.jar
Root
ES File Explorer (make sure Root Mode is enabled)
v2.1 odex file from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2719582
YMMV, so I recommend copying these two files from your system folder to somewhere safe (external sd or PC) just in case something goes wrong.
GOOD LUCK!
1. Download/unzip the services.odex file from the zip. Download modified services.jar from here (https://www.dropbox.com/s/3vjq70yfdxrmmj9/services.jar )
2. Copy Both files to the /system root folder
3. Fix all permissions to rw-r-r (3 checks in first column, first check in second, rest blank) DOUBLE CHECK THIS (See Attached)
4. Copy services.JAR from the system root folder to the /system/framework folder, overwrite.
5. Copy services.ODEX from the system root folder to the /system/framework folder, overwrite again.
6. Reboot
Mine took a few minutes to boot up, and reodexed everything "Android is updating apps".
?????
Profit.
CLICK THANKS.
btw HUGE thanks to RevelationOmega for doing the hard part!!
Also thanks to joshw0000 and Joderme for testing/helping me come up with this!

No problem! Figured it can only be a soft brick easily fixed by flashing stock again. Better to re-set everything up and do a 15 second root than it is going about having to get a whole new phone

Might be a bit late.. but chances are ADB was still active. When I was trying out to remove the hotspot restriction manuaĺly, by uploading a recompiled framework-res.apk, it also got stuck at the verizon logo in the boot process but i was still able to use adb to replace the file with the original and when it finished copying the phone completely booted.
Anyone willing to send me their services.jar file and test for me? I'll see if I can get this working for you guys.

Is it possible to insert the SuperSU Pro Key to flashable SuperSU (maybe with a little bit modification in the script?) so whenever I flash it, it is in Pro version automatically? No need for separate installation...

So true sir...
There's no reason to answer why would I go to pro when I can enable pro features for free,,, when I have already the key.
What really matter for now is, if it possible to flash 2 apk in just 1 flashable zip.
I think its possible (somehow)... but I don't know how to create flashable zip. Moreover, I really don't know how to create additional script (or what script to be added) needed to be used in order for key be installed too while SuperSU is being flashed.
Seems like, I what to learn on how to create script that will command to install SuperSU then the key afterwards.
If I'm not mistaken (as I am not a developer or what but a totally noob)... commands/scripts in a flashable zip are written in .sh file?

There is no ne to do this...... Just select any apk file abd put it to /system/app folder and restart your device
Would like to further understand something from this too
(i do have linux background)
Technically speaking, what is a rooted device? Is it having the su binary available? Is that what it means?
But then, supersu says that it needs a 'rooted device'.. this is quite rather confusing. doesnt supersu provide root access to apps?
couldnt you combine the key and the app using lucky patcher or a diffrent method?
My device:
Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (rooted)
Rom:AOSP
Carrier:At&t
Dont forget to thank me if i helped

No luck... I flashed the SuperSU then push the key to system/app but the key didnt install itself.
That is why I am trying to fig.out how can I insert the key from the flashable zip.

Not so sure, but a rooted device means having both the su binary and the root access manager (supersu)...?

I'll thank you if you could give me the procedure on how to combine the key. (Or if I searched for it for giving me an idea)... I havent used Lucky Patcher before. If I am able to combine the two in just 1 apk, then I might just replace the existing apk from the flashable zip so when I flashed it, its in pro version automatically.

Ah no problem...
Let me research for that by myself.
So far, giving me an idea nearest to what I want to happen is a big help.
I'll give thanks, then.
UPDATE:
According to chelpus(DOT)defcon5(DOT)biz ...that was an exception to the capability of Lucky Patcher. It cannot be patched when the apps are in two parts (apk and pro key)... Btw, still thanks to everyone who effort to helped me.
Waiting for one who can really help me out for what I want.

Are you really pertaining to "pro key" apk too or other apk file?
It works for other apk but didn't work for pro key apk (in my case)...
AND I am wrong for my term "push" when I did not actually push it, but rather flashed it...
I flashed it right after flashing flashable SuperSU.
I placed the pro key inside a zip file>system>app (Idk where that zip file originated)... then flashed it
(all via cwm recovery).
(Btw, that zip file is really meant to flash apk to system/app or system/framework if you are afraid to push.)
Then after that, "reboot system now".
Viola! Nothings happen, but to go to system/app (look for the pro key) then install it there then restart.
(It works after that.)

OMG!
Downloading and try it ASAP...
FEEDBACK:
It doesn't work. Maybe you just put the pro key inside the zip and you didn't even bother to modify the script so its useless.
Only free version will going to install in the end.

Yes, exactly.
The problem is that people have adopted the term rooted to also mean access to the root of the filesystems, iow, the / directory. ("Just place this file on the root of your SD card," being the most common example of that usage.)
Anyway, with / access you can remount /system to rw instead of ro, and from there you can install the su binary (either in /system/bin or /system/xbin depending on how the dev made the installer).
The apk is simply the front end (user facing) management layer.
And then toss in the common Linux misunderstanding that's bled over to Android that su stands for super user. It doesn't, it stands for set user, but without arguments (the way most people have seen it) defaults to setting you to the root user.
As a Linux user, it might be just as well to think of the apk as your sudo access assistant, and to think of the grant/deny popup as analogous to confirming access with your password.
If you haven't already, install a good busybox (I prefer this one) -
Check out "BusyBox"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox
And then Terminal Emulator and look around just as you would on Linux.
Your filesystem layout will make more sense one you use the df and mount commands there.
Hope this helps.
PS - Also, a thank you for taking down the pro download.

What is happening with Open GApps?

Does anybody know why Open GApps still hasn't added support for the Pixel and Pixel XL?
After playing around with my new Pixel XL all day, I don't entirely see the problem stopping Open GApps from working. Can they not just tell the installer to install to /system/system on Pixel devices? I know one of the major issues is that there is no easy way to tell which slot to flash to, but I feel like if someone is flashing GApps, they are probably competent enough to switch slots in TWRP, and if they don't, it'll just install GApps to the other slot, which shouldn't hurt anything.
As a side note, does anyone know if it's possible to build an Open GApps package of our own that would flash to /system/system of the currently selected slot? BeansGapps aren't customizable and don't contain all of the apps I want.

But it hurts ppls brains when they have to answer the question of "Why are my gapps not loading" kinds of questions people raise often because they dont like following directions.
Also, I'm not sure. I think there is a modified OpenGapps installer floating around the forum somewhere that can be used to install to Pixel. I thought I read a not to long back, but not 100%.

I cannot find any either, and I wish there was. I much prefer to be able to remove any kind of aosp and lineage app and replace it with Google's app. 1st world problem I know, but it bugs me that the aosp and lineage app is there on the rom of my choosing. I want an easy way to flash the Google apps and replace them in the system partition.

Wow, that be wonderful.
I basically want stock packages if possible. That replaces the aosp and lineage ones. If that's what you have or could give it would be much appreciated. If you have a guide or cheat sheet on how you did it, that would be ok too.

Give me like 15 minutes to do it an upload it and then it will work exactly like a normal Open GApps package and you can use a gapps-config.txt file to configure it exactly how you want.

It's the stock package and it will work on the Pixel and Pixel XL (and theoretically any other A/B device). You can use the standard gapps-config file to configure the installation. Also, it needs to be flashed on which ever slot the ROM is on, not the opposite like TWRP.

I've never modified the Aroma one but I assume it's similar. All you have to do is open the install script and replace "/system" with "/system/system", but you can't just replace all because there are several instances of "/data/system", where it would change to "/data/system/system" incorrectly (you could probably stop that with regex). Also, there were two lines with "/system" in regards to mounting that don't need to be changed (I don't remember the exact line numbers but you'll probably know as soon as you see them).

So,
I think Open-Gapps finally put support in for Pixel and all other A/B partition devices. I found this in the Installer.sh code for their latest (5-28-17) super package for ARM64
# Detect A/B partition layout https://source.android.com/devices/tech/ota/ab_updates
if [ -n "$(cat /proc/cmdline | grep slot_suffix)" ];
then
device_abpartition=true
SYSTEM=/system/system
else
device_abpartition=false
SYSTEM=/system
fi
That is something I could not find in the Installer.sh file you modified. Unless you took that out and manually changed system/system?

Yes they did. I actually posted about it in the news/announcement forum when the devs told me they added it on their Gitter chat.
