Bootloop after succesful odin flash. - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

Hello,
I tried flashing TWRP recovery with Odin. Everything went fine, Odin said "PASS". But when I tried to get into TWRP right after the flashing was completed, my device got stuck on the booting screen where it just says "Samsung galaxy s8 plus - powered by android"
If I hold down the power button, nothing happens. I've held it down for longer than a minute and still nothing happened.
If I hold down the power button, bixby button and volume up, nothing happens.
If I hold down the power button, bixby button and volume down, the device seems to be rebooting but still gets stuck on booting screen.
What can I do to fix this? I'm getting quite desperate..

What were you on and what were you flashing to?

I previously flashed TWRP along with stuff like magisk manager.
All I did was flash a newer version of TWRP after having resetted my device.

Which EXACT Model and version of phone do you have? Do you know which build number it was? I'm just trying to get more info so we can help.

I was asleep, sorry.
Anyways, it's the G955F, unlocked Galaxy S8+ from the Netherlands. By build number, do you mean the OS version? If so, it was the latest november security patch (I don't know the exact number). If you mean the TWRP version, that was 3.1.1-2.

I tried getting the bootloader of the build before the latest one. But I can't seem to download it anywhere without having to pay 50 dollars or without having to wait 20 hours for it to download..

Try http://updato.com ?

Oh thanks.
I actually already started a download halfway through yesterday and that just finished. I did that method that you linkedin the video, which worked like a charm. I then flashed the latest firmware and everything worked fine! However, halfway through the "Starting android.." screen, the battery died.. It's charging up right now but I hope nothing was corrupted by that..

Should be ok... ?

I dont know what qbusd means. What do you mean by that? Im going to try and factory restore. The screen is on its just black, the buttons are lit up and the green notification light is blinking. So definately going to try a factory reset
The same thing just happened to me. How can I fix this thing?
Same thing here, downloaded the update fine but when installing got to about 0% and phone locked up with a big red x. Hard reboot got me back in but says update failed. I am rooted but not unlocked, will this affect anything (other than breaking root).

Hard reboot is where you hold the power button for ten seconds right? Because I did that like 5 times. Factory reset is my last option. Maybe I could try running the 1.85 ruu if that can be provided to me and tell me how to use it

Yes, after this my phone tells me the update failed but should work as before, although for some reason my custom ringtone was gone.

Here is the 1.85 ruu, tell me how it goes. I'm willing to give up root for some sense enhancements, all I used it for was to remove crapware anyway.

I actually downloaded the 1.85 RUU from HTC's website, and just finished running it now. I am glad to report that my phone is working again and I am now on 1.85 again. The utility indicated that I was on 2.20.

Problem Booting Note 10.1 n8013

Hello All,
I'm kinda stuck here and I think I have read and tried everything. Wondering if this thing is bricked. Signs tell me know, but don't know what else to do. Anyway here is some info. My note n8013 has a Redemption rom which I have had for a couple of months with no problems. Sorry don't remember the version. Either way I come home one day and its stuck on the boot animation screen. So i reboot it and it has the normal samsung boot screen, then it gets to the rom animation screen and gets stuck again. I cannot get pass this screen at all. Next I try to boot into TWRP so that I can restore to a previous backup. As I hold the power and volume up and reboot I then let go on power and keep holding volume up, then I get to see the TWRP logo, it disappears and reboots. So I am unable to get into TWRP. So then I go into download mode which seems to get there fine, but no matter what I try to flash with odin it fails. I have the same version odin v1.85 and drivers I had when I first started messing with this. I then try all the new versions still no go. I have tried to get the latest TWRP and CWM with odin. Nothing. I have also tried a compatible rom and nothing. Many thanks in advance.

Sorry I forgot to mention what version of windows. I am using Windows 7 SP1 64bit. I am just wondering why I cannot load TWRP direct from my Note anymore. Like I said it shows up and disappears. I have backups I made from that, just cannot get back to restore it.

Did you try to do a factory reset in TWRP and or clear the cache?
Then try to reload factory ROM in Oden.

I think it makes sense for me to brick this some how and maybe get a warranty swap. I've only had this since Oct 2012. I cannot give it to them like this when they see the animation of a custom rom. I've never had an issue with any device till this. Driving me crazy :silly:
Try flash a different recovery is about all left.
Possible likewise flash just a kernel.

Man I tried everything I can think of. It may just be a hardware issue. I called for samsung support and they sent me a shipping label. Hope I can get the warranty with this custom rom animation. they will also see the twrp logo when trying to go to recovery. Makes me nervous about sending it in.
Have you tried installing a new copy of TWRP or CWM in Oden?
I have seen were people have issues starting after TWRP or CWM recovery, they say to make sure that you have un-check "disable Auto Reboot" in Oden.
there is a tutorial here that explains it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2102677

S7 is dead. Help Please!!!!

I have a Verizon Galaxy S7 that I rooted and have been using on T-Mobile. With the new T-Mobile nougat coming out yesterday I tried flashing the new update using Odin. When I tried to flash via Odin it showed failed and my phone was stuck on download mode. So I trying rebooting using the Power + Volume Down and that's when i realized that the phone has been hard bricked. I don't have anything but black screen. When I try to get into recovery it shows "Rebooting Recovery" and then black screen again. Can someone please help me unbrick this phone? Is there anyway to boot from sdcard? Any way to get into a safe mode or something like that?

I'm sorry. I don't think I clarified it properly. When I press the Volume Up + Power + Home I see a set of blue letters saying "Recovery Booting ..." I don't see anything after that. The phone goes back to Black screen and I don't see any of the recovery options.
What do you mean by Download mode "Does not work" ? Can you please elaborate.
Also, try to hold the download mode key combination in for like 20 seconds.

If you're just faced with a black screen when you try to access download mode, try to plug it in with odin and see if it's detecting anything?
I've been in a similar situation where you are now, and by pressing the combinations for download mode for maybe 30 sec the phone restarted itself a couple of times and evetually I got download mode.
One other time I held the combination and I thought I got into download mode but my screen was still black, and just for the fun of it I plugged it into my computer and opened odin.
Odin said "Added", I flashed stock, wiped everything, restarted and it worked! I then flashed stock rom completely again for safety reasons.

Yeah tried all those. Nothing worked. Just gonna send it back to Samsung since it's covered under warranty. Thanks for the suggestions though
Just being curious, if one of those hard brick occur, and i take my phone to service, what would they do to fix my phone? is it even possible to fix it, and how much would they request you to pay?

You voided the warranty as you have rooted and tripped the E-fuse
Happened the same to me because of a xposed module. Black screen with a pulsing blue led. Someone sugested to wait for the battery to drain and then try to connect to Odin. I have not tested it.
At the time i panicked and sent it to Samsung immediately without thinking.
Good luck to you.

Bootloop problem with new EMUI update

Hello, last night i received the message that my phone needed to update itself to the new firmware so i did that.
When the phone rebooted it just put me onto a black screen with the twrp logo flashing every 5 seconds, i figured out that it was because of me running an old version of twrp and i
flashed it and rebooted and everything worked great but then i tried to root my phone with supersu and the phone switched logo in the boot from the honor logo to the android logo and froze there,
i managed to fix that aswell. Now to the problem i am facing right now, the phone got similar problems again so i attempted a normal factory reset, didn't help so i tried to format data and it removed everything but i am still stuck at the infinite booting loop when i start my phone. Does anyone know how to fix this? I do not have the money to purchase a new one
I have access to adb and twrp just so you know.
