Phone stuck on reboot - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I tried downloading the new update. It was fully charged. It finished the download bar and then a red triangle over the phone came up and rebooted. It was stuck on the black screen with the buttons lit up for about 15 min. I restared it by holding down the power button and same thing its still stuck on the black screen. ANy way to fix? I really hope I didnt brick my phone or something

I dont know what qbusd means. What do you mean by that? Im going to try and factory restore. The screen is on its just black, the buttons are lit up and the green notification light is blinking. So definately going to try a factory reset

The same thing just happened to me. How can I fix this thing?

Same thing here, downloaded the update fine but when installing got to about 0% and phone locked up with a big red x. Hard reboot got me back in but says update failed. I am rooted but not unlocked, will this affect anything (other than breaking root).

Hard reboot is where you hold the power button for ten seconds right? Because I did that like 5 times. Factory reset is my last option. Maybe I could try running the 1.85 ruu if that can be provided to me and tell me how to use it

Yes, after this my phone tells me the update failed but should work as before, although for some reason my custom ringtone was gone.

Here is the 1.85 ruu, tell me how it goes. I'm willing to give up root for some sense enhancements, all I used it for was to remove crapware anyway.

My understanding is you can download the stock 1.85 ruu and run it from your pc while your phone is connected. Should restore phone to stock. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...

Yes. I assume that you locked the bootloader with a custom rom or recovery installed.

I see. I'm sorry I missed that part. The only thing you can do is call AT&T and get a warranty exchange.

Help needed with Desire S

Had it in my pocket yesterday and it started vibrating really fast so I assume it was a call or something. Looked at it and there was loads of apps loaded up on the screen and it was just vibrating away with no incoming call.
Only way to stop it was a battery pull. Turned it back on and it went into safe mode. So turned off and on again and it took a long time to boot but did actually come on ok.
However, the screen didnt respond. So another battery pull and it just stops at the HTC logo on a white screen.
Also when it does boot the light to the left of HTC logo at the top seems lit up.
Any advice guys?

Take a look at this there some possible solutions in there
I get the device to boot after 10 mins on white screen with htc logo.
Still in safe mode. I tried adb reboot recovery but just goes to white screen with logo again.
Did you try ruu or something else inside the thread i linked?
Is your device s-off via revolutionary?
I got into recovery after waiting for a long while. But the only button to respond was the power button meaning I could only reboot.

Good that means adb is working
Try the adb commands within the thread I linked
Or try to use an ruu to restore your partition table or another solution of the following link, but it's quiet strange that your volume buttons don't work or are they just not working within recovery? If they are don't also don't work within bootloader, it looks like there is more damaged than the partitions, your choice, try a ruu or another solution of the linked thread or send your device to repair for warranty (what you also can do after you have tried the other solutions)

I have managed to get it to boot with out safe mode being active. But screen isnt responding and I cant unlock the phone. Recovery still wont let me navigate the menus.
Is there any way I can return it to stock without having to navigate recovery so I can take it in for repairs?
Any way to put it back to s-on?
Sry man, but if you don't read what i'm linking there's not much hope, all possible solutions are in there, including ruu what would exactly do what you want to and not only that it also could fix your problem.
Ruu <- click on this
download the ruu for your region
Plug your device to usb
put your phone to fastboot (inside the bootloader)
Be sure that htc drivers are installed (maybe install AND uninstall htc sync [the drivers are still present])
Execute the the ruu and follow the instructions
I am about to try this, awaiting download of RUU. Although I am not sure which to use.
Mine is sim free stock from carphonewarehouse. So I am grabbing one of the HTC Euro RUU files.
Is there any way to tell which to get?
And I have read the links. Most of it doesnt work so trying the RUU
Just managed to get the buttons working. So doing a restore to see how that goes. Then will try RUU

Will be the right one i think.
In common it depends on in which country or from which provider you bought it.
Sry, in some special cases (mostly related to alpharev/revolutionary) they don't, but for others they worked very well

[Q] HTC One s wont boot

Hi, I am new to the forum as a member, although i have been on here before browsing. Think its excellent and helped me alot with my old htc.
My phone went completely dead today, for some reason it wouldnt take charge from my car charger. I got home and charged the phone, it switched itself on, but wont get past the HTC ONE splash screen. I have rebooted it several times.... any ideas?

Try the factory reset option. Your data will still be there afterwards you will just have to setup the phone again.
If you haven't rooted the phone or unlocked the bootloader it's best you stop trying to fix it yourself before you blow your warranty. Try the factory reset and if it doesn't work start calling and trying to get a replacement.
Also, all questions go into the Q & A forum.
Hold the power and volume down buttons until the phone turns off and reboots itself into the bootloader. Then factory reset from here.

Factory reset in recovery? Might be worth a try putting one file on the storage and doing a reset through recovery. I doubt it though, since it removes locking and if it didn't wipe out would give access to all your photos and documents.

I have had this before when i first started to flash and messed up! all you have to do is keep holding down the power and volume down! just wait keep trying it. eventually it will go in fastboot . Connect your phone to your PC then in recovery click mount PUT THE RIGHT VERSION OF THE ROM in your sd card and then unmount, Go to Wipe (factory reset, system, cache, cache delvik) do it in that order then install the zip.

It depends on what Tegra rom you flashed. Some of them will hard brick your phone (which sounds like you), some can be recovered.
If you have a Windows PC, plug your phone in and open Device Manager and see what pops up. If you see QHUSB_DLOAD, you've got a brick.
Thanks

Yeah I get QHUSB_DLOAD. So if i take it in to get it replaced, is it so messed up that they won't even be able to tell it's been unlocked, and just replace it? I have insurance and I've had it less than 14 days. Or could I just report it stolen or lost?
The AT&T insurance covers pretty much everything. No need to lie, just tell them it doesn't work.

I also have bricked my M8

So I was playing around trying to get Sound MOD to work(dont ask me y..I was bored) And I have bricked my phone. I am stuck on the white HTC screen the one at the begining of the boot..the one that says this build is for development purposes..blah blah. and it is just stuck there. Adb wont find device or nothing..I am truly screwed..yes?
Well, ADB wouldn't be able to do anything at that point anyway. It's not fully booted, or in the bootloader.
Have you tried powering it off, and booting to the bootloader? From there recovery, do a factory reset, and see if it boots then?

So you've tried doing a factory reset, and afterwards it still just gets stuck during boot? And do you mean it boots back to the HTC boot screen after restoring an image and rebooting, or you select "Restore image" (or whatever) and it instantly reboots and gets stuck?

Ok so update: I was SOMEHOW able to get into recovery(TWRP) but no matter what i try to do it just reboots back into recovery..any ideas?
EDIT: gonna try verizon RUU. Fingers crossed
Just a thought here. TWRP can install from USB. I have flashed from a thumbdrive in the past on an S3. You may be able to do same. I know this is a shot in the dark but may help.
Will it just sit at the recovery screen or does it boot before you touch anything? If it will sit at the TWRP main screen you should be able to boot into hboot via adb and try a reflash of twrp or CWM. Your recovery may be corrupt.
You're definitely not bricked. You're catching breaks left and right.

S7 is dead. Help Please!!!!

I have a Verizon Galaxy S7 that I rooted and have been using on T-Mobile. With the new T-Mobile nougat coming out yesterday I tried flashing the new update using Odin. I'm sorry. I don't think I clarified it properly. When I press the Volume Up + Power + Home I see a set of blue letters saying "Recovery Booting ..." I don't see anything after that. The phone goes back to Black screen and I don't see any of the recovery options.
What do you mean by Download mode "Does not work" ? Can you please elaborate.
Also, try to hold the download mode key combination in for like 20 seconds.

1- Waits for the battery to be empty ( if phone can be charged again )
or
2- use jig to force phone to star download mode

If you're just faced with a black screen when you try to access download mode, try to plug it in with odin and see if it's detecting anything?
I've been in a similar situation where you are now, and by pressing the combinations for download mode for maybe 30 sec the phone restarted itself a couple of times and evetually I got download mode.
One other time I held the combination and I thought I got into download mode but my screen was still black, and just for the fun of it I plugged it into my computer and opened odin.
Odin said "Added", I flashed stock, wiped everything, restarted and it worked! I then flashed stock rom completely again for safety reasons.

Yeah tried all those. Nothing worked. Just gonna send it back to Samsung since it's covered under warranty. Thanks for the suggestions though
Just being curious, if one of those hard brick occur, and i take my phone to service, what would they do to fix my phone? is it even possible to fix it, and how much would they request you to pay?

You voided the warranty as you have rooted and tripped the E-fuse
Happened the same to me because of a xposed module. Black screen with a pulsing blue led. Someone sugested to wait for the battery to drain and then try to connect to Odin. I have not tested it.
At the time i panicked and sent it to Samsung immediately without thinking.
Good luck to you.
