Pokemon Go Plus Bluetooth connection problem - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

I am trying to connect a Pokemon Go Plus bluetooth device to a Honor 6X that has never been rooted. The device sometimes shows up in the bluetooth settings list but most of the time nothing appears in the list. Pokemon Go sees the device in the game settings but always fails to connect.
Other devices also don't connect and rarely show up in the bluetooth settings list even though other devices can see them as discover-able.
There doesn't appear to be a way to "forget" a previously connected bluetooth device in the Honor 6X's settings.
I contacted Huawei who keeps saying to do another factory reset but that isn't helping.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this? Is there a solution? Is there somewhere I can find the "forget" bluetooth setting?

Yes, there is a way to forget a device previously registered. Go on Bluetooth menu (or long press Bluetooth icon on shortcuts panel) and activate Bluetooth; under there you'll find previously registered devices. Tap on the information icon beside (the "i") and on the following menu, tap on "forget" or dissociate.

ActiveSync stopped working!

Case data:
- Stock and new HTC Touch Pro, fw 1.90.401.1.
- I think this has started somewhere around after I played with Advanced Configuration for Diamond (read below).
- I also tried to change everything back to normal (in the tool) but it didn't fix anything.
- I didn't touch anything that can be considered related to the case except maybe the Comm Manager modes that A.C.f.D. has (and tried the extra buttons) ...I did some changes but A.C.f.D. seems very buggy in that area and now I am back to what I think was the default.
- Internet Sharing is disconnected.
- When I set USB to PC to go to disk drive mode, it works.
- When I set USB to PC to DISABLE advanced network functionality, WORKS (don't want to stay like that, since the "good mode" worked fine).
- When I set "ask about connection type" DOESN'T ASK (anymore)!
- When USB to PC is in advanced network functionality, nothing happens. ActiveSync doesn't start and WM Device Center doesn't detect anything. I think something very briefly flashes in my Vista notification area (possibly some USB detection that goes on and off?).
...this (and the ask connection type above) is my problem. It worked fine before.
- Bluetooth ActiveSync works.
- WiFi works ok and 3G is enabled.
I have made plenty of soft resets (and PC reboots), I want to try to avoid hard reset if possible.
Any ideas?
edit: Noticed that in device manager, when I link with the "problem" mode that doesn't work, I get "Remote NDIS based Internet Sharing Device" in my network adapters. Is this normal? I think this only shows when Internet Sharing is enabled in WM... maybe it is stuck in this mode somehow?
Forget it!
The last edit above, made me think.
So I went to Internet Sharing, verified that it was disconnected, clicked connect.
It briefly popped that I should check my USB connection (aha) but then connected anyway!
So I clicked again to disconnect and this eliminated the network adapter mentioned above (in my Vista) and returned to the (normal it seems) "Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter" and ActiveSync kicked in!

I think this thread should go to the issues thread?
Internet sharing can wreck advanced network functionality
I had the same problem: first I only noticed the usb popup not popping up, then of course activesync also didn't connect. Every other thread advises to turn advanced network functionality off, which fixes activesync, but the usb popup selector doesn't come back, and I think this way the system reverts to some compatibility mode. I didn't like this.
I kept searching for the phrase "advanced network functionality stopped working", which finally brought your message, with the solution, thank you for taking the time to post both the problem and the solution.
PS: Now I posted the keywords which came to my mind, hopefully helping to find this solution easier.
Thanks so much bro for that... It was a pain trying to find a solution. But once again search comes out the solution.!
Hm, I had the issue where ActiveSync completely quit. I could use internet sharing or disk drive functions and my Raphael would charge, but the USB connection would not come up and ActiveSync would not connect. My contacts and appointments disappeared from my phone.
I was able to solve the issue by uninstalling a recent cab I had added, which merely served to replace my Bluetooth taskbar icons. No idea why this cab caused such awful behavior, but I'm glad to have avoided a hard reset.

USB Connection menu gone!

Hi.
I'm using the TP for quite some time now without too much hassle, but one thing annoys me.
For a few days the selection menu is gone when you connect your TP to USB. Normally it pops up a screen to select ActiveSync, FlashDrive or Internet Sharing mode.
Now, it just uses the last selection and I've never switched on the "Don't ask me again" button.
I've found the USB to PC settings which do about the same, but even if I switch on "Ask about connection type when I connect" it just doesn't. And then, I like the TouchFLO popup better.
Anyone a suggestion on how to get the selection screen back?
Thanks a bunch!
If you go to parameters, connexion, Usb parameters, you need to activate :
- Activesync (synchronise with Outlook)
- Activate the functionnality advanced netwerk
- Ask the type of connexion when connected
Same here.
im too afraid to tick the dont ask again box insase i cant find it again. it does sometimes not appear though
Perhaps the USB cable you use is not optimal.
Do you try also with the original one??
As strange as the menu disappeared, it was there again yesterday all of a sudden.
It appears "fixed" but I must agree, it doesn't show every time... Definately...

[Q] Device name for Bluetooth Problem UPDATE

Back in Froyo, I used the option under "Bluetooth Settings," "Device Name" to change the the default name to "RB-SGH." (That was because we have a pair of these and I wanted to be able to see which one was connected to our BT enabled house phones.)
The problem is whenever the phone is powered on, the device name reverts to the default of "SGH-T959V." Then none of the BT devices paired to it will connect. If I turn BT off and back on again -- the name changes to "RB-SGH." Then all paired devices are happy again.
I used a build prop editor could see no place where the new name is stored. I rooted the phone and flashed a custom ROM -- no difference.
How can I get rid of the new name or have the same name show up everytime?
UPDATE:
I figured out that the problem isn't the name. On power up with BT on, the phone doesn't recognize any of its paired BT devices. If BT is turned off and back on, it displays the paired devices and all is well. It's annoying but manageable. Any thoughts on a fix?
My current rom is GB Barebones

Honor 6 L04 and Sony Smartband SWR10 "no connection"

Hi,
i am trying to connect both devices, but the Smartband is not shown under android bluettoth settings. Unfortunately the Honor 6 L04 does not have NFC. But i doubt this would help.
I tried following things.
With the Apps "BLE Scanner" or "Bluetoth LE Scanner" i can find and connect the smartband. The apps say that its connected and the Smartband acts like it is connected (LED's).
Unfortuantely the Smartband Settings can only be accesed via Sony SmartConnect, but i cannot start Smartband Settings since it's not connected via android blueetooth menu.
I tried "adb shell am start -a com.sonyericsson.extras.SETTINGS" and the smartband settings menu appears, but status says its not connected.
Smartband is working (naturally) with a Sony Xperia Z and my Lenovo Yoga Tab 2.
Any ideas?
I found out that the Smartband settings are also accesible via Sony Lifelogger. Don't need adb shell method. Not connected either.
Also "BLE Scanner" says connected, but not bonded. "Bluettoth LE Scanner" says BLE Supported, connected but unbonded.
No suggestions everyone how to isolate the problem?
I would be very grateful.

I have no Sony Smartband but I have a Pebble and a Moto360.
I had big trouble to transfer Weather Data from my Huawei (H60-L02 rooted) to Pebble. And or Weather and location Data from my Huawei to Moto360.
The devices where connected well - and everything seems fine. But after a few hours - no Weather Data no location Data.
All settings in "Telefonmanager" check: StartUp Programs ok, Notification ok, Trusted Apps ok...
Nothing helps.
No I have freezed the "Telefonmanager" with titanium Backup. Everything is working perfect now!
The Problem with loss notifications from WhatsApp are history now
If your Device is rooted - try to freeze this App - and test again. I think this app will cut or prevent connections
Hi JimKnopf13.
I am not rooted at the moment, and i want to stay unrooted as long as possible for various reasons (warranty, etc).
My problem is that under bluetooth settings the smartbans is not shown/listed and that it is not bonded (with the Bluetooth BLE tools). Your's is that the connection is not reliable. Can you explain why i should freeze the "Phone Manager"? What's the connection between the two different cases?
ok, then it is a different thing.
I can see my Pebble and my Moto in the bluetooth settings. I can connect.
Only later, I think when the phone enter the sleep mode - all Data from Weather provider are blocked.
When I freeze the telefonmanager - everything working well.
Any developers here that can sched a light at this topic?

Android Auto on Mate 9

Hi,
I am not sure if this problem is related to
- Mobile Phone
- Android Auto
- Car
So my question is: Does someone already has a working Android Auto connection with a car´s radio with this phone?
If so, I will continue this in Android Auto section.
Today I upgraded build to: MHA-L29C432B138
Car/Radio: Opel Astra K (MY2017)/ Intellilink R4.0
The connection could be established. But screen of car stays black. When touching screen or saying "OK Google" it accepts voice command.
My Mate 7 works perfectly...
Best regards,
Robert
no idea... working oke on my golf 7 2015 mib2 unit..
u using original cable... i also try ith lumia 950 cable, also usb-c but random disconnecting with this cable.
P9 is also working. I guess the problem is Mate 9.
Mine works with Pioneer but doesn't work well. It Will not play anything already downloaded to the device unless you connect phone to head unit forest and actually play something through Bluetooth first and THEN connect it. All permissions are set correctly etc. And what is with having to give it permission to use the data on the phone EVERY SINGLE TIME?
US model working flawlessly with 2016 VW Golf R... I did have to reinstall audible and spotify after connecting the first time in order for them to show up in the menu, but other than that, no issues with connecting, audio skips, etc. Very happy! Samsung S7 Edge was unusable with AA.
Got the International Mate 9 Pro and AA is working perfectly fine with my Pioneer 4100nex. I'm on the latest Pioneer firmware 1.09 if that helps anyone.
Works like a charm
What settings do you guys have? Do you have usb debugging or anything like that enabled in dev settings? Every time I hook up it comes up with the dialogue box to enable data access. Whether I click enable or not it will not play anything stored on phone. I've had this confirmed by Huawei Australia. They couldn't get it going either.
I have all the correct permissions set for all apps including android auto.
Any hints?

In developer options I do have "Always prompt when connecting to USB" turned off and "Select USB Configuration" set to MTP. I don't get prompted for anything on the phone. USB Debugging is off. I don't try to play anything from USB though, just use AA, Spotify, and Audible.
Other than that, I do have an Automagic script that when car ui mode is entered, the screen gets turned on, Waze is launched, slide to unlock keyguard is dismissed, and wifi is turned off. I won't need to do most of this when Waze is AA compatible, but until then, I can't live without it. This script works about 90% of the time, still haven't finished tweaking it for 100% success. Worst case, I have to turn the phone back on, swipe down on the notification panel, then select waze from "Notification Shortcuts".

Seems this is possibly the issue. Whenever I connect usb it automatically changes the usb connection type to charge only. Won't let me change it to mtp, audio or anything else. Wonder if there is a hidden setting somewhere in emui that does this... Tried it in dev settings. Same issue. Charge only

I couldn't find anything else that I changed that seems relevant. I'm just using a standard USB to USB-C cable (Anker PowerLine+) plugged into the USB port in my VW Golf.
Did you change both of those settings I mentioned? If so, when you go back into dev settings does "Select USB Configuration" still say MTP, or did it default back to Charge Only? Maybe you have to reboot after? dunno...

I changed those 2 you said but as soon as I plug in the Huawei cable (thought maybe it needed the Huawei cable) it changes itself to charging...
I'll keep looking into it. Thanks for your help though. This is obviously the issue.
I'm having the same issue in the US version on a 2017 VW GLI. My last two phones worked flawlessly.

Mine goes to charge only as well however my android auto is working perfectly.
It connects and on the phone side it seems fine but the head unit screen goes black and doesn't do anything.
Hi.. Is there anyway to prevent WhatsApp notifications showing up in android auto?
Mate 9 L29 - B156 in a Seat Ibiza 2016.
Android auto working fine.
You have reviewed android permissions, or if Google app or maps are set to close when the screen is turned off And enable activation?
In my old zenfone 3 that was the problem
Did any of you guys tried to enable the USB debugging mode?

JA! This was first thing, but no success.
I am also disappointed by Huawei customer care. They just point at Google and say it is not their fault.
Does anyone know how to log / where to find the log when "Force logging" is enabled in dev options in AA?

Open android auto, go to about, tap the Android auto title 10 times, you will see a toast saying your developer. Now from the 3 dotted menu on the right select developer options locate force logging and make sure it's enabled
