it's Middle East. But there wasn't official update to 8.0 for any L29 phones, only Chinese. So it's something exclusive you've got there

You may even have a L09 if someone has had it before and reflashed the phone, loads of guides the main one is on here, can't hard to understand but read through the threads
No mankind did a guide called Rebrand in guide sub
On a side note you really shouldn't share your IMEI publicly.

I have bought this phone 2 months back from Abu Dhabi when I was there for vacations. The phone variant as mentioned above is Frd-L09C185. Now I am back in India (Mumbai). I am a bit confused with the OTA updates part. My query is now that I am here will I get the OTA meant for Indian Variant or the EU Variant ( I guess that's what L09 belongs to). Secondly if me suppose to receive the updates for the European Variant will I receive them here in India. I want my phone to be updated to the latest version. My current version is FRD-L09c185B102 where is guess B102 is the os version. Request all you experienced guys to please help clear my query. Thanks in advance.

I think its middle east variant. You won't get Indian version update. As India has FRD-02.
So is there no way to update phone over OTA? I don't wanna do it manually as I don't wanna take a risk of damaging it. I am currently on B102 OS version and when I try to update it I am told there are no updates available. So if my phone is from middle east can't it be updated in India?

You will receive the Nougat update. But it will take more months to reach you are you are in Middle East version (Less prioritized)

Seems that your region got the Bet update version today.
If you are enrolled in Beta, you would have got it - http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1278/g104/v68848/f1/full/update.zip
You can try with Charles trick to update this one.

ok. Did you receive this update after coming down to India or while you were in Abu Dhabi?
I had received this update - B130 immediately after the purchase in Dubai in Dec 2016 and after that havent received any update.

Tried the Charles app method.. Quite a few times. The update was just 1.39 GB not the 2.2 gb because of which The update failed and dint try there after. Guess will now have to wait for the official push(sigh). I have no issues with EMUI 4.1 currently and in fact quite happy with it. Just bcos of the eagerness to upgrade don't want to brick the phone, especially since Huawei doesn't have international warranty policy.
Is vote support extended by Huawei to honor 8 FRD-L09 model? I am in India and would love to have the volte feature. As of now on LTE is available. Had read somewhere that VOLTE would be soon provided via software update. Also heard that Indian variant FRD-02 has received the VOLTE support

I am a mate 9 owner from Saudi Arabia. The latest update I have is B126. I read online that there's some new updates available. My question is which is the official source to follow up with Mate 9 updates and news? I can't find anything on huaweis website. Other than reading it randomly on websites I like to have an official page or something where I can get the details. Please help.
I guess you have c185b126 and the latest is c185b138.

It's not a good idea to show ur imei in screenshots.
To answer your question, there is no official source. It would be very hard to keep track because there are many sub-models.
Usually if there's new Mate 9 firmware, I post about it in FunkyHuawei thread.

As of right now, the latest version we have any evidence of for the C185 is B138, so yes. You're up to date.
A little bird tells me the next version should be over 140. But I don't have specifics.

Nope, hasn't received it yet. Last update was April 5th I believe. Pretty lame and pathetic if ask me. Huawei wants to break into the US market they are going to have to start doing better than this. Had it to do over with, I'd got something else besides this phone.

There is only a beta release for our c567 so far, to install any of the ones for other regions you're going to have to unlock your bootloader, rebrand, and install that Oreo using the steps in other threads, our mate 9 c567 Oreo should be rolling out as an OTA update in a few weeks so I'd be patient and wait a while, I installed a different regions ROM and want really happy with it at all.

So I bought a (supposedly) sealed Mate 9 on ebay as a Christmas present to myself, and it's great! but i'm not getting any updates.. its an MHA-L29, Build no MHA-L29C432B182-log.
I'd previously been onto Huawei on facebook with an update query on my Mate 8, so I queried them about this phone with the same question. This was what I got back:

Thank you for getting back to us.
We have tried checking the IMEI numbers of your Mate 9 device in our system and although on the consumer website we were prompted with the information that the device is intended for China, while running them through our other software tools we were unable to gain access to any type of information.
For this reason we won't be able to provide any details related to the current Build Number available for the device, or any other details related to the updates intended for it.
Should any other questions arise, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I wont be much help on this subject, but you would certainly rebrand to a different region. There are a few threads around for that, Then use the region you want.

So, it is definitely Chinese model.
1. Huawei didn't tell you much info, just point to China.
2. Model that is selling in Europe can't have log suffix in build number. This is ROM for test purpose with logging and sending info to Huawei. Chinese sellers flashed it by inadvertence.
Don't look on it was sealed. It is too easy to seal box again.
Well, you can stay at C432 region, but I recommend flash release version like B198 using Firmware Finder.
Otherwise you can return to Chinese region ( C00 )
In this case you must get unlock code and unlock bootloader. Turn "oem unlock" in developer settings and remember that option is on world ROMs only.
Then you will able to rebrand.

Would there be any benefit in putting a Chinese rom on? Am I right in thinking that China versions are getting Oreo at the moment? I'd rather not go through using the tool and rebranding (did it before with my Mate 8) so I think i'll try to work out the firmware finder app!

I believe the Chinese versions are somewhat limited and cannot access some Google apps and services.

It needed a reset of course, so I had a fun evening of rebuilding and signing into all my apps while at the same time completely rebuilding my media centre pc which had refused to boot.. yay. Good times.

Well, even if you updated, you're still "out of region". So chances are you won't get any update to Oreo.
Oreo builds for C432 are named MHA-L29 8.0.0.xxx (C432) in Firmware Finder, same with MHA-L09.
So you could try updating to Oreo through FF.
Thanks, I'll keep checking the finder app. I'd rather stay on the c432 chain as I'm in England if that makes a difference. Is Oreo still in beta for 432? So far they all say not approved for installation.
i have a mate 8 NXT-L29c185b200 (middle eastern version i guess) and i am gone mad just trying to figure out how the ****ing do anything( sorry for the language, i am soooo frustrated). i wanna update to nugget version but cant see to figure out how. even if i found out threads every single link is dead.
already unlocked and twrp flashed. can anybody please point me toward any direction ...... anything would be a great help. and can anybody explain me how the region and build model or whatever that is works, so many numbers, thats the one making me confused so much.
You can by downloading naugat firmware from firmware finder then update but you have to be on stock recovery
Just download firmware finder app from play store enter your model choose nauget firmware you want to update then follow the instructions to update and again you have to be on stock recovery
