Hello,
I have been crack flashing for a long time, but when I got the Droid Maxx from verizon I was disappointed at the lack of an unlocked bootloader. I had been running safestrap and was getting the phone ready to return for a refund so I can get the developer edition.
So, it looks like using safestrap I completely wiped the system partition. I can get the phone to boot to flashboot mode or to the safestrap flash screen but that is all.
Using RSDlite I attempted to flash 12.9.0, but get the return message "Failed flashing process. 2/17 flash partition "gpt.bin" -> Phone returned FAIL. On the phone it said:
"downgraded security version
update gpt_main version failed
preflash validation failed for GPT."
So it looks like the issue might be because I am flashing the FXZ file for 12.15.15, but I cannot find the FXZ file for it.
I also tried using House of Moto. Attached is a screen shot of what I get.
So basically it looks like I have no ROM whatsoever. Is there a way out of this so I can return the phone for a refund?
Thanks in advance!
I realized that I had not set things up correctly for House of Moto, I ran it, and boot.img, system.img, and motoboot.img are not loading because they are from the previous image and it will not allow a downgrade.
So, I guess I need to get the factory image of the latest update, or perhaps get those *.img files from someone with a working phone and drop them in to folder before flashing.
Anyone have the factory image after the OTA? Or perhaps the missing files I need (if dropping them will actually work, of course)?

I am having the same problem only I am on the Droid Ultra and not the Maxx, I too need the files for the latest OTA because the two older files are supposedly out dated for me, i get a bunch of failures. What sucks is some files were clearly restored because it erased Safestrap and now i have stock recovery but it didn't restore the OS or anything so i cannot boot up into anything but fastboot....hopefully someone uploads the latest ota to the site or even the forums....good luck to you. i need it as well.

I'm in the same boat, but not quite as bad. I've got the mini, and it boots into the normal mode, but not all things work - touchless controls crash every time I try to open it, and my calendars won't sync. My recovery is gone, when I try to boot into it, I get an android logo with it's chest open with a red triangle.
I tried using RSD Lite and fastboot with the original stock image files, but the result are the same. I'm going to hold out for someone to post an image with the OTA included or another workaround. Amazing how we got the same problems at roughly the same time after the OTA.

if yours boots into the OS maybe you can still root it, after you root it you can then modify system apps, getting rid of touchless control and then reinstall it, may fix the force close. also if you manage to gain root you could install safestrap. the android with the triangle is the stock recovery, i forget what buttons or button combination you have to hit to make the menu appear but that is the stock recovery by what you're describing
So I just got back from the Verizon store, I went in to see if they could flash the files I need. They told me they couldn't but gave me a number at motorola to see if they would e-mail the files to me.
Unfortunately that didn't work. Motorola said I could send the phone in for a repair, and that was my only option.
I think I'll take the second option and wait until someone posts the files and flash them with RSD Lite.
I just hope that happens soon, as I am wanting to return the phone and get the developer edition. I have until Saturday to return it and I doubt they will give me a refund with it in this state.

Here's the issue, I can't boot into write-protected off mode. When I tried running HouseOfMoto, I flashed stock recovery for pre-OTA; since I received the OTA, I can't install PwnMyMoto, which is what gave me the write-protection off mode in the first place. Now when I go from the bootloader into recovery, I get the dead android + red triangle, what you call stock recovery.
I have root level access, but it's all but useless since the system is write protected. In other words, no Safestrap. I'll have to live with what I've got until someone finds time and reason to upload the post-OTA image or something newer.
Edit: Fixed it, maybe it will work for you guys. Check the PwnMyMoto thread for the source, I can't post it due to being new.

If you used 1.1 and have a problem with recovery coming back, run the following command:
adb shell su -c "dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery"

With my issue I cannot even get to the point where I can use ADB. I am pretty much stuck with fastboot commands. I can get the bootloader and stock recovery, but nothing more.
Is there something that I can edit in the update file that would allow the version downgrade test to pass? I've played around with the XML file, but I am not having much luck.

Your only current options are to wait for a newer FXZ or have Motorola perform a repair on it.

Thanks, that was what I was afraid of. I guess now I will check obsessively for the new FXZ files. Got have some way to spend my day (you know, as opposed to doing my job ).
KitKat the EASY Way!!!!
Or, go back to 4.2.2 JellyBean
If you are going to return your phone back to warranty, I would suggest this method in this thread as it does a COMPLETE wipe of your device and puts it back to 'Factory'. It removes Root Flags so it does not show having been rooted, and removes ALL data.
Disclaimer: This is not MY method, but a method I used. The information and files have been figured out over time by many individuals and it's been combined in this thread.
This thread is to help Noobs AND Veterans to flash their ATT D800 LG G2 to KitKat. This will be very spelled out, and I’ve even included a video (see below), so NO Mistakes. Yes, that means you!
PLEASE refer to the Video Below before asking questions, as too many questions get a little overwhelming.
Warning! Please Read!
This WILL erase everything on your phone and put it back to FACTORY STATE, so be sure you’ve backed up!
Ok, first thing you need to do is download the version you want. I’ve got KitKat 4.4.2 version D80020c, and I’ve got JellyBean 4.2.2 version D80010o. These are VERY LARGE files, so be patient, although I am able to get as much as 6MB/s download speeds from this server.
BIG THANKS TO bigfau for the KitKat TOT and DLL files!!!
Download Installer - KitKat 4.4.2 D80020c - This Flashes Stock KitKat, WITHOUT Root, and WITHOUT Recovery. - Use TowelRoot and AutoRec to get Root and Custom Recovery. - Single File LARGE archive. KK MIRROR DOWNLOAD
D80020c Split Archive Download - This is the same archive as above, but split into smaller pieces for easy download.
Download Installer - JellyBean 4.2.2 D80010o - Single File LARGE archive. JB MIRROR DOWNLOAD

Now, for the fun stuff (You may want to print this out for reference and check them off as you go)
Pre-requisites:
1. Be sure your phone is currently running a Compatible based ROM. If not, please flash a Custom Compatible Based ROM onto your phone. (ie: If you have a D800, be sure you have a D800 ROM on it. If you have a D802, be sure you have a D802 based ROM on it.)
2. Be sure you have turned on USB Debugging before starting.
Step #1: Program Installation:
1. Save the installer to your desktop
2. Run the Installer by double clicking
3. Wait a while for everything to extract (It might look like nothing is happening. This can take a few minutes, be patient, it’s HUGE)
4. (On Win7 or Win8, Accept User Account Control)
5. Accept my License
6. Don't Change Anything and click ‘Install’
7. Wait some more… and more… Large files are extracting…

3. Hold the Volume UP Button on your Phone
4. While Still Holding the Volume UP button, plug in the USB cable to your Phone
5. Continue to hold the Volume UP button until your phone enters Download Mode
6. If this does not work, pull the USB cable and start from #1 of this section
Step #3: Change Com Port to 41
1. With your phone STILL in Download Mode and STILL Plugged into Computer
2. Go into Device Manager

12. Close the Device Manager
13. Close the System Window
14. Go back to the Desktop
15. That’s it, You’ve Changed the Com Port to 41
Step #4: Run LGFlashTool:
1. Double Click the ‘LGFlashTool’ icon on the Desktop (Win7 or Win8 accept ‘User Account Control’)
2. In the ‘Model Config’ window, check the box ‘Select Manual Mode’
3. Next to the DLL space, click the Three Dots ‘…’
4. Select the DLL file named ‘LGD800_.....v160.dll’
---a. For 4.4.2 KitKat, select ‘LGD800_20130811_LGFLASHv160.dll’
---b. For 4.2.2 JellyBean, select ‘LGD800_20130904_LGFLASHv160.dll’
5. Click the ‘Open’ Button
6. Next to the S/W space, click the ‘Remove ALL’ Button
7. Next to the S/W space, click the ‘Add’ Button

---a. For 4.4.2 KitKat, select ‘LGD800AT-01-V20c-310-410-FEB-02-2014+0.tot’
---b. For 4.2.2 JellyBean, select ‘LGD800AT-01-V10o-310-410-OCT-19-2013+0.tot’
9. Click the ‘Open’ Button
10. Click ‘OK’ Button to save choices
11. In the LG FlashTool program, click the ‘Yellow Arrow’ pointing to the Right.
12. Wait for the program to verify your DLL and TOT selections (This takes a while)
13. If successful, you will see ‘READY!!’ on ‘Port 1 (COM41)’
14. If you DON’T see ‘READY!!’, you may need to start over
15. If you see ‘READY!!’ unplug your phone from the USB cable and Plug it right back in. DO NOT PRESS ANY BUTTONS ON YOUR PHONE. It should STILL be in Download Mode.
16. The LG FlashTool progam will now start flashing your phone!!
17. At around 80%, the program will restart your phone.
18. It takes a while for the phone to restart, but it will boot to Android. Wait for the flash program to finish and it will turn your phone back OFF. And give you a ‘SUCCESS”
19. Close FlashTool
IF for some reason, the LG FlashTool does not finish 100%, and you get a ‘Fail’, as long as your phone has now rebooted into Android, you don’t need to worry about this. Just close the program, and enjoy your Freshly Restored LG G2!
For anyone having issue with the device check not passing due to mismatched device (caused by flashing a Custom ROM with Different device model ID to your D800: ie, D801 to a D800 or vice versa.), try using the attached dll file instead of the device specific one. It has been reported to work for many... You will need to extract the zip file to get the dll.
good stuff bud!

Just so you know, in step #4 you have 4.4.2 twice But great job man! You might want to use the 10d 4.2 as that is the one that recoveries work best with. Just a thought.

Thank you for that. FIXED.
EDIT: Why is 10d easier? Is it due to the script in ioroot22? I keep flashing 10o, then use ioroot22, then use FreeGee to install TWRP. Easy Peasy. BUT, I might have modified ioroot22 script for that, I don't remember ATM.

I haven't had my G2 very long so I haven't been able to test myself, but just looking around the forum seems the 10o firmware causes boot issues with some custom ROMs. I could be wrong though. Maybe the problem doesn't exist anymore and I'm reading old info.

Ioroot and then freegee TWRP route works on 80100o. Unfortunately, flashing ROMs (stock based and flex based especially) causes issues. I do not think anyone figured out the reason but going to 80100d solves the issue.

So I understand... If you flash Stock 10o, then Root and Flash Custom Recovery, you have issues flashing other ROMs? But if you Flash back to Stock 10d, you do not have issues flashing Custom ROMs?
Also, FYI: ioroot23 was just released... I don't know if that will make a difference. It has 10o support built in.

Yes that is correct.
I am not sure if rooting was an issue. It was the recovery that seemed to be the issue. Not sure though and I guess since 10d worked not many people bothered to investigate further.

i can confirm this is true. i lg flash tool'ed back to 10o, while i could get root i couldnt get twrp or philz recovery to work. when i went back to 10d with lg flash tool, i could get root and recovery to work. i even loki'd a couple recoveries and the recoveries wouldnt only give me a black screen when i tried to enter them on 10o. and i used ioroot23 to do all of this with.
Is this tool safe to use if the phone shows rooted after you go into download mode? Although I swore I unrooted the phone.
Took a chance and did this anyway and all is good. Upgraded successfully! Thank you so much for providing this tool! It was such a pain searching for a serial for lgflashtool. Will be donating asap for the help. Thank you thank you thank you. Directions were perfect as well and very easy to follow.

I'm sorry, I have been away from home. Just read this. Yes, you are fine if your phone is rooted. This Flash will remove Root. As mentioned in the First post, there is currently no way to root KitKat, (Unless I've missed something since last night). So root, then go to KitKat.

That is Correct, no Custom Recovery. Not unless something has appeared since last night when I last went through the forums.
Usefull guide thanks
but i think there is not a difference between those Flash DLL i had 20130904 and just freshy flashed KitKat
also if anyone cares about a LG Flash tools "PASS" then while it stops on 80-94% and boot into OS itself, do a Factory Reset of phone and it will check a Factory Flag (it sets to 5) and gives message a PASS

Hi,
My phone suddenly locked up on me and stuck with following message:
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)
10.9B(*) (sha-61146a2, 2014-07-29 03:17:13)
eMMC Info: Size 32GB
Device is Locked, Status Code: 0
Battery OK
Connect USB
Data Cable
Load Kernel (boot) failed
Fastboot Reason: Boot Failure
I never rooted or flashed the phone or changed anything beyond stock version or OTA provided by Verizon. Tried the different options to reboot, or do factory reset, but keeps coming back to same screen. When trying Recovery option, I get the android picture with the triangle, but then pressing Volume Up and Down buttons at the same time does not do anything.
I am mainly interested in knowing if there is any way/hope to recover any of the pictures/videos that I have stored on the phone. As a secondary item, I am looking for any way to recover/restore the phone to operational condition. While searching for this online, I came across this forum. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Did you happen to set the storage location for your camera to "SD Card"?, because if you did, then just remove the SD Card and use a SD card reader to copy your pics to your PC.
As far as the phone goes, all I can suggest is to use RSDLite to flash the stock firmware while in AP Fastboot mode. Here is a link to RSDLite: http://rsdlite.com/rsd-lite-download/.
Here is a link to the XT926 (Droid RAZR HD) 183.46.15 firmware :http://www.mediafire.com/download/qwgk70yqf38ss86/VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.62-15.1_1FF.xml.zip. This will not wipe your phone, (At least it has not wiped my data as I have used it multiple times).
Before you use RSDLite, make sure you have all the drivers for your phone on your PC and while your phone is in AP Fastboot mode, plug it into your PC and let it load the driver. Let us know if you need any further help

Guapo613,
Thank you very much for the quick reply. As far as memory card, unfortunately it was already full a long time ago, so practically all the pictures and videos I am talking about are on the internal storage of the phone (not the external card).
As far as restoring using RSDLite, are you indicating that this would maintain my data (pictures and videos) and only affect the boot partition? It seems all other methods I came across by searching were indicating that those methods would wipe out my data. It's great if this will help me restore the phone and not affect the data.
Note, the data on the phone is automatically encrypted, so hopefully this method will still maintain the information and allow me to use the same password for access afterwards?
As far as the firmware you pointed me to, is it the same for my phone? i.e., no difference between the Droid Razr HD and the Droid Razr Maxx HD?
Regarding your guidance to ensure all the drivers for my phone are on my PC, can you clarify how I can make sure of that? When I plug in my phone in the current state, it does not seems to be recognized by the PC and nothing is getting downloaded in the form of drivers.
Thanks!

Regarding your guidance to ensure all the drivers for my phone are on my PC, can you clarify how I can make sure of that? When I plug in my phone in the current state, it does not seems to be recognized by the PC and nothing is getting downloaded in the form of drivers.
Thanks!

rsd by default will wipe your data but for you that no longer matters because you said you factory reset and that erases data i recommend following this guide from @SamuriHL http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-razr-hd/general/fxz-4-4-2-183-46-15-t2873083
for your questions the razr maxx hd and razr hd are the same just different batterys and storage sizes
get Motorola drivers from here https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/88481
The XML in the download I provided supposedly has been modified NOT to wipe data and in the times I have used it, it has not. I cant guarantee it will save your data but it has worked for me on both my RAZR HD and my RAZR HD MAXX.

Sorry if I wasn't very clear enough on the factory reset. I mentioned that I tried that option after the Recovery option didn't work, and I know that would typically wipe off the data. However, when I chose it, it very quickly came back to the same boot fail screen, so I don't believe it actually did anything (including deleting any data). Given this information, and if assumption is that data was not wiped off and factory reset did not actually take place, is RSD still the best option, and will it still wipe off all my data? Is there any option I can try that may keep my data while just restoring the boot partition or clearing other areas such as cache (but not touching non-volatile data storage)?

Great, thanks! You are right, I am new and not familiar with any of this so details are very helpful. I appreciate the help and patience that Guapo613 and you are providing. Hopefully I'll be able to get this restored, especially the data (mostly pictures/videos of first baby).
Verizon is your carrier?, did you use Verizon Cloud or Google Drive to back up your phone??, because if you did, then your pics are stored in either or both clouds.

Verizon is my carrier, but unfortunately I do not have most of the pictures/videos on Verizon Cloud or Google Drive. I copied a handful of them to Google Drive when I wanted to share them, but majority of them (95%) are unfortunately not backed up...
BTW, I have one more question. When I looked at the other link that was posted by SamuriHL, it had a warning "IF YOU HAVE NOT UNLOCKED, THIS BUILD WILL PERMANENTLY PREVENT YOU FROM DOING SO. STOP NOW and GO UNLOCK!". Does the same thing hold for the XML you suggested? Should I be doing something else to unlock first, or should I just proceed with rsdlite and your XML?

i believe you were already on the latest ota/update so you cant unlock that is only for custom roms and rooting and it seems like thats not something you want to do anyway,
just be sure to check the xml file and make sure "erase userdata" is gone from the xml that way you have the best chance of recovering your data

I'm going to assume that your XT926 was updated to the latest firmware available for your phone (183.46.15). If that was the case, then dont worry about un-locking the bootloader as this option is not currently supported by your updated phone.
Once you get this thing working again, you can root your phone, read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-razr-hd/general/root-droid-razr-hd-xt926-183-46-15-t3062040

Sounds good. I downloaded and unzipped the RSD Lite (from SamuriHL link, since the original link seems to fail to download 6.1.6 and only works for older versions such as 6.1.5). Currently, I am in the process of downloading the XML (1/3 done, it's pretty big at 753MB). When it's done, am I supposed to unzip it, and then look inside for the modification? How can I tell if "erase userdata" is gone from the xml? I assume RSD Lite is going to expect the XML as an input, or can it take the zip file?
BTW, when I plugged the phone to the data cable, it looks like the battery was run down. It took a little while, but then it came back up to the boot fail screen but indicates Battery Low. Do I need to charge the phone and wait till Battery OK before starting the process?

yes you will unzip the file then find and open the xml file and delete the whole line that contains "erase userdata" also erase any lines that contain TZ and yes the xml is the input for rsd,
im not 100% sure if the battery will charge with no boot.img i don't think it will and in order to flash you need that low battery warning to be gone so check if it will charge and if not you will need to make or buy a Motorola factory cable.

Charge the battery to at least 70% before starting the process.
What I like to do is create a folder on your desktop and name it "RAZR HD" (or RAZR MAXX HD) and place the .zip file I provided in that folder, now just un-zip it inside that folder and when you open RSDLite, just navigate to the folder you created on your desktop and click on the XML document and click on "Start" and RSDlite will take care of the rest

Hi Guapo613,
Sorry for the delayed response. I was away at a conference out of town, and just got back home where I have access to a Motorola charger. It is the travel one, so unclear if it is charging or not. The phone seems to be in a state in which it indicates Battery Low, and then after plugging back with power and back directly to the computer, it indicates Battery OK (switches back and forth during subsequent reconnect).
I got it to Battery OK indication, then extracted the files from the zip as you suggested and started RSDLite with the XML. However, it failed almost immediately. It shows the following output on the first two lines (all subsequent lines are blank other than Port No):
Model Port No. Port Type IMEI/ESN/MEID Status Result
1 USB The phone failed to switch to fastboot mode. FAIL
Fastboot VANQUISH S 2 USB N/A Failed flashing process. 1/17 flash partition "gpt.bin" -> Phone returned FAIL. FAIL
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hi billycar11,
As I mentioned in the post I just wrote to Guapo613, I tried using the xml he provided with RSDLite, but it did not work. Also, when looking at the XML, I did not see any line containing "erase userdata", so I guess that's a good thing (i.e. it was already done in that XML). I did not see any lines containing TZ, but I don't believe I saw any lines indicating that the XML is the input for rsd or where I would change anything to yes. My assumption was that the file is already good as-is since Guapo613 indicated he used it multple times before, so hopefully the changes you noted are not needed.
However, that process did not work, so I am not sure if it means the phone is in a worse state than thought, or maybe it has something to do with the battery and needing the stock (non-travel) charger. Maybe the phone will just not charge without boot.img, but as I noted in the other post, I did manage to get the Battery indication to OK rather than Low (regardless whether there is actually any charge in it or not).
One other note, before it allowed me to at least get to the menu in which I could navigate between options such as Recovery or Factory Reset (even though none of them actually accomplished anything), but now it seems even that is not possible (it doesn't get there when I press Volume Up, Down, and Power).
----> I take this last statement back. After disconnecting and then trying again, it looks like it is still possible to reach that first menu. However, end result is still the same, with Recovery no being able to get past the icon of Android on its back with triangle, and subsequent reboot (requiring down volume and power) getting back to the screen indicating boot fail.
Do you have any ideas on what I should try next?
Thanks!

The screen I keep getting back to indicates at the top "AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)".
Is there anything specific you would like me to try to get into AP Fastboot?
All,
I already know there is a 'guide' on how to do this, however, that is a manual process that one must perform every time we do a system update, or whatever.
I created a flashable you can flash in recovery that will write the line is it does not exist. I have tested this a few time on my 5x, and it works flawlessly, simple, and easy.
This is only for stock 5x unmodified build.prop file. This MAY work on the 6p but not making any promises on that one.
Also this ONLY modifies the build.prop file only if need be
Best Regards
This is great and all, but do you know if you can add the last extra line in? It's for us Sprint users, the whole put global tether thing.

Yes, with the space. I don't know if the other half is needed (adb shell settings put) but maybe someone could test it for you? Not me because I already have tethering set up on my phone and will be away from my computer for the rest of this month

I was just reading the following guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/general/guide-how-to-unlock-tethering-nexus-5x-t3231301
On page 5 i believe people are stating that this is unnecessary to get tether to work.
I already asked in that thread what that does, because in my testing it does not do anything for wifi tether. I'm still on VZW with grandfathered unlimited plan. I can't say about sprint users. Maybe one will chime in that successfully got it to work and if that line is really needed.

I don't know how to implement that command into a flashable zip file atm. I will have to ask around, most likely tomorrow i will post it in the general section.
I am wondering if that writes to some file, and if so what. I am thinking possibly an xml file.
Maybe one of the XML file within: system\customize ? idk, but it sounds like it would write something somewhere.
If i could examine a sprint rom.zip I might be able to locate it if it has it enabled

That's the thing, there are no specific Sprint ROMs. All ROMs are the same, but when it comes to service that's where things get mucky with this. So maybe it is something within a data provision XML or something. Because without that line, yes, tethering is enabled, but it doesn't connect. After that line is implemented, then everything works as normal.

Has anyone tried it on T-Mobile?
Where you able to get the zip to work on Sprint? Thanks so much for creating this!
Hello,
I'm trying to figure out how to use this on my nexus 5x. I'm looking over the instructions on the nexus 5x beginner's tutorial, and was wondering how you actually run this script. I've performed the` manual tethering = true` thing before, but i haven't figured out how to use this one. I've restored everything to factory state and the only thing different from OEM is that the Bootloader is unlocked. I've tried to `adb sideload` the zipfile, but i get an error stating "verification failed, installation aborted" error. Thanks a lot for your help guys

If you want to use it, you must enable OEM unlock in developer options, and unlock bootloader in fastboot mode, and flash TWRP.

Hey CNBLACK,
I believe I did what you've detailed. If it makes sense- this is what i did from completely stock.
1) Unlock USB debugging, and eventually unlock the bootloader
2) Reboot into fastboot mode,
3) fastboot boot TWRP-3.1.~ (whatever the latest build is)
4) adb sideload/install Enable_tether.zip
5) reboot.
The reboot stays on the 4 dot animation screen for 5+ minutes. Should i be waiting longer, or did I make a mistake during the TWRP flashing section? Thanks again for your help!
Update #2: Alright, in order for everything to work, i had to root my phone... So yes, it works for me now
Update: it eventually booted up after doing aforementioned steps. However hotspot will still not work- it still checks for subscription status. I'm running the Android 8.0.0 Security patch level: Sept 5, 2017 Build number: OPR4.170623.006.

in my build.prop, my phone still checks for subscription status, and therefore will not allow me to start a hotspot.
For those of you that are rooted and would like to return back to stock with a relocked bootloader follow the steps.
This could also be useful for those of you stuck with a non bootable device. It will make your device eligible for warranty replacement again.
1. Flash stock boot.img (link) with the following command:
Code:
Fastboot Flash boot Stock_Boot.img
2.Re-lock bootloader with
Code:
Fastboot flashing lock
3. Enter recovery with Vol+ and USB plugged in. Then go down to wipe and Factory restore. Reboot and DONE
Hope this tip is useful to some.

Anyone flash back to stock and have issues installing the latest update? Downloads but won't install?
So I relocked the bootloader before this file was released, by mistake my phone has twrp on both partitions, so when ever I boot it just says device corrupt and reboot I can however access qualcom diagnostics by pressing volume up + volume down at the same time, just wondering if phone can be restored through that interface
Btw as I'm finding out.. This doesn't reset to stock! It does relock your phone and you loose root, but any changes made to the system files while you were rooted sticks.. Ie hosts file changes. I'm back to "stock" and the adaway hosts file changes are still present.. I expect other changes are still there too and that's why I can't flash the update. guess I'm waiting for factory images for a full stock as well)

Or if someone with a US/NA Razer Phone was nice enough to upload and post there TWRP backups before the the partitions were modified. We have a backup for the 3UK people, but one from US/NA Razer Phone, and one from the EU/Non Carrier Razer would help alot of people. I know people have them, just no one willing to share I guess Will probably be months if Razer ever actually posts the Factory Images.
There have been files for both uploaded and it was determined you couldn't use them for 3 phones already.. That's how alot of people got non working phones that just say corrupted now..
Gotta wait till factory images are released if you are on 3.

I manage to find the location of the ota Update.zip and tried flashing it in the stock recovery but it also fails on stage 2.
As you pointed it out. The update is failing because it's still recognizing the system as modified.
I'll leave my link up to help those who are stuck on a boot loop with an unlocked bootloader this will at least make them eligible for warranty replacement so it's something... Follow the steps and then send it off to Razer for warranty replacement. It's a shame really to send out a phone that could easily be fixed with system images. Razer has really dropped the ball. Not having system images from day one really hurt the enthusiast development for this device. If your not able to send it out for warranty replacement then all you can really do is wait for Razer to release the images and I think they may not release them until they release Oreo.
I followed the step-by-step for putting twrp on mine. All seems to go well but it just keeps booting back into bootloader. If I turn it off and hold the vol+ while plugging in the USB I just get the Razer logo and nothing. When I finally gave up I flashed the stock boot in the OP. I'm up and running now but no BT and the latest update just fails. Relocked the BL and no system changes were made since TWRP never seems to have installed, if though I got a successful when complete. I hate to send this back, anyone know if they can reflash it remotely? I'll pay the fee, just need the phone working on WiFi again.
Does this method also work if am rooted, running a stock 8.1 rom and kernal?
Solved Flash Razer Phone To Stock and gain OTA capable!!
This is for the Razer Phone!!!! Fixed Warranty and OTA Update!! As if freshly purchased!!!!
I figured out that unless you use the Razer provided images from their support site your phone will not function properly as any other procedure will be extremely time consuming on a command prompt!!! Imagine individually flashing all components in their respective orders and flashing to both partitions is a requirement so use the provide images and the flashall.sh command included in the downloaded file.
The instructions for gaining the ability to flash the update via windows cmd.
follow the original instructions from the razer support site and the do this for the connection or what it's actually called (Environment variables) you will need to navigate on your pc to the system properties window the click on environment variables, two panes in the window at the lower pane look for the PATH line which is the pathe for the variable to point cmd to file system where your stock razer update is located. If you followed all steps : usb drivers, androis sdk 28.xx or higher extracted to C:/adb folder, navigated to system window then update driver connect phone in bootloader mode then open update driver browse computer let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer and install the android bootloader interface continue even though it says not recomended it works.
now open your razer downloaded factory file and double click flashall.sh and wait till finished then stop the reboot and boot to booloader and open windows cmd and type fastboot devices then type fastboot flashing lock and lock it up, Done sorry for the unorganized text but I'm sure nobody cares as long as it works right? !#fi enjoy!!!
Solved!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I solved this and if you need detailed instructions or help anyone can ask and I will help and yes it does return it to brand new fresh ota and warranty is returned, everything works as it should no bugs wifi works and data on sim.
As for twrp you should flash it to one slot not both as you may know system is on both slots you could have two slots with twrp and no system lol I did that before!
Your phone can be stock but not ota with twrp fyi.

Yeah.. I need help on this one. I tried it and fastboot doesn't allow me to flash_all script.
How do you even double click flashall.sh?
I know this is kind of old but I'm currently having the same problem as a person above. I've tried using the flash_all command but it will only stay at "waiting for device" and doing flash_all.sh doesn't work.
