I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, I thought I was smart enough to try and root the phone but I was wrong. Now it is in a bootloop. I have tried everything...I did a factory reset, flashed, cleared the cache partition, I have used Kies3, Smart Switch, ADB server, tried it all and now I am just needing help if anyone can help me.
I tried to go back to Kies3 but it keeps rejecting my serialnumber for some reason, I even went back to the recovery log in the recovery console to make sure the serial number was right. I am just lost now. The only thing it does is a bootloop and I can get to recovery console, and the bootloader.
If anyone can help I would so appreciate it.

Flash stock with ODIN 3.12.3 or newer, download firmware from updato.com
This is the S7 flat forum though, S7 Edge here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge
I forgot to mention that
I forgot to mention that I did that, could it be possible I used the wrong firmware? If so, how to I make sure it is the correct one?

Hey guys!
So this n00b was going to get rid of all the bloatware on SM-G920F using the following ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...xtrestolite-deodexed-mod-edition-1-3-t3119968
So i used ODIN 3.10.6 and chainfire CF-auto root: https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/
what i missed here is that this auto root was for 5.0.2 and i have 5.1.1
I'm guessing that this is causing my bootloop or bootfreeze?
I can't switch off my phone, screen is constantly at the "GALAXY S6 POWERED BY ANDROID" screen with the small red text "recovery is not seandroid enforcing".
If i hold the volume down, home and power button it will restart/reboot but still be stuck on the GALAXY S6 POWERED BY ANDROID screen.
So what now? i have to wait for the battery to die before i can try to get it in download mode or maybe even recovery mode?
What info do you guys need in order to help? i'm sure there is a simple fix? I'm in Sweden btw
EDIT: So only 2 hours after posting this the screen had gone black... and waiting another 20 minutes i tried to boot it in download mode, and it worked. @ Work right now so i want to try fixing this later today. So any one know for sure how to undo my root that failed? Can i Flash all stock by using Kies3 in download mode?
Appreciate your help guy's
EDIT 2: I can boot to TWRP... tried wipe and recovery. do you think i need to wipe/format data? If i format data what would be my next step? come on guy's help me out here
I think the wrong change of cf-auto-root causing this bootloop and bootfreeze, so if you want to get root change the right version of cf-autoroot. If you want to Flash all stock rom i advice to use odin because i dont know if kies3 can recognize your device

This is what i think as well... You don't happen to know where to find a good trusted root for the galaxy s6 F920F?
Phone started!!
OK so i got the phone up and running again.
i flashed this kernel: https//github.com/AndreiLux/ref-3.10/releases/tag/alpha3
So RGB colours are different and youtube way worse. So this brings me to my next question; Can i do a factory data reset now? Will it make my phone standard again?
I am talking about the factory data reset from settings/backup and reset/Factory data reset... that will erase all storage, device settings etc....
if not... how can i turn my phone back to normal?

To get everything back to normal...
Download latest stock firmware for your phone from Sam Firmware and then flash it via ODIN. Just do it
It will reset your phone, but probably not the contents of internal /sdcard.
Dont use CF-AutoRoot as its not compatible with 5.1.1 anymore. To root your device, just flash any supported kernel you can find for Galaxy s6 as it has preinstalled root in it.
Dont use you CF-Auto root in 5.1.1.

OK. i found this firmware PDA: G920FXXU3COI9 & CSC: G920FVDS3COI6
My original baseband is: G920FXXCOJ5 & G920FXXU3COI9
Will this firmware work for my phone? it is for my country.
thanks for your help so far!
Yes it will work, though if you're from 5.0.2, you can't downgrade anymore after flashing 5.1.1(COI9 based).

Help out a noob here - what do you mean "it has preinstalled root in it?". I may be facing the same problem here. Thanks!

Hi hope you guys can help me. I recently bought an unlock s7 but it has the three network start up screen and three bloatware on it. I downloaded the latest BTU firmware from sammobile and tried to flash it using odin hoping that this would give me a fresh unbranded firmware. When i try to flash the files (AP,BL,CSC and CP) it stops at "NAND Write start' in the dialogue box and "set partition' at the top box. What am i doing wrong? What have i to do to install the unbranded BTU firmware? Thanks in advance
Have you solved this issue ?
I have the same problem now, trying to flash an official stock rom on my S7 and it also gets stuck at "Nand write start".
Try to flash official firmeware without hidden.img inside.
That solved the issue on galaxy s6 series.
Correct me if i'm wrong.

Thanks @juli.freaky, I will give that a try as well.
I also got another possible solution to try to flash the PIT file first.
I will try both solutions
Hope this will help.
You loose all your data if you flash a firmeware with the pit if i'm right but i'm not sure. If you flash the stpck rom without hidden.img you won't loose your data.
That's the situation on the galaxy s6 but i'm not sure how it proceed with the galaxy s7
Best regards

Thanks for the heads up, but I don't mind losing my data as I will create Titanium backups first before I flash
I will try it later this week, as I need to have a full functioning phone right now.
But I will surely post my findings here, so others can find the solution in the future.

Before you flash the BTU firmware have a look at this thread relating to the Identify Unsaved Numbers option here as your not in the UK, you may need to modify the others.xml as mentioned in the last post otherwise the option will be grayed out.
With your phone connected to you PC in developer options turn off USB Debugging then turn it on again and see if the message pops up on your phone to Authorize your PC it can reset the authorization which will allow Odin to work properly, use Odin 3.10.7.
Check in developer options that OEM Unlock is turned on then when you boot into download mode make sure FRP is Off.
was having same issue, came here for the answer, tried some of the mentioned things that didn't work but when downloaded the latest odin and flashed with it, it was worked like a charm.
also the post above mine is very helpful. so do read it.
S6 FIDO G920W8 stuck on NAND WRTE
I am looking for immediate assistance on NAND write stuck. Please reccomend me right verision of boot loop and modem. I am going crazy when my phone does not register sim card, no imei and does not work with Z3X Box.

How can I do this?
Ok, got my new S8+ today. I have not had a Samsung device for quite a few years, but do remember how to use Odin. I downloaded TWRP, Odin 3.1.2 and put the phone in download mode. Got the pass in Odin and rebooted and got to TWRP without issue. Now came my dumbass move. On the opening screen, I did not press keep read only. I was then going to flash a ROM to customize the phone. When I rebooted, it took a dump. I can get as far as the Samsung screen and then it says something about not being able to verify with the box at the bottom that does a factory reset. I pressed that and it booted to TWRP with several lines of errors of trying to mount data. There is 0 data on the phone now. And now, when I am in TWRP, my pc only recognizes the phone as a twrp decive - no phone files or anything else. I am going to try to put Omega on the phone and see if it will rebuild it for me.
Anybody got anything to offer? I am such a dumbass!!!
Is there any place that I can get Odin tar file of a factory image? I have searched on google and in here and do not see any place to download it.
I still have my Nexus 6P, so am not down without a phone.

Isn't UK Exynos? Are you on an Exynos S8+? Also requested a mod move for the thread to the S8+ forum.

Yes and Yes. I am still puzzled at TWRP wiping my files from the phone. I will wait a few days before adding it again. I have read a lot on the Samsung way of doing things as it has been so long since I had one. I am used to ADB/Fastboot methods of flashing. Oh well, live and learn.
Mod just moved it here from s8+
Good day everyone. I am totally new to this and on here but hope is something I came with and will always be a part of my beliefs.. I did flash my Samsung S7 SM-G930F a couple of times with different kind of custom ROMS and I guess I upgraded the bootloader by doing so... So now I was in TWRP mode and without thinking, I started to change the DATA format and immediately switched it off when I realized what exactly I'm doing and now it's stuck. It can switch on only with a charger and by force but I am capable of getting into download mode. I am trying to flash a stock ROM but it keeps on failing cause of the bootloader. When I use the PIT file, it shows successful though. But nothing more happens. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I don't own an S7 so maybe not much help.
From screen shot above try using Odin version 3.13.1 or higher.
Can you post a screen shot of download mode and Odin when it fails
If you can still get into download mode there should be a line saying AP SWREV: B:? K:? S:? or something similar.
The B:? is your bootloader version number. You will need to flash firmware with this number or higher.

Thank you for the response I managed to get it fixed. I used odin 3.14 instead and I wiped it with the NAND option and started from scratch. I used the pit file and flushed the bootloader first with repartition, then did the AP separete, and thats how I went on. After all, I'm back again. Thank you for trying, much appreciated.
Heyho,
asking for a mate in family, no Samsung Owner, sry.
Which is the way to safely try to reset or flash the device in case of Samsung?
Would be glad about a source of firmware trusted and flash tool?
Should be odin, google says?
WHere from, and download firmware insaide odin then or where from to get legit stuff?
From what i heard hard reset button combination only result is a vibration, no screen, no sound.
So tomorrow i would like to check it on my own for download/flashmode whatever there might be available.
Device might have dropped before but no crakcs, no splashs, no spider, hoping for a bootloop?
Thankful for you guys here that lead me to needed stuff for flashing or maybe before recovery mode and clear cache whatever?
THX)

Is this the US Version or international? I can link you to the firmware and odin if you want to give it a try
International. 64gb. A32 5g. German Store bought
Thx
I think this is the firmware you need https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-A326B/VD2 unless you have the SM-A326U and here is the Odin version I typically use https://samfw.com/blog/download-odin-all-version use the newest version and make sure you have the samsung usb driver installed first.
Once you have odin running follow these steps to access download mode
