Ending call on Gear S2 Classic - Samsung Gear S2

Just had a S2 classic a few days now.
I work outdoors and am connected to S8 and bluetooth headset.
Today I accepted a call on my watch, I said goodbye and tried to end call from watch, I couldn't find the end call icon.
My previous Pebble watch did this, am I missing something?
Thanks.

No one able to assist?
Thanks

I'm glad you are saying it can be done, as it's the only thing that annoys me about the watch.
I've just rang my daughter's phone off my watch, when she answers I only have the choice of call or text on my watch, which won't end call, even by rotating bezel.
If I leave the screen it then goes to my watch display, I then tried rotating the bezel, both ways but it doesn't end the call, it just goes through notifications/weather/events/heart rate etc.
It's my phone faulty or am I still not doing something right?
Thanks

No way to end call?
I just received a used one and I'm having the same issue. Do
Did you ever find a resolution? I can find no way to end the call....even tried to find an app to do it, but no luck. I found a suggestion to rotate the bezel, but that didn't work either. It's too odd to make a device that can answer a call with no concern of ending it...
And the issue is real... especially if the phone isn't in your hand, or near you, and you initiate a call by accident - yep, I did that.

[Q] Dodgy mic when in call.

My gf has been complaining ever since I got this phone that she cant hear me when I'm talking and that I sound all muffled. Been searching around on here and google and found a few others with this issue...Is this with everyone's device?! Or is it only a few that are having this issue?! I dont want to go back to my s4 I was hoping to sell it this week!!
RMA looks like it will take a few weeks too, but if all of them are like this..
I am also having this problem. Friends complain of low/soft voice. Zero problems on speaker, video recordings, and inline mic. Maybe a software issue?

Can you try covering the microphone on the top of the phone (maybe with your finger) while your on the call and see it she hears you any better?
I think the noise cancelling mic may be causing issues for some of us. Let me know.

Right so I left myself loads of voicemails.
Putting some bluetack on the noice cancellation mic does make all the difference in the world!
N/C Covered up:
Test 1: Speak normally on the phone Result: Can hear fine
Test 2: Speak with the phone a little away from my face (not on loudspeaker): Still hear fine
N/C Uncovered:
Test 1: Speak normally on the phone Result: Can hear okay
Test 2: Speak with the phone a little away from my face (not on loudspeaker): Cant hear anything very very faint
Test 3: Speak with the phone on loudspeaker Result: Can hear fine.
I made a thread a few days ago with mic concerns too but only when I was taking on speakerphone... I'm assuming it has something to do with noise cancelation
I was driving on the freeway today and talking on the phone with the speaker phone setting on, and the other person kept saying it sounded like I was getting disconnected. However, when I was at a stop or driving slower (without much background noise) it was fine.
Has anyone else ran into this issue? Or any issue using the speaker phone for phone calls?
Talking on the phone through the earpiece worked fine.
I'm trying to figure out if this is a hardware issue so I can get an exchange.

Speaking on the phone headset is fine for me, unless i move a little away from the mic, so if im not holding the phone directly to my cheek it starts to get quiet and cut up! I tried factory reset, removing all mods, kernel still seems the same. Its really annoying bcuase any slight movement away from my face and I get complaints from the other end saying they cant hear me! Spoke to google and they said just send it back, but im willing to pay £350 and wait 3 weeks for a new handset if they dont have stock..Im short on cash right now!

I don't think you'll have any luck with a replacement. In other threads I noted that I had this same issue with the Galaxy S3 and a replacement didn't make any difference. I think it's just the tone/pitch of some voices that get seen as background noise. Anyway, on the S3 someone pointed me to a setting to turn off noise reduction and that fixed my problem. I don't think the N5 has such a setting.

I never had it with the S4 either. I had one of the first international S3s. I flashed alot of ROMs and at some point I stopped having to change the setting, so it must have been fixed in an updated ROM.

Well, I just increased my overdraft to cover the cost of the replacement while I sell my s4, I really cant go back to it...this phone is t fast to leave. Im on the phone to google now for a replacement just to test it..make me feel better that it may just be software
I've also been getting complaints from my wife about barely hearing me sometimes. I then called for an RMA and ironically, I was talking to Google Support using the N5 and the conversation went without a hitch. I still followed through with the RMA purchase but will continue to test my N5 and see if this problem persists. I can cancel the order within the next couple of days if I find that my N5 is fine, or if it is shipped before I can cancel, then I will just return the new one, or keep it for my wife, or sell it for a small profit. I hope that it's just my wife's hearing cuz I really love this phone.

I fixed it for myself by editing build.prop.
I changed persist.audio.fluence.voicecall=true to false.
That disabled the noise cancellation for normal calls.
The fix for those without root would be to cover the secondary mic on the top of the phone I guess.

I've been using the phone for a couple of days and all calls have sounded perfect, but today I finally talked to my wife with her new N5 and my N5 and I have to tell you it sounds horrible. The mic on these on the other side sounds dull and low. I hope this gets fixed with a software update. How is the fix with the build props working for you guys. I'm tempted on trying it out. I could hardly hear my wife, (maybe that's a good thing).

How bad is S-Voice really? Why?

Hi guys, I want to know just how bad the s-voice on the gear s2 really is before I make a final decision. Many reviewers keep saying that the s-voice is one of the only bad things about the gear but they never go in to much detail about why exactly.
Is the S-voice technology the same as the ones already on Samsung phones?? I have been playing around with the one on my S6 Edge and it seems quite satisfactory.

The S Voice on the watch can't set reminders, which is stupid. Hopefully Samsung will fix it soon with an update. Also, the wake up voice is a hit-or-miss.
S Voice works better on the phone.

Thanks for your input! When the wake up voice doesn't pick up is it due to it simply not recognizing the sound or is the watch too far away from your voice? (is distance or volume relevant when it does not work)
How about when the wake up command is actually working? How is the speed and accuracy of the issued commands afterwards? Comparison to google voice?
Thanks
I have found it works alright for dictating replies and basic commands like weather and schedule inquiries. It's a bit slow for inquiries so I tend to only use it for replies.
If anything I have found the mic to be too sensitive. On a couple occasions it has woken S-Voice up without my command and if I'm dictating a reply in a room with background noise it will try to write out what's going on in the background.
Compared to the processing speed of Google Now, it was about half the speed for me. And it has too many confirmations. For instance, once I tell Google who my wife is and command it to call my wife, it remembers and just dials my wife right away.
On S Voice, it asks me to confirm that I really want to call my wife every single time. It's kinda annoying.
As for voice wake up, my success rate goes up if I place my mouth really close to the microphone hole. Otherwise, I have to repeat several times or raise my voice quite a bit.

Mine is nearly unusable for me, we have a long last name and still to this day I cannot compose a text message to my wife. All other SVoice commands on the watch are hit or miss at best. If there is background noise forget about it. Coming from a Moto 360 which I was able to dictate in a live auction with 2 announcers and background noise the S2 voice is the suck in comparison. For that reason I find I use it as I used my pebble, to look at time and notifications and thats it. For that reason if I don't see an update this week it is going back.
Mine seems to work just fine. I don't expect it to be perfect, but if you speak clearly it usually works 4 me.
The frustrating thing is that it seems to pick a phone number out of the air when you say "Text Jane Doe". My wife's mobile phone number is the default number in her contact entry, but it picks her work number when I tell s-voice to text her. Basically renders it useless!!!
SLOW is my biggest complaint with svoice. And it recognizes my 4 syllable wake command 1 out of 10 times. So bad, I don't use it and can't give details of other problems as noted above... starting to feel like a $325 (after tax) pedometer.
I have 0 issues with my 3g edition S voice. Changed the wake up word to "watch command"
Accuracy is very poor compared to Google
Started working on my watch after the latest OS update. S Voice is now very fast and accurate, but results are often not very useful. You still cannot set reminders or get answers to questions like 'what's the tallest building in the world'. Setting up an alarm or timer works flawlessly, as well as asking for directions and launching apps.
When I reply to a text on the watch using s voice, it gets a few words wrong. Mind you, this is never a problem with Android wear.

I still have terrible problems sending or replying to text messages--either with the text message app or with S Voice itself. Every time I have to use a question mark or exclamation point, it actually TYPES IT OUT, before putting it at the end of the sentence.
So "How's it going?" instead becomes "How's it going question Mark?"
And "That's awesome!" instead becomes "That's awesome exclamation point!"
Which is frustrating, to say the least.

Gear s2 ringing with note 7

Got my note 7 yesterday (love it!) My watch is set to vibrate for everything (no sound) as this is working fine for notifications but when I get a call the phone and the watch ring. I even tried setting the phone to vibrate too and it still rings (same ringtone as the phone). Is anyone else having this issue?
I am having the same issue. Since i never have my phone set to ring (Always rely on my S2 classic for alerts) I just set my Note 7 ringtone to "Silent" no it seems to "Work" ok.
Not the ideal solution, but a "fix" for now...
Thank you.... I'm glad it's not just me. I called Samsung today about it and they were clueless...
I've sent a message to Samsung. Hopefully this gets patched. I'm pretty sure turning off bluetooth audio will stop the issue. Anyone tried it? In bluetooth settings.
Sent from my SM-N930V using Tapatalk
I will try that but, then we can't use it to answer calls. It is definitely a bt issue....i tested it by turning off bt and calling the watch's phone number and it vibrated as it's supposed to. Hopefully enough people contact samsung so that they can get working on a fix for this.
Watch ring ? Or vibrates ?

Me too
Yes I'm having the same issue too. It's really annoying. It's just with the Note7 since it didn't happen with my S7E. Sucks since I can't wear it at work now since I have my phone on vibrate I don't need my watch ringing.

As a "quick fix" change the phone ring tone to "silent" that works for me.
Thanks but when I tried that neither the watch or the phone would vibrate so I wouldn't know if I was getting a call or notification.
I called samsung about this, has anyone else? I think the the more people that report it the better chance we have of getting a fix for it quicker.
I was able to get it to work but both the ringer AND media in the phone need to be on vibrate. Basically what I did was open the sound setting on my phone and was messing with the settings while calling my phone from another phone until I found the right mixture. This is what worked for me. Now my phone and watch vibrate. I would suggest doing what I did until you find the right mixture.
If I take it off vibrate on my phone they both ring. Hope this helps.
I've got a ticket opened with Samsung. My first inquiry got redirected. Hope this one sticks.

Happening with me as well, did an online chat with samsung support to report it and gave them a link to this topic.
Has anyone heard anymore about this? I've periodically checked for an update/fix but haven't seen anything.
Same issue
I've had this problem too. been having the issue Since day one with the note 7. I've called Samsung at least 3 times about it. They were clueless. The first 2 times they kept telling be to call my carrier. I know it's not a carrier issue. For god sakes you're the maker of the watch! Brought it to the Samsung kiosk... Also clueles only answers i can seem to get are factory reset it, which didn't work. Come on Samsung! I'm going to try some of the options you guys gave.
Was having the same issue after I got my new phone setup with my gear... tried mutiple things, ended up doing a factory reset on my watch, reconnected to my n7 and my previous settings were restored to my watch via gear manager...and I was back in business.. no more ringing from the watch...
I've reset watch 3 times.....but I'll try 1 more
bump
Mine is doing it also. I have factory reset wach times
4th factory reset didn't fix it

Third party watch straps cause vibration/sound not to work during notification/s

Hi all users,
Can someone confirm if this is a real device issue or only my device
Purchased nato-straps which has the strap under the watch and cover the sensor and also lift up the watch a bit from the skin.
Had the nato-strap some days now and it was working fine. Notifications was vibrating and phone calls had sound.
Yesterday vibrations and sound during phone calls just didn't work anymore. Happened midday out of nowhere.
Now, if i put back a different strap, which don't cover the sensor, all works perfectly.
Can som please tell me what is happening here? I can't be the only one who has noticed this. Does the watch think its not worn because of the minor liftup caused by the strap under the watch?
Feel the wear overrides this and make it work with all straps. But I really want it to work..... Just as.... Before?!
Any ideas, suggestions why this is happening would be very very helpful.
/Best regards

Your watch most definitely thinks it is not being worn. The strap is not a "minor liftup". It will completely block the sensors not to mention making charging a complete PITA. Go to Settings --> Apps and Notifications and see if "Do not disturb when off wrist" is turned on. If so then turn it off.
My watch auto locks whenever it comes off my wrist since I have Pay setup and that requires locking. IMO the kind of strap that runs under the watch is a non-starter for this watch. It also renders the HRM useless too.
Thanks so much for the update. I think you made my day just so much better! It was turned on!?
Yes, i quickly realized that these are PITA =)
Will try if this helps.
Edit1
It worked to disable. Thanks again. You saved an angry phone call for Huawei support =)

Why an angry call to Huwaei support? You are clearly covering all the sensors. The watch thinks it's off your wrist and what about the heart rate monitor? Why even dream of covering that?
Ok.
Humor. A joke. In the end I would have had to contact support since I didn't realize there was a sensor. Now I know.
Don't care about heart rate. I use garmin for serious running. All running apps can't match up a real Garmin with all of the features (intervall training etc). Yes i use two watches while running (4g version)

Question SOS emergency calls triggers by mistake

Hello XDA,
I wonder if someone can help me with my issue in my S22 ULTRA. Each time I wear something tight or I get into a vehicle under some pumpy roads. I notice my phone power get clicked 3 times and calls the emergency service. It is weird and embarrassing and I noticed I cannot toggle this future off.
Is there any solution to my problem ?

Have you installed the Indian ROM? In India, this is mandatory for all smartphones.
Oh yeah, I remember I did that once for the calls recording feature. Is there a way around this or I'll need to reinstall the ROM back to its original one?

Reinstalling the ROM for another region is the only way.
Thank you TheMystic, I will do that.
