Hi guys.
Which is the smaller width of the Pixel 2? The Pixel 2 have different value from Nexus 5X apparently, and i think it's better
Thanks!
If you mean the dimensions you can find them on Google's site, or any phone site or review. It's just under 7cm wide, so it is indeed narrower than the 5X.

Do you have a Pixel 2? Please, go to Developer Options, and check default value in "Smaller Width"
Interesting. 5x-375, Pixel 2-316

Mine has "smallest width" set to 411dp (which I assume is default as I've never touched it).

Thanks man! Actually, this is the same value that is on the Nexus 5X, but I think the Pixel 2 desktop is bigger

I'm seriously considering getting an X to replace my broken Optimus G (Nexus4's big brother).
Something I haven't seen in my lurking through these forums or reviews online is whether you can change the colour for Active Notifications. For example,is it possible to make them red instead of white (mainly art night)?

I'm driving but I bet if you extract the apk you may be able to alter the image files. That's a total guess though.

It's possible in the app "active notifications"(search Google play for it), it's a clone of moto x's feature
Motorola Moto X DE XT1053
Ah, found Dynamic Notifications in the Play Store that supports changing the colour. Nice. Thanks.

Should be noted you won't get particularly good battery though. The native Active Display is tied with hardware integration with the special cores. Using a 3rd party app to accomplish this doesn't use hardware integration--thus, it will kill your battery faster. Just an FYI.
True. I'll be sure to test with both versions to see if colour optimizations affect the battery enough to be worth it.

Samsungs stock camera app or Googles camera app?
Which do you use/prefer and why?

I personally have no issues with the stock Samsung camera app and it's got a great set of features.

Ditto! Also I found the stock camera is faster than other 3rd party cameras.
Does the Samsung camera have 360 panorama?
double post...
Yep. See my attachment.

No its not. Select Mode on the main camera interface to the left of the shutter button. Then select panorama.

That's why it required a download from the Samsung Store on mine? Perhaps, Check your device to see if it is pre-installed....would be a better way to say it.

My post wasn't meant to sound condescending and I apologize if it did. And yes that would be a more appropriate way of saying that.
But back on topic: I had the panorama feature right out of the box and after each clean flash. Its possible it was removed in the ROM you're using (if any).

Any workarounds for DPI changes, the camera really freaks out if the DPI is different than stock
360 panorama is different from panorama.

360 Panorama is pretty much photosphere.

I see no need for anything other than the stock camera as it's fantastic to me.
I agree that the stock camera app is good. I tried the Google Camera app but did not see how to make it save images to the SD card.
Here's a link to the Moto g4 camera as u know this has just been released... seems to work well has some added extras compared to Google camera...all credits to defcomg for this ....

Got some touch problems. Also can't change the resolution.
Seems to be working quite well for me.
For the touch problems, it looks like the buttons are out of "alignment", if I can call it that. I have to tap just to the right of the button. For example, to change the photo type, tap on the right edge of the camera icon in the top right corner.
Swipe right to get to the resolution settings.
Only thing that doesn't seem to work is the Exposure setting. But that's OK, since I know next to nothing about photography. Auto mode all the way for me. Wish it had HDR setting, to turn it on/off.

You know, I wonder if that would fix the problem with the on-screen buttons not being aligned with our taps...

But it would be good to see what dpi it uses I've looked on the Moto 4g forum but it's quite sparse..

I was using the one+ cam but this one is much better. i like the design to, thanks for the link.
The two options in the DPI slider in Android N settings resulted in being unable to accurately use the interface, manually setting DPI to 424 works though. I guess it doesn't support scaling

Why Galaxy screens and the shots taken from their camera are so over saturated? For that matter I changed the Adaptive display to Basic it looks much better.

Samsung likes to do that to their screens and pictures.

you can tune down a bit on screen > adaptive display to photo
and on camera, use pro mode, with all auto but saturation toned down to your preference.
Im still looking for a proper way, though

Speed and reliability seem better, the images don't really look that different to me. Google Camera still wins for sure.
