Factory reset and iternal storage - Honor 8 Questions & Answers

Does factory reset format internal storage? On description it says it wipes all photos and videos, but some googling tells me that function does not format internal. So how it is?
From the fact that it's encrypted I thought that resetting password and entire phone will format everything that is encrypted.

[Q] Reset internal memory to stock?

I am looking for an easy way to reset the internal memory back to stock. I was trying to setup a sync, and it did not keep track with mtp properly and i ended up with multiple duplicates.
So I want to do a complete reset, I have tried the reset function through android but it did not delete my files on the internal memory.
Thank you.

Ok this has been solved. Boot into Clock Work mod, then select mounts and choose format sdcard and also format /data just in-case I also formatted /cache.
This removed all my data and set the device back to factory.
Hopefully this helps anyone else.

Yes it will back to Factory setting your phone
Your internal sd-card won't be erased. Just all of your apps will be deleted, the data of them won't.

[Q] Does "factory reset/wipe data" delete /sdcard

Hey,
I was wondering if the "factory reset/wipe data" from the recovery menu deletes the /sdcard folder? I did this multiple times on my Nexus 5 and my photos, music and stuff are still there, same with everything in my download folder. Is that normal? I did a factory reset on another Nexus 5 and all data was gone, I had to re-login to a lot services and photos are not on the device anymore, just on google+. Is that the way it should be?
Which recovery did the other n5 have?
Twrp doesn't delete anything from the sdcard if you chose factory reset.
it had automatic restore activated on both devices. I assume the Nexus 5 factory reset should delete the /sdcard folder. Its just a virtual sdcard on the nexus 5. I does not have a sd slot. how would you be able to delete everything from the device? I'm just confused why one nexus 5 wipes the sdcard folder during the factory reset and the other doesn't. is it a bug? or is there a setting which on activation, preserves the /sdcard folder during a factory reset?

factory reset on custom recoveries only delete /data, and /cache files and folders(EXCEPT /data/media folder, since its the internal sdcard)
factory reset on stock recovery formats /data and /cache, which deletes the folder media inside data(which is the sdcard, /sdcard is just a symlink for bad applications which have /sdcard hard coded in their file calls)
It dosenĀ“t matter any setting or config you have under you system, both recoveries ignore anything related to system
both nexus 5s are stock. so the photos and all other media should be gone after a factory reset right? I wonder why mine doesn't do that.

factory default internal storage

I just reset my phone, did a factory reset. but then i realize that my internal storage already used up to ~6Gb with all data and account erased. is that normal? how can I clear more space? downloaded stock firmware files only ~1.7Gb

Will wiping system and internal storage of my phone using twrp makes all my data unrecoverable?

Hello, I am planning to sell my phone and I do have some information (like passwords, card, and pin, etc. which I recently captured using my phone camera) and I'm afraid that even I factory reset and overwrite my phone storage by filling it up with files, someone might still be able to recover it. Will wiping system and internal storage of my phone thought twrp makes it unrecoverable?
Overwrite the complete internal storage space with ZEROS and BLANKS.

How will I do that? Is there any tutorial/reference you could suggest? Thank you!
What kind of information can be restored after the factory reset?
Hello, The question is pretty straightforward - is it possible to restore the data on the phone that had existed before the factory reset was made? If I sell my phone on ebay can someone get any glimpse on what has been done with my phone?
