Emails reappear after deleted - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

After deleting emails and after deleting from trash, they come back as new mail
Have tried setting up as imap and pop. Same either way. How to correct?

Yeah, noticed that too dude. It doesn't happens often, but it happens. It could be a bug on exchange services package, a service that gives commands to operate on email app and regulates everything you do in your mailbox, synchronizing them. I'm using an outlook.com account, and you? I'd like to know if this happens to everyone who's not using a gmail.com account or even to them

I used OWA, Nine, Aquamail, bluemail, enhanced email for all my exchange and active sync emails but none had issue. never liked the inbuild email app on any phone as thats just a basic one

Hotmail POP3 access from Inbox...

Has anyone with premium Hotmail account managed to make POP access work from within the Inbox client?
I have three premium (paid for) Hotmail accounts that I wish to quickly access WITHOUT having to sign-in and out from one to the other everytime single time.
Having the Inbox app download my emails automatically from all three accounts at the same time every 15mins is what I'm hoping for.
I have tried PocketMSN and WindowsLive apps, but they both handle only one account at a time. Also I have tried the pop3.live.com and smtp.live.com servers with no success.
I'm using a WM5 Athena.
Thanks for any help.
I heard hotmail got rid of the pop3.
Try pop3.email.msn.com
smtp.email.msn.com
Thanks, but apparently they pulled the plug on those servers. And for some reason the new live.com mail servers do not work with the Inbox app. But have read some are successfuly using them with Outlook. Maybe an SSL thing.
I just can't believe my Blackberry can handle mail so much better than this thing. It can automatically download several accounts, hotmail (free or Premium), gmail, pop3, you name it, right out of the box.
I'm in LOVE with my Athena but this is a deal breaker for me (and darn pricey one). Specially after MS making so much fuzz about so called 'direct push technology'.
why pay for hotmail when gmail offer all that for free?
True, Gmail is way better.
But even before Gmail existed, I already had Hotmail accounts that I used extensively. After some years, it is hard to move to a new address. Most of the contacts and registrations everywhere point to those emails.
But never mind. I found the solution. It is HTTPMail. It allows me to create several new email accounts (even several Hotmail and/or MSN accounts). AND integrates very cleanly with pocket inbox.
Now I have two hotmail accounts, one msn account and three pop3 email accounts that are automatically check every 10mins (my setting) right from pocket inbox and are shown in the today inbox plugin.
Awesome!
Now I only wish I could uninstall Windows Live.

Hotmail sync?

I tried the MyTouch 3G last year and found that it's email sync with Hotmail was poor. If you deleted/read something from the device, it would not delete it/mark it read on the server. I tried the K-9 program, but it was pretty lame as it did not fix the above issues.
Has this been fixed? I really enjoyed all other aspects of Android, but this issue is a necessity for a phone for me.
Also, the native MS exchange server support only covered email. Have they added contacts and calendar syncing? When I had the MyTouch 3G, I bought the program "Touchdown" and that worked slick.
I am just curious to see if the Android people had advanced into the core MS functionality yet.
Thanks for any input.
POP is notoriously hard to keep in sync among multiple clients. There's usually a 'mark as read on download' setting that works ok if you only have one POP client downloading mail. When I last checked Hotmail didn't have that ability but maybe they've done some improvements. If they have an IMAP or ActiveSync option that would be the ideal solution.
In my case I don't use my Hotmail as my primary account but I still have email that goes to it. I use Gmail's ability to sync with external POP accounts to download and label my Hotmail email. This way I get my Hotmail email pushed to me like my Gmail email and I don't have to use separate email clients to read them. I also prefer Gmail's web interface and spam filter so I don't even bother going to Hotmail's site any more. The problem with this approach is that Android's Gmail app doesn't allow you to change the 'from' field so if you reply to a Hotmail email it will be from your Gmail address. This isn't an issue for me since I essentially use my Hotmail as a read-only account. If you have a similar use case then this method would probably work well for you.
Thanks for the input. It sounds like things are about the same as what I was experiencing.

Emails

I have over 400 emails and my phone only showing me 100 of them. Amyone else having this issue?

I guess no one is having this problem?
I am suprised no one else having this problem, I guess I have a defective one.
I noticed this just a day ago. The POP emails seem to age off after 1 week or if they get deleted on the server.
My assumption is the email client on the phone is doing this; it should not, but there is no other reason for it. The only relevant email setting i can find is if the client should delete on the server.
I was starting to like Touchwiz, but Samsung really messed up the email client. I hope custom Roms give us a better email client.
I also have a problem with POP3 fetch. I have 1 Exchange, Gmail, and 3 POP3 accounts. Exchange works as it should, but the POP3 accounts seem to stop fetching overnight. Even manually refreshing doesn't work. I may have rebooted before or just waited... not sure.

I had the inverse problem. IMAP stoped retreiving my mail and POP3 worked
(I had 2 IMAP + 3 GMAIL)
Now 1 IMAP, 1 POP and 3 GMAIL
Email Client Is Too Slow
Why is the email client so dang slow?
It's slow in general but mostly when I go to delete emails.
If I select several emails for deletion they pop off one at a time every 5 seconds or so.
No other phone I've owned has ever taken this long to do something as simple as delete an email.
Is this a problem with just the Captivate and TouchWiz, or does it happen with other Android phones as well?
Will this be fixed in FroYo?
Also for some reason some e-mail clients like Eudora, has an issue with the stock e-mail app from Samsung, it does not have proper mail headers and Eudora will show up as gibberish. I have switched over to MailDroid and it seems to be a lot more responsive, less of a memory hog and actually has no problems with Eudora and other mail clients that require mime in the headers. As well as I got a -2 e-mail on an iMap account under the Samsung Stock E-mail app...
Cheers,
Charlie

Gmail and email

Yea it seems gmail never fails to give me my email notifications right on time, right when I receive mail I get a notification no more then 2 minutes later. But yahoo seems to never update and I get my email like 30 min to a hour later. So this must be droid telling me if I don't have gmail I won't get my notifications on time. Very bias of the android OS. And it sends nobody has a sure
fix for thus as I have searched the forums and have used k9 as well it all fails.

Both GMail and Exchange mail support the feature called Push Email -- it pushes into your phone's inbox as soon as the mail server receives the email.
How do you setup your Yahoo email? I guess you used the POP3 email access which is pretty dumb and doesn't support push email (your phone has to check the mail server every so often to see if there is mail there.
There should be a Yahoo mail app created by Yahoo that also supports push email. You have to use that app in order to get the push email from Yahoo.
Hotmail now also supports push email via Exchange email support. So, no new email app needed.
I have one of my yahoo accounts set up on the yahoo app, but it only allows for one account as far as I know

Then, call Yahoo and ask them to support multiple accounts. Yahoo, Gmail and hotmail all use properitary protocols for their email in addition to support the old POP3 protocol. Gmail and Hotmail have the added advantage of supporting Exchange ActiveSync. So, in order to take advantage of advanced feature like push email, you will need the native client from the respective email provider or use Exchange ActiveSync if there is support for it. It is not any kind of bais in Andriod OS. It is the fault of Yahoo falling way behind the technology curve. POP3 protocol is created like 20 to 30 years ago. Back then, emails often take days to reach the destination.
BTW, the phone's built-in email client only supports 2 Exchange accounts max. I know Gmail client supports multiple gmail accounts as well but not sure how many accounts it can support.
Yahoo does have an app, whether it's any good is a different story. I have tried both, the email app and the messenger app and they are very laggy, almost rendering the phone useless. Then again ymmv

[Q] Some Messages Not Pushed to Gmail App

I have read through various syncing issues, but can't find anything quite like what I'm experiencing. Also, I'm not even sure where the problem lies, whether it's IMAP configurations or a Gmail issue or an app issue. Hopefully someone can help solve my problem or guide me in a direction.
I have 2 accounts within Outlook 2007 - work email through Microsoft Exchange and a Gmail IMAP account. I have a rule set where email sent to the work account will also be copied to the Inbox of the IMAP account. On my phone (Galaxy S3) I have two Google/Gmail accounts set up - personal email (let's call it G-X) and the one that gets a copy of my work email (let's call it G-Y).
Up until a few days ago I had no problems with receiving emails and notifications but now if an email is sent directly to G-Y, I am notified through the Gmail app on the phone that I have new mail. If an email is sent to the work account, where it gets copied to the Gmail IMAP in Outlook, there is no notification, even though the message is displayed as unread/new both in Outlook and gmail.com.
I haven not installed any new apps or changed any settings on the phone recently. The only peculiar thing that happened was that there was an Exchange Server issue at work that has since been resolved. This makes me think the issue might be related to Outlook or the way the email gets copied to the IMAP account, but none of the Exchange/Outlook people I have talked to are familiar with this sort of behavior.
Can anyone shed light on this? I just want to be able to get notified when new work email comes to (gets copied to) the Gmail account set up for it.
