Issues with AOSP Oreo ROM for OnePlus One - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I have flashed this ROM on my One two days back, and I was hoping that someone from the community could help me out with below issues that I am facing.
1. The default keyboard app keeps displaying a notification while typing, and when I directly press the home button while still typing, the keyboard stays open only. I know there used to be an option to disable this, but could not find the same in this build.
2. I feel that the camera photos are a bit blurred. I did follow the install instructions and have not made a single customization after that. Am I missing something?
Thanks.

Anyone? a little help here please.

You can swipe the notification to the right (see screenshot), press the settings symbol. Then click "all categories", then press the "keyboard section" on the screen that opens. There you can set priority to the lowest. The icon will disappear. The notification will be still there, but the icon not.
I think at the moment there is no "build in" solution on OREO roms.
Hope I could help.

Issues with text misalignment under icons in Main Apps screen [fixed!]

I am having an issue with the following apps in the Apps screen on my Nexus
updated facebook
compass
movies
the weather channel
shopsavvy
after downloading these apps from the Market, the text under the icons seems to be off to the right in the main applications screen, but if i make a shortcut for the same app onto the home screen, the text under the icons in the home screen is properly aligned...
Anyone else having this issue?
I have firmware 2.1, Baseband 32.19.00.16U_4.02_02.14 and Kernel 2.6.29-gad36b87 [email protected] #1
ok I fixed it
Just change to another locale (eg, from UK english to US english) and its fixed.
Silly bug!
I also noticed this, a simple turn off-turn on will also solve this problem it seems!
what do you mean text misalignment? In my app menu I have apps that the word isn't spaced and 1 or 2 letters continue underneath the icon.
Is that what you mean?
if so, where did you go to change your locale?

I have this problem as well. I don't think it's the same as the ops.
Reboot fixes this

I saw the same for "Wikitude": the text started a few spaced to the right underneath the icon, as if starting with a Tab. I rebooted and the problem was fixed. Then I installed "g-Lock demo", and had the same problem. Another reboot fixed that too.

[Q] Messaging app automatically reading texts and not notifying

Hey all, I'm having an issue with my messaging app. It only started happening within the last week or so. If i open up the Messaging App and am talking to someone but happen to leave the app actively open on the screen and simply just hit the power button, any texts I would then receive dont notify me. I have to hit the home button or switch to a different app in order to get notified i have a new text. The app seems to be automatically "reading" the text and not playing my notification sound or adding a notification on the notification bar. I'm on the latest version of ParanoidAndroid if that helps any.
Thanks in advance!

Bumping
Just to rephrase incase it was confusing wording: If i have the Messaging app open when i turn the screen off, i wont get any notification that i've received a text (icon in bar, sound, vibrate) HOWEVER, if i go back to my home screen or to another app it will all function as intended.
This just started recently and out of the blue (when i was on an older paranoid android build) so i updated my rom trying to fix it so i am now on the latest and it still seems to be happening.
Final Update: I just did a full reset and flashed over to LiquidSmooth to try it out, so unfortunately i didnt find a solution to fix that specific issue.

Extra home screen indicator.

I didn't really know what to search to find an answer to this question, so I'm sorry if it has already been posted. I have a full stock nexus and the default launcher, sometimes I notice a little + sign where the home screen indicators are. I know it's used to add a new home screen, but I don't want it there. And when I scroll all the way to the right there's an extra blank home screen. Does anyone know if it's possible to get rid of this?
Question 2: I have a repeating alarm set every morning with the stock alarm app. I've noticed that sometimes the alarm icon in the notification bar will disappear, and only come back up if I tap on the alarm in quick settings. The alarm is still set and still goes off.
Neither of these are really issues, just nuisances, and for all I know they could be "features". But any help would be much appreciated, thank you!
for #1, just place something on the homescreen then remove the item.

Thanks! Will it still pop up anymore or do I have to do that every time?

I just noticed #2 happening on my N5 as well. I figured maybe it was because I have made some status bar changes with Xposed Framework + Gravity Box, but I guess not. Probably a bug of some sort. What's weird is I've seen it come and go randomly too when just looking at my screen. Oh well. Kind of bugs me, but not a huge deal since my alarm still goes off every morning.
I have the same problem on my Nexus 7 and Nexus 5. I guess it's more of an annoyance than a problem.
I have had this problem for a while now, usually goes away if I bring an icon over to a new page then back, or if I restart my phone.
I have since switched back to Nova as they have implemented many kit kat GEL like additions, and I used this on my nexus 4, missed a lot of the swipe features and icon packs
home screen
You restore you N5 in the company setting....
Many be Issue is the some missing file....
I've had the problem with the blank home page several times on my N5 and adding/removing an item to the page removes it. It's always a extra page to the right of the last active page.
I have a daily recurring alarm and I only see the alarm icon two hours before the set time. In the notifications I have the option to dismiss the alarm early.
I do have an issue with HD Widgets which lives on the home (first) screen. Sometimes the widget becomes embedded on the page -- I will see what appears to be overlaid images. I first noticed what appeared to be two sets of temperatures (I use the weather widget with three or five day forecast). The easiest way to correct the problem is to drag the widget to a new page at the end, delete the home page which now displays the widget as a background image, then re-order the pages. This has never occurred on my N4 or N7 which are set up similarly except that the home page is the middle page.

[Q] New page on home screen. Where did it come from?

Hello all,
I'm a relatively new OnePlus One owner and yesterday after I rebooted my phone, a new page showed up as part of my home screen pages. What was the first home screen page is now the second one and this new page took it's place.
Since I have no idea what it is, I'm attaching a screen shot for reference in hopes someone might be able to tell me. It's mostly blank with the text that says:
Get some extensions!
Looks like you don't have any installed
extensions. CM Home currently supports
DashClock extensions, so go get some and check
back here!"
Would anyone know where this suddenly came from and more importantly, how can I get rid of it? If I had wanted it there, I would have added it myself. Don't much appreciate a phone that doesn't respect user settings.
Thanks!
Tim
Nobody knows?
There must be some way of getting rid of this thing. It seems to have shown up after I updated to 38R. It's also mentioning something about Dash Clock. But since I don't have any app named Dash Clock installed, I have no way of uninstalling it.
Tired of these apps or themes, etc that just think it's fine to modify a user's settings and add whatever they want to a phone. I take the time to setup my phone for a reason. If I had wanted something changed or added, I'm perfectly capable of determining which apps I wish to have and where I wish to place associated folders, icons, widgets, etc.
Would be very appreciate if anyone could give me some advice how to get rid of that page.
Thank you!
It is part of the trebuchet launcher from cyanogen. You must have gone into the settings and turned on the CM Home search panel. Just go back into the launcher settings and change the search panel option to "off" and it should go away.

Thanks so much for the reply. I have looked already, but see nothing obvious listed in my Settings where I can find anything related to CM Home search panel. I have also searched for any apps that might be labeled as trebuchet, launcher, CM, etc. Would you mind telling me where exactly I can find such a setting as you mentioned?
Thank you again.

It is not in the phone settings it is on the home screen. Long press down on any part of the home wallpaper not covered by an icon or widget and you should see a menu bar pop up at the bottom with 3 icons for setting wallpaper, widgets and something else. There should be an up arrow near the top of the menu bar which when pressed will take you to the launcher settings, that is where you can change the options.

"Select input keyboard" notification

So I don't know if this is a feature or a bug but I saw that whenever i had the keyboard open i would get a "Select input keyboard" notification (you can see it in the first image). When i open the notifications i get the dialog in the second picture.
So i went straight on disabling all the other keyboards: i disabled Swype and Google app (because of Google Vocal Typing or something like that) from the apps settings so the AOSP keyboard is the only one left (see third image) but again no luck, the notification is still there. I also tried replacing the AOSP keyboard with Google keyboard and ensuring that it was the only one active but it still didn't work. Is this standard Android behavior? Or possibly an Alcatel bug? A bug in my software? That thing is annoying as hell.

I get that dialog when I press a small button to the right of the nav bar (it only appears when the keyboard pops up). Did you try to longpress the notification and then press the "i" symbol, then disable notifications from that source?
I always get that dialog, even with only one keyboard app installed/enabled, so that's not normal.
By the way, i tried disabling the notification but since it comes from Android System itself it cannot be disabled but only set to priority mode.
It drove me crazy for a bit cause I'm a little OCD with my screen, but I just ignore it now.
