Using a network specific S3 frontier? - Samsung Gear S3

I am considering buying a s3 frontier on a private seller app (5miles). I am on sprint and the watch came from att. I don't have any intentions on using it to make calls from it, other than when my phone is on or around me. Should I have any issues with this? Also, is there anything I should be careful of?

IMHO if you not use or not need Modem function...
Then maybe better to buy SM-R760...
You have more support in community...
SM-R765 is bad supported from S.msung...
Example 1.
None of these devices have now Tizen 3 Firmware update...
Example 2.
If you trying something to repair at home...
You have no Software nor any other kind of help for SM-R765...
Only as info.
Is only my opinion.

If I buy a Galaxy S5 Sprint from America, will it work in Europe?

I have a Galaxy S5 but I want to have Radio FM and only the Sprint version has it.
I am spanish and live in Spain, Europe.
I have been looking on eBay or Amazon and I see I can buy the Sprint version, but I don't know if the phone bands/frequencies and the FM Radio will work in Europe.
Does anybody know?
Thanks.
the device will boot and run. wifi works great. you may be able to Sim unlock the phone for international use. i didn't read those threads
for whatever it's worth, the radio doesn't work in airplane mode but does work worth mobile data off here in the states.
but it seems to me that you would do better just buying a radio.

Many thanks. I ended up selling the S5 because of it not having radio, and the Sprint one seems impossible to know if will work here fully. I just stay with my S3 until it dies or Samsung includes a radio again in a Galaxy S flagship.
Which will never happen, seems like.
Samsung, count how many sales you are losing every year for not including a radio. I am the kind of user that likes to get the new Galaxy S every year, and stopped at the S3 for this reason. And thousands like me. Now also removed the removable battery and micro SD. Then you cry and wonder why you lose share every day only to copy Apple but not gaining Apple users because you have no social status.
Angry.

Frontier Models all the same?

There is a possibility that all Frontier models use identical hardware with the only differences being the software. (ie. SM-R760 vs SM-R765)
Could the R765 firmware be flashed to a bluetooth model? (anyone willing to try?)
I'm interested in this because in my country we can only buy the bluetooth model (and it costs the equivalent of U$500) but I would really like to have standalone call capability. If the hardware (e-sim and LTE radio) is there, perhaps its possible to enable it.
Dont do it! Someone has already tried it and it messed up his watch. The US R760 software has a different csc file so that Samsung Pay gets installed.

Using international Gear S3 in UK

I'm looking at purchasing from third party seller on amazon, an international, probably a UAE version of the Gear S3 and using it in the UK and I'm wondering what limitations this will cause. From a general browse through the Web I've found various information but all just hearsay and would appreciate some more concrete information.
I've heard that:
1. My warranty will be void?
2. I won't be able to update the S3?
3. Samsung Pay won't work? (which wouldn't bother me)
4. Will have trouble connecting to my phone?
5. Software will be different?
Could anyone answer my some of these questions for me as I would be saving over £100 on buying a non UK version.
Thanks in advance. Neil.
Don’t believe what people say there is no difference only warranty claim that’s all I just got one from global central 207 pounds.

December 2017...
I have none of these LTE devices in my hand...
I am from Germany...
1.
SM-R765N
I can not remember to see somewhere User with device...
No idea if not popular in New Zealand
2.
SM-R765F for Singapore... :crying:
This is the only user I know from Europe... his experiences:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s3/help/sm-r765f-teardown-t3659431
3.
Experiments with LTE devices seems much MUCH harder...
No Firmware
No Warranty if something happens
4.
I can NOT remember about en masse lucky eSIM "changer" in Gear S3 LTE world...
Example SM-R765A... correct me if I am wrong... but nobody can move to T-Mobile...
SM-R765T or Verizon... SM-R765V
So why N and F Version?
No idea if you like adventures for 300 $...
5.
I have forgotten...
Article is from December... BEFORE these devices updated to Tizen 3...
Maybe this Trick is obsolete...

thanks your kindly reply very much, Mr. agree.
I had taken much time on eBay, to find what's the meaning of the seller's description "factory unlocked". Finally I got I need a "Carrier Unloced" Gear S3 Frontier LTE to DL international esim profile, but most of seller's "factory unlocked" is dishonest and their devices equal "Carrier LOCKED".
Bcz different BANDS of tele-providers,
Unfortunately, sm-r765A(at&t) and sm-r765T(T-Mobile) can't using docomo, and I am happy to find out sm-r765F has same BAND and can download other provider's profile, yesterday.
I readed the blog again, it's sounds that DOCOMO of esim is supported by a foreign G&D company. Maybe this means their profile is common and can be use for other device they don't support bcz not on sale. (ONLY wifi version by docomo)
Thanks( ̄□ ̄!!
For SM-R765F Combination FT30 Firmware exists...
Maybe if somebody need for research...
OWN RISK!
Best Regards
Only as info... check these 2 Videos... attached.
Command sent via SDB Tool is:
Code:
launch_app csc-manager.csc-sim-test
Result looks like this:
Code:
sh-3.2$ launch_app csc-manager.csc-sim-test
... successfully launched
But I have no idea how usefull these infos are...
Maybe we can compare with infos from SM-R765F and maybe SM-R765S...
Best Regards
i have a SM-R765a and have a qr code for my new esim setup however not able to find any way to set it up on my watch can someone help me please ?

Need some assistance please with watch regions

Hi, I had a Gear S3 Classic from the UK which broke whilst charging, I bought a replacement mainboard and installed it successfully (phew!) but after turning it on it's a South Korean model (SM-R775S).
It's all in English now but it has different apps that are installed and I'd like it how my original watch was, is there a way to do this via the options or a firmware change?
Thanks.
Only to be sure...
Your dead Board is SM-R770 BT only...
And now you have ""Jackpot"" with Korean LTE?
Is this correct?
Because Korean LTE is not first choice to change something...
With SM-R775S you have little bit "luck"...
Firmware is available...
For SM-R765 not...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/gear-s3/please-help-bricked-gear-s3-sm-r765s-t3665558
So you have not really easy mission...
Best Regards
Hi, yes it was a SM-770 that I bought in the UK, it fried when I used a different wireless charger on it
The replacement I received from eBay is a SM-R775S, I don't know if it's LTE or not, so by jackpot do you mean I have been lucky by getting this mainboard?
I've actually got used to it now, I've managed to delete a couple of the apps that are in Korean and it's all working pretty much how the old one was, I'm a bit OCD when it comes to things like that but so far I'm ok
Thanks for the reply.
