Boot into recovery from fastboot?

Hello, I have an Honor 6x, with unlocked bootloader, and wanted to install TWRP so I booted into bootloader
and flashed twrp.img via fastboot, but now everytime I want to boot TWRP it just shows the message:
Your device has been unlocked and
can't be trusted.
To learn more, visit:
*some link I can't post cause I'm new here*
Your device is booting now...
and then it is stuck in this state...
could I eventually boot into TWRP directly from bootloader via fastboot?
Please help guys, thanks in advance. :fingers-crossed:
What version of EMUI are you on? If you're on the 7.0 beta there isn't a working twrp for it.

Hm, can't find it. Where exactly are these instructions?
Hello. Replying here as I don't need a new thread for a very similar issue.
Brand new 6x with EMUI 4. Unlocked bootloader successfully. Using adb/fastboot tool I boot into bootloader, then flash my twrp img. For some reason this goes fine with no errors but takes less than two seconds (cause for concern?).
Now from this point is where I am having trouble. Regardless of what I do, the phone only boots into the EMUI recovery screen. I am aware of holding the volume up key on the first boot after flashing twrp so that it won't be overwritten. I have rebooted the phone manually and also through fastboot while holding the volume up button.
In a new city and only internet I have is thru my phone so this process is really slow due to all the restarts etc. Thanks in advance for the help!

Same problem here. I have a Honor 6x (BLN-L21) with Nougat on it (Build BLN-L21C432B360), unlocked it with the unlock pwd and tried to flash the TWRP (twrp-3.1.0-2-berlin.img) with 'fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.0-2-berlin.img'. After that I get always the same message after reboot or if I try to enter the recovery mode.
Any suggestions?
Thank you
Hi there,
I have found it. To get the TWRP Screen I had to press all 3 Buttons (Volume Up, Volume Down and Power) at startup.
Hope this helps.
Sadly this doesn't work here, on a BLN-L21C432B130 with EMUI 4.x and Android 6.x
3 Button start method brings up always the EMUI recovery screen.
Power Button + Volume up Button works fine here with all TWRP versions up to 3.1.0-0, but never on a newer one.
Additional hint: It works only if the USB cable isn't plug into the device and if the phone was powered down before. That must me the reason why I never get that up, if I'm rebootin using the command $ fastboot reboot cause for this the cable connection has to be used
@all who stuck in bootscreen...flash THIS TWRP...
[LG G4 H815] Just need to reboot into recovery directly...
I have kinda the same problem: I flashed TWRP and a friend of mine told me that I need to reboot into recovery directly after flashing TWRP because otherwise the system replaces TWRP again when I type "fastboot reboot". The problem is I cant shutdown the phone and also the key combination of the LG G4 is not rlly working, I tried it dozens of times on my other one... Is there ANY other way of booting to recovery from bootloader / fastboot? Thanks in advance!
P.S.: I read something about "boot twrp.img"... Is that an option or does it just also flash TWRP?

Hi,
I was on B386 before (Nougat)
Flashing RR-N-v5.8.4 gives this error:
Can't install this package on top of incompatible data. Please try another package or run a factory reset.
Updater process ended with ERROR 7
Any idea ?
Thanks !
PS : This error also prevents me to install B390, B383, B182. Only B360 can be installed from TWRP.

my p9 i do the things as you saying but it when it goes on fastboot stack on screen your devise is booting now...wont open and at adb says waiting for devise nothing else what to do ?
To get into fastboot mode you keep the phone plugged into computer and hold power and volume down until you get to the white fastboot screen.
There is no need to wait for the battery to drain as you can just force shut down a phone using power + volume down holding.

Hi
I came here because i tried to install miui on my P9 via trwp , somehow it wasnt mountable and after searching the internet i found the solution was to change the filetype.
Sadly i forgot that this would delete my backup, which happened and the miui still wasnt mountable.
I tried your method but after a few miliseconds of the forced update it gets an error and stops.
Or lets say i tried your method while being in trwp recovery mode because otherwise no devices are being detected by adb tool.
i tried to install a p9 stock rom but i cant even mount that one, somehow nothing works.
I seriously dont know what to do anymore.
Try this...
Try to flash downgrade firmware...
Rollback Instructions
Step 1. Download the appropriate rollback firmware
Step 2. Copy the extracted dload folder to the external storage of your phone (micro sd card).
Step 4. Disconnect the USB cable and turn your phone off.
Step 5. Now hold Volume up + Volume down + Power buttons until the installation screen appears.
Step 6. When the phone restarts after completing the installation, your firmware version should now be “B300”.
Step 7. Try to find oldest marshmallow firmware and flash it using same way...
I want to android 6.0 as twrp. How ? Pls
That is only for unlocked bootloader??
Link in Step 12 for Nougat s broken

Mate 9 bricked and cannot enter to TWRP and bootloader.

Hello developers I need help !
When I tried to install stockboot.img through TWRP, I didn't understand too much
and write that img to oeminfo, version and system partition.
Then I reboot and Mate9 is stuck in Huawei logo and eRecovery loop.
I tried to enter TWRP or bootloader with buttons as usual, but cannot enter.
Therefore I connected Mate9 to PC and tried to enter through command, but PC didn't recognize Mate 9.
If I can enter to these recovery mode, I think there're some chances to unbrick.
Please help..
My Mate9 is MHA-L29C635 (Japan version).
In external storage, there are system, version and boot backup.
Thank you

For bootloader you have to have USB plugged in.
You might have to flash back your stock oeminfo.bin with Twrp. If you don't have a backup of it you can probably find it in: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-mate-9-flash-update-package-t3593108
Download MHA zip and extract.

Thank you for quick reply.
Actually, I succeed in entering to bootloader, with buttons.
I pressed Vol down and power with USB plugged in, but pressed too long and maybe everytime bootloader is skipped and went to eRecovery.
Press buttons and once confirm Huawei logo, take off fingers from buttons and I did it.
Then Unlock bootloader again through PC. TWRP was still on Mate9 and no needed to install again.
Thank you for your solution.

No fastboot no twrp just erecovery (bln-l21c185)

Hello guys I have the version bln-l21c185 so I was at bln-l21c185b140 (4.1.3 MM) I had no updates nothing so I decided to update manually I unlocked the bootloader install twrp I downloaded the bln-l21c185b361 and updated with FF app when the updated download my phone turn it off and boot to twrp after the installation was completed it was all good but now I tried to boot to bootloader it doesn't boot at all it goes to this yellow letter with the options to boot the device or to boot to erecovery and when I tried to boot to twrp it boot to erecovery
Any help how to got back again the bootloader ?
Maybe with the update I lock my bootloader ?
Place update.app in sdcard then boot into fastboot by holding volume down button and plug in usb. Then flash stock recovery and shutdown phone and boot phone using 3 button combination method

(Closed)<Fixed> Honor 8 emui 8 android oreo brick ( software i guess )

Hello everyone, i have an honor 8 frd-l09c432(europe)
so i flashed a wrong kernel in twrp and fastboot
and now the phone can't boot
i can get into fastboot and flash stuff
erecovery works in factory resetting and cache partition cleaning
my bootloader is unlocked
my phone is frp unlocked
when i flash twrp in fastboot and reboot to recovery, it doesn't boot twrp but the stock recovery ( idk why )
so anyone can help ?
and when i put my phone in charge when its off
a message appears to update again
no : 10 ( boot image
no : 2 ( load failed )
which im guessing its because of the wrong kernel flash
so what should i flash in fastboot to unbrick my phone ?
i have update.app extracted and etc ... ( please please if anyone can help )
OPTION 1: MAYBE MIGHT BE WHY FLASHING MIGHT NOT BE WORKING
Make sure that you are not trying to flash the recovery.img on the error fastboot look alike screen, because I dont think you can flash files when on that screen error screen. Try to boot into fastboot without the errors on the screen.
OPTION 2: FLASH STOCK KERNEL IMAGE
You can flash kernel images using adb:
"fastboot flash kernel [KERNEL.IMG]"
Make sure that you are not trying to flash the recovery.img on the error fastboot look alike screen, because I dont think you can flash files when on that screen error screen.
OPTION 3: IF YOU WANT TO BOOT INTO TWRP WITHOUT FLASHING
1. Connect device to computer and boot into fastboot, make sure that you are not on the error fastboot look alike screen because I dont think you can flash files when on that screen error screen.
2. On adb, do "fastboot boot [Recovery File]"
3. It should boot into the recovery file you put in there
OPTION 4:: RESET DEVICE FROM ERECOVERY FROM "recovery2"
If those did not work, restart you device and when it says "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted", quickly hold volume up until you have booted into a stock recovery look alike "recovery2", which has an extra button. If you do not have the button, you need to hold the volume up button faster on the "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted" screen. When on the stock recovery look alike screen,, click the option that says something about download latest firmware. Select your wifi and it should download stock oreo and fix device, but though, it will factory reset device.
The Honor 8 has 2 recoveries called maybe "recovery" where you usually flash twrp and "recovery2" when you hold the volume button up on "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted"
The bootloader should relock after this
if you manage to boot into twrp and reflash back to the kernel then you dont have to do this.
