Hey guys, i'm going to copy/paste my post from Tom's Hardware (I felt this may be a better place for the question):
Alright, so, i've been all over google the last two days and I just can't seem to find the right person/post having the exact same problem I am so I figured I'd ask myself.
So, as part as my effort to complete one of the various project I have going on around the house, I rooted and flashed custom recovery on my HTC One m9. Then, I flashed skydragon 10 onto it. This part seems to be fine and dandy.
But I just realized that I have ZERO Sprint software or options on my phone. As in, I can't update my profile and prl (the option is gone), I have no operator or mobile data, and my sim card appears to not be recognized as a Sprint SIM. How do I return those options and my phone's "identity"?
I tried various MMI codes to try and update PRL or somehow get my sprint profile back, but it just says "phone connection error or invalid MMI code". Of course, I assume I'm using MMI codes since that's what my phone's calling them (##72786# or something or other). But, right now, I don't really trust my phone.
As far as first experiences go with ROM flashing, this part has been a nightmare. It's like my phone is having an identity crisis and doesn't know that it's Sprint. I feel like shaking it and screaming "Damn it, Carl, you're not a tablet! You're a Sprint Phone!".
I literally feel 2 steps away from a solution, but I feel like I forgot to do something after flashing the ROM.
Here's what I know so far:
All my settings appear correct (APN, Phone Identity, Software Information)
If I search for Network Operators, Sprint comes up (there are 3 more with X's on them, assuming because it's not carrier-unlocked), but when I try to register, it just says the SIM is not a Sprint SIM i.e. my phone has lost it's identity.
As I'm certain you realize, I don't know much at this point. I saw a lot of answers and jargon and I know what it all means, I just don't know what to apply to my problem specifically. I haven't tried much beyond messing with settings since I'm trying to be cautious., but gosh darn (substitute the appropriate swear).
As far as backups go, I have none. I didn't realize that you could back up the stock ROM (not a single one of many guides mentioned nandroid, which I thought was the android folder misspelled, nor an EFS backup, which I thankfully, don't need... hopefully)
UPDATE: So, my phone keeps the annoying as 2am alarm I'm too lazy to get rid of, but ditches it's wireless carrier. Some priorities...
ACTUAL UPDATE: I'm going to call Sprint and see if I can have my SIM reactivated. First solution I've found that makes a little sense. Will post update later.

Are you serious? That's it? But... I just got to like skydragon... Ah well. Here I was thinking it had to do with flashing the radio's firmware. So glad I didn't do anything like that. Thanks for you help!
Hi there,
I'm new to this forum so, before I say anything, I must apologize in advance in case i'm breaking any rules, and for my english.
I'm from Argentina and my brother brought me an unlocked Sony Z1 (L39h) from USA about a month and a half ago, since it's much cheaper over there. But I haven't been able to use it at all.
At first, the touchscreen didn't work properly. It recognized ghost touches all around the screen, that already made it impossible to use. So I went to sonymobile.com and checked in the support forums. One of the possible solutions was to upgrade to lollipop (it came with kitkat I think). Nothing happened and lollipop seemed to consume a lot more battery, so I decided to downgrade.
And thats when It all started.
I couldn't seem to get any signal. And even If I did with another firmware, I couln't make any phone calls, and if I turned the phone off, again no signal for 24 hs approximately.
I kept trying with other ftf files using flashtool, xperifirm o with direct downloads. No luck. I even lost the baseband number (or something like that) and IMEI. I must have tried like 50 different firmwares.
At first I thought mine was a C6903, but yesterday I realized it is a L39h. Tried again with specific firmwares for the model, but unsuccesfully again.
So, to sum up:
1- Touchscreen Problems
2-No signal, No phone calls (at first I could receive and make them, before I f***ed up with firmwares)
3- No baseband, no IMEI.
4- Don't know which is the original firmware that came with the phone.
I would really appreciate any help. Thanks for reading and in advance!
Hello guys, first time poster, I've been reading these forums a lot for a while now and I really like the content! So I have a Moto G (3rd Gen) through Virgin Mobile. That phone has been running extremely slow, especially in the new app that came out, some of you might heard of it, Pokemon GO. Reading these forums I was able to root this phone (my 1st ever) with the intention of installing a custom ROM to make it faster.
However, being Virgin Mobile, nothing is easy. I installed that Cyanogenmod 13 rom on it, it worked perfect, I really liked it, however I couldn't get it activated. The Virgin Mobile keypad functions didn't work, I called VM and they told me to dial something like '##72786#' and to tell them the number that appeared on the screen, however no number appeared. Kept trying different things and nothing worked, I tried telling them about the rooting, but they never heard of that before... So getting to my point, is there a Virgin Mobile custom ROM that I can flash on the Moto G to get it to move faster? I have a UHS-3 SD card ordered, hopefully that'll help. Any suggestions on what to do? Does anyone know about the Marshmallow update, will that help, is it out yet?
Any help is greatly appreciated it. Thank you.
Hi
This is my first post here. I am not a developer. Just someone that likes IT stuff, Linux and I am not afraid of getting in touch with technology... but this time I am worried to brick my phone. Maybe one of you guys could assist me...
Sorry for my English BTW - not a native speaker. I am German living in Brazil.
My phone
I have a Moto G Turbo XT1556 (merlin) bought at a Brazilian retailer.
It is the 2GB RAM and a Snapdragon 615 version of the Moto G 2015.
I am running an unofficial CM14 7.0 Rom
cm-14.0-20161001-UNOFFICIAL-merlin.zip
which is the latest build so far.
I am facing the 4636 issue.
What happened?
1. I entered the code *#*#4636#*#* into the dailer app.
2. Went to "phone information" in the menu
3. Clicked on the 3 dots Option in the right corner
4. Clicked on Select Radio Band
5. Clicked on United States
Result
Since then the first SIM slot of my phone does not work. Maybe it would if I would live in the US... but I don't. I am sure get the point.
For your better understanding
Before posting here I was reading some XDA and forums talking about this problem.
@xda
A similar problem for the Nexus 6 and a fix for it

A guide that seems to be related to the issue as well
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-unlock-aditional-bands-qualcomm-t2877031
Other forums
In other forums I read that it would be enough to erase some data. But I read also that I would lost my IMEI. That is difficult in Brazil since we need this here (as I know they can block a stolen phone by blocking the IMEI. So I am not sure what this would cause)
Well, as you can see I am not sure what to do since opinions differ a lot. I would like to avoid a certain trail and error ping pong because I don't want to brick my Moto G Turbo XT1556.
My first question:
Do you think that a Stockrom would resolve the problem? I did not do that yet because I wanted to hear some opinions first.
I read that this part is not touched by the Rom installation.
Thanks in advance
martin
Hello XDA,
So, this is my first question ever, even tho I have followed XDA for about 10 years now... I used to flash phones back when xperia x10 was a big thing, however I have not done it in a while, now I'm looking to upgrade my phone S8+ to android 8, as I got it from my carrier here (Kolbi) however I'm possitive there will never be an update from them as is a local-only carrier, and no-one here cares about this so I really don't think it will ever happen. (anytime soon that is)
Anyway, I have g955fxxu1aqj5 and I was wondering if installing another firmarware for say just G955F, would work? (I dont need to have carrier specific firmware) I just care about the phone working fine, camera, conectivity, hardware basically, so my questions is if I can try installing other firmware like this for example:

Thanks in advance.
