[Q] Battery - Ultra Power Saving Mode

Hi guys. I'm new here . I`ve purchased almost 2 weeks ago the 3gb ramb/32 gb gold model of the mate 7 (MT7-TL10) and I have some quoestions about the baterry performance.
In power saving mode at Ultra I never got more than 30 hours, even with battery at 100% charged. I saw some reviews and in Ultra mode they had more than 50 hours.
First attachement picture is my phone. Second and third picture are from reviews that I found - more than 30 hours on ultra. In second picture it shows 67 hours ! :|
I've tried in airplaine mode but same result, I'm not getting more than 30 hours in utra.
The store were I bought the phone, it has the exact same model on display in showroom and it shows in Ultra - 60 Hours with battery full charged.
My question is if your phones shows more than 30 hours on ultra?
An in general battery I think it's draining too fast, but maybe it needs some more recharging cycles, I don't know. I get around 5.30 - 6.30 hours screen on time with brightness at 50- 70 % ( auto disabled) and with short gaming sessions. Internet only with wi-fi.
----------------------------------
In Antutu benchmark, at performance it says "Performance - Average, surpasses 50% of otherd evices" . It is normal? I had high expectation from the baterry. I attached a printscreen.
The last two pictures are with AnTuTu Tester for battery testing with different results . First result was when I had 40% of battery left, and second test was started with battery full charged.
The phone it looks amazing and the screen size it`s perfect, I can't go back to a smaller one now.
I need some advice. Thx. I can return the device until the end of April and get another one of the same model if it has problems with the battery.
Ps - sorry 4 my bad english
The bench marks are good, I'm surprised at the battery. Most reviews have it running at least a full day on heavy use.
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Premium HD app
I am pleased with battery life in general, and get at least 2 days out of it, with normal use. I am charging now, it is around 50% and it says I can get 32 hours on ultra mode and over 15 in smart mode. Fully charged I remember it reacheds over 60 hours.
Thx for the replies. What should I do? It may be something wrong with the battery?
I can't understand why I'm not getting more than 30 hours on ultra... . Solutions?
And I don't like that message in Untutu benchmark - " Baterry Performance - Average, surpasses 50% of otherd evices". Dekraan cand you tell me please if it saying the same? Or someone else?

Got my Ascend Mate last Saturday.
Have the same statistics in Battery remaining time (~28h), also the same thing in the Antutu Benchmark.
If you'll. Just use ultra saving mode buy a Nokia 215 it can last you more than 3 days.
Kidding aside my average use is 24hrs of use. Wifi is on and 6hours of screen time. Thats on smart mode. Bet i can get it higher if i have a good signal. I always get 2-3 bars of signal.

Hi. It's not about that I want to use the phone in ultra power saving mode, I just want to make sure it's nothing wrong with the baterry
Why other phones get 60 hours in ultra power saving and I don't get more than 30 hours?.....
A couple a days ago I went to the store where I bought the phone. They have a showroom there with the exact same model that I got and you can test it. That phone has 60 hours in ultra saving mode. I uploaded a screenshot from that phone (first photo). I want the same numbers....
I did the antutu benchmark with that phone, and it has the same message like mine for baterry performance " - Baterry Performance - Average, surpasses 50% of otherd evices .
So I don't think it's something wrong with the baterry necesary, but I want to make sure because I can return the phone. Maybe it's from the EMUI firmware?
When I got the phone I updated the EMUI.
The phone from the store has different EMUI version than mine. An older version.
I have -MT7-TL10V100R001C00B125SP02
and the phone from the store has MT7-TL10V100R001C00B120SP04 . The strange thing it says that is no update available when I tried to update (EMUI ) the phone from the store. Maybe it was protected.
The last two pictures it's my phone. No more than 30 hours. So what shoud I do? Should I return the phone just for that? Help !

Sorry, I understand now. I get your point cuz when i checked mine. Its 53hrs on ultra mode w/ 85% battery. I have MT7-TL10 with B120SP04. I didn't upgrade my firmware cuz i cant get any from the OTA. so i rooted and ill just wait for the new lollipop update if its good. if not. then ill just stick to stock.
im guessing its the firmware. i have the same one with the demo phone that you have there. maybe you can get to downgrade to the same one that we have. or if there a newer update, do that.

Finaaaaly mistery solved. I think! It's not something wrong with the battery of my phone, it's from the firmware.
Thx for your reply. So you have the same firmware like the demo phone that is in the showroom of the store where I purchased the phone. Lucky you I tried to update that phone last time when I went there and like your phone it says no update available. That is strange , because it's the same gold dual sim 3 gb ram model like mine.
So MT7-TL10V100R001C00B125SP02 firmware drains battery faster or it shows wrong readings? Now I regret that I updated the phone to the last firmware from the day I bought it. And I don't know how to downgrade and there is no new update
Try to do it manually. Try to search it from the forum. I know there's one about downgrading.
Try to read this one. It may have a solution for you.

Hi. thx for the link, I will read it to see how downgrade it's done and after that I will come here with an update.
The latest firmware is B137. You should be able to download it from official Huawei site and manually flash it. See if it gets what you want.

I read that b137 it's only for TL09 models. Mine is TL10
After some more baterry chargin cycles I noticed significant improvement in battery life. So the baterry it's fine, it's from b125 firmware that it's not showing more than 30 hours in ultra. I'll wait and see what lolipop + new EMUI update will bring in may, and after that ..we;ll see...
Hi guys. I have an update.
A couple of days ago I give it a try, and downgraded the EMUI version from B125 to stock - B120
The Results:
So, as you can see, I finally got what I want it - more than 30 hours on Ultra
The downgrade was quite easy without any complications. Just need to follow the steps in the pdf file that comes with the B120 versions under the italian region. I used an micro sd card and updated from the EMUI update menu using an local update. I want to thank to m_adnan for his topic: [Q] MT7-TL10 Europe Version - Reset to Stoc and all of you who replied in this one
I will come with another update and my conclusion about the differences between B125 and B120 besides the Ultra plan

HI EzerchE. No, you don't have to be rooted to do the downgrade. My phone it's not rooted. All you need it's an micro sd card and the EMUI firmware that you have to copy to the card. The update/downgrade it's done through the emui updater that you find under settings menu.
I saw your post in Battery performance thread. You don't need B120 because you have TL09 version, not TL10. B120 it's for TL10 dual sim version.
Here where you must download the EMUI version for your country ( Turkey) : http://consumer.huawei.com/tr/support/downloads/index.htm
You can choose B130 - MT7-L09V100R001C00B130SP08 or your stock version B133 - MT7-L09V100R001C00B133SP11 if you want to downgrade to stock. B130 it's an older version I think, but I see both have been upload it in the same day.

Hi, B130 is for an operator only fw. I can downgrade to B133 only I think. When I bought it was B133.
So how is your battery life now?

Hi. Sorry for replying so late, been very busy this last 2 weeks
I will come tomorrow with some conclusions about the downgrade. The battery life I think it's better, google services doesn't auto start all the time like in b125,

Turkçe yazmamın umarım sakıncası yoktur oncelikle, Cİhaz MT7-L09 rootlu-bootloader kilidi açılmış ve telefon unlocked durumunda üzerinde B137SP11 derlemesi mevcut.Bir çok rom'u kurmayı denedim(B141,B130,B127) ancak başarılı olamadım gerek Hi suite gereksede DLOAD klasorune update.zip dosyaları atarak rom guncellemesi yapsamda basarılı olamadım.Bunun dışında Settings-Update ve menu yolunu izleyerek karşıma gelen update settings kısmında Auto-download via wi-Fi kısmı pasif ve aktif hale GETİRİLEMİYOR(KAPALI),auto check for updates açık halbuki.Fabrika ayarlarına döndürmeden bunu açık hale getirebilir miyim ve hali hazırda boyle oldugunda olaki her hangi bir güncelleme çıkarsa resmi sitesinde(Turkiye-Lollipop 5.1 gibi vb.) bunları alma imkanım olurmu?Teşekkür ederim.

L29 C636 B180 to B193...would you do it again or any regrets?

I only just now got offered that update by the system updater.... the changelog doesn't sound too interesting to me.
And I'm happy with battery life and everything right now, but sure I also don't want to reflash if something is not satisfactory.
The Google Security Fixes would be alright...and I understand that flashing manually to B320/B321 could result in worse battery.
So, therefore, just between B180 & B193.... For the ones who tried: any regrets? Anything much better or worse? Thanks!!
My Mate 8: 4/64 GB, NXT-L29C185B320, EMUI 4.1, no root.
I wouldn´t buy Mate 8 again cause of
- missing automated firmware updates,
- no configurable status bar (e.g. no weekday+date),
- notifications somtimes too late,
- no way to use the full 6" screen.
I'm generally happy with my Mate 8 and those issues don't bother me... Just wondering if I should update or not...

are u rooted and got twrp installed? if so, u could just make a backup of B180 and return to it if not satisfied with B193...
otherwise, if not, just stick to B180, its got good stability, battery life and performance

I'm not rooted this time.....So did you try out B193? And you would say it doesn't bring anything better to the table than B180?
All are.similar firmware.
185 has some Arabic language issues which was corrected in 193 and 320.
320 is EMUI 4.1 while older ones are based on 4.0 version
Thanks!
Any reply here

Should I Upgrade to Android 6.0?

So I have the 703L and the update is there but I am reluctant to upgrade to 6.0 because I heard a couple of people saying it was bad for battery and few other things.
Do you guys think I should hang onto the Android 5.0 or go ahead and upgrade??
Appreciate your opinions!
I reverted back to 5, since 6 was too buggy for me and the battery drain was definitely heavier than on 5. But some people here say, they have a longer battery life on 6, so you can't be sure. If you're satisfied with 5, then don't update, because reverting back to 5 from 6 is a pain.
I get with Android 6 about 7-10 hours SoT, dont have any bugs and Problems so far.
And a rollback is done on a few minutes with an open bootloader.

Honor 8 Nougat Super Battery Drain

I am using an FRD-L09 with EMUI 5.0. Current version is B385. I am experiencing serious battery drain issue. I hardly get 4hrs SOT. I didn't even got a chance to work it out on Android 6 as i got nougat update in the day i bought the phone.Any solution to this other than rollback?
If you want to try.....do a factory reset from recovery but if you are unsatisfied of battery life you could use rollback package (transition package) to downgrade, you will find theese files on honor site in firmware section, with instructions inside the zip files

Its best not to upgrade to emui5. I have done enough analysis and found many people regretting the upgrade than enjoying the new features. I'm yet to upgrade though I got the update out of the box.
Follow this link to rollback FRD-L09 to Marshmallow.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/how-to/problem-frd-l09-t3596449
If a factory reset didn't work, try an update (if available)
If none of the above worked, you stunt have nothing to do but to rollback

Use the guide provided by rommco , and clean the apps in lockscreen clean up and it won't satisfy , better to rollback to emui4.1 , it was good .

Mate 8 general Forum is where you'll find your answer but be careful. You may get a lot of battery drain. I updated to nougat and didn't like it at all because of battery drain. Downgraded to emui 4.1 and although it's a little better, im still getting battery drain so I'm downgrading again back emui 4.
