2017 Fire HD 10". Looking for Tri-fold, Bluetooth keyboard case - Fire Accessories

Over Thanksgiving, my parents said they wanted a new Fire tablet. They are going to get the 2017, Fire HD 10". I'm having trouble finding a case they like though. They want a tri-fold style, that has an included Bluetooth keyboard. I did see a Fintie case that has a little leg that kicks out. That's the one they will take if they can't find a tri-fold one that supports multiple viewing angles. I found them for the gen 5 style, but haven't been able to find it for the 2017s. Anyone know of any?
Thanks for any help

I have a Fire 7, HD 8 and a few 8.9. That said, this folio isn't tri-fold, but it fits the HD 8.9, and "most 9-10in tablets." I wrote a review for it on the 8.9 forum. It really is a great accessory, and hard to find one this good to fit an Amazon tablet.

Case
I have the IVSO All-New Amazon Fire HD 10 Keyboard Case. It's a bit pricey but well made and nice to use.

[Q] Tablet for school?

I have been looking very closely at the VS gTablet for school. However, I am concerned about functionality versus a tablet PC (laptop convertible). Can anyone shed some light in both areas (experiences); because I am stuck deciding between a Lenovo 201 and the VS gTab. Also, is it possible to use a mouse and keyboard or a stylus (for note taking / drawing) on the gTab? Thanks!
I'm really looking for something to be able to take written notes with, record lectures, access internet for downloading notes and other materials.
Based on some of the research I have done; I have the following pro's and con's to decide from:
Lenovo 201:
Pro's: Comes with a digitizer pen, has more storage space, easily convertible, and works right out of the box.
Con's: Battery life, weight, and price.
VS gTab:
Pro's: Android OS, light, decent battery life, very portable, and price.
Con's: No digitizer pen, space not as upgradeable (correct me if I'm wrong), and needs to be modded to get full functionality.
Feel free to include anything I may have missed. Thanks in advance!
Go with the Lenovo, if you really want it for Pure school, and some basic functionallity
Well, the Lenovo may be out of the question after their sale ends tonight. It's too bad, get a $2800 tablet pc for $1600. I haven't received my student funds yet. If Lenovo doesn't have a sale like this later, I think the VSgTab will be the way to go.
Why don't you get the galaxy s tab?

+1 it will fit in your budget
http://www.androidostablet.com/android-tablet/android-tablet-alu.html
has anyone tried these... seem good to me, i dont own one though.
It may, but it is also more expensive than the VS G Tab or the Archos 101. When I buy electronics, I tend to lean towards the powerhouses versus the mid to low end stuff. Not saying the galaxay isn't one of those; but the CPU that the GTab and Archos 101 offer are really nice!
But, at this point, it is a decision between the VS GTab and the Archos 101. I did find a capacitive stylus made by Pogo Sketch (broader head pen type) and DAGi (finer pen type) that should work for taking notes with. The biggest problem I face atm is the lack of stores in my area that have active demo models.

[Q] Tablet 7 inch advice

Hello guys
Im looking at purchasing a 7 inch tablet for the wife, i would just buy her a gtab, but she wants something small enough to fit in her bag, so ive been looking at 7 inch tablets. Here are some that ive looked at so far.
NOOK Color (bezel is prob gonna be too large for her bag)
Elocity A7 (looks good, but prob wont be getting HC)
Viewpad 7 (this looks good)
So thats what ive looked at so far, im sure im missing plenty of other good 7 inch tablets out in the market that i just dont know about.
If you guys could pass on some suggestions and comments on the ones ive looked at, i would be truly thankful.
NOOK Color is 7" I have one it's really good lots of rom but I upgraded to the G Tablet for the 10 inch. I would recommend going with NOOK Color and I have one for sell lol .
+1 for the Nook Color. With the latest stable CyanogenMod rom on it the thing is pretty cool and it has really good build quality and it's cheaper than the Viewpad 7".
I got the Color Nook for my wife and now she can read her books, play most android games, and watch movies on the Netflix app.
You can likely find the 7" Galaxy Tab for cheap with a bit of looking. Woot had them last week for about $270 shipped. Not much developer support for it, but Samsung is rolling out a 2.3 update, and that may be all you need. I bought the Sprint version for my gf off of Craigslist for $250, and it's a solid little tablet. I keep it in Airplane Mode to conserve battery and just use the Wifi part of it.
Thanks guys for the feedback, i like the look of the Nook, how big is that bezel ? looks kind of large.
Actually compared to some 7" builds, IMO, the bezel adds to the solid-ness of the NC. (just under 2cm each side) I have two (one to tinker and a daily driver) and enjoy both. Load the CM7 (7.0), netflix and Aldiko you're good to go. Very very simple to root/flash.

8.9 iLuv Executive Case w/BT Keyboard

iLuv Executive Case w/BT Keyboard.
I'm ordering one of these today and will update when I get it. You can remove the keyboard if you want and it seems like a fair price compared to the Samsung OEM keyboards.
Edit:
I guess it would help if I included a link, sorry. Here you go:

Let us know how it is. I keep hoping that Targus will make a version of their Versavu iPad2 Keyboard case for the Galaxy Tab 8.9. I know a couple people who have one for their iPad and it is a nice keyboard case.

I agree, please do let us know how it is once you receive it. I am contemplating purchasing it. Frankly, if I was being honest, one of the major factors of this case that is keeping me from getting it is the "iLuv" branding on the clip. I don't think this was a necessary move, but hey at least they made a case with a removable keyboard!
As for Targus' iPad version of the case, it looks extremely nice.
Alot more companies REALLY need to expand out and develop more Samsung 8.9 cases (there aren't that many options).
I will update if I ever receive it. I have to call Amazon customer service. I'm not sure why, I am being told it is on back order, even though if you look at the site today, it says they are in stock. This kind of stuff just completely aggravates me.

Hmm, on that note, I think I'll just stick with my original pick and go this route:
ViperTek Slim Folio Case for the Samsung Galaxy 8.9 and
Logitech Bluetooth Keyboard for Android 3.0+

I might look at that option as well. After arguing with Amazon for twenty minutes, I told them to cancel the order and refund my card. Makes no sense why my product is on back order when they still as of today show they are in stock from 6 different merchants.
How about this bluetooth case? Looks similar and cheaper cost wise?

Well in case anyone orders one of these let me save you the trouble.
The keyboard is excellent, but the case is sized for a 10" tablet. The pictures on the Amazon.com website are misleading because they show the case and the tablet being perfectly sized together, but now I'm quite sure they are pics of the 10.1 model. Basically it fits fine, but you end up with about 1" of empty space all around the 8.9 (yuck).

They sell these things for the iPad, Galaxy 10.1 and a few others with just the pocket that the tablet slides into being custom to each model. So if you don't mind carrying around a 10" case with a really nice BT keyboard then you might like this one. Like I said the keys are really high quality and feel nice to touch type with. I'm sending it back for a refund.
Just curious,
Iluv makes 2 type of keyboard
BLK14 is 8.9" and BLK12 is for 10.1". Pretty sure the one in amazon is 8.9"?

good cheap 7in hackable tablet?

I'm looking for a 7in tablet for my wife, which ideally I'd like to be able to put some nice ROMs on for her, hopefully ICS. The kindle fire and nook tablet are obvious choices, but both seem a little sub-par in different respects. Fire is low on specs and nook is not so hackable from what I have read. Would anyone recommend any other 7in tablets that beat these two out, or are they the best 7 inchers at the moment?
If price isn't a barrier, go for the new Galaxy Tab +
Flyer also seems to be good
Or, get the Galaxy Tab 7 (first one) - great piece of hardware, and we've already released some ics roms :-D
From my fingers to your eyez

kindlefire end of story
HTC Flyer..the Fire has been labeled a fail, and they plan to come out with a new version by February already. The Flyer gets tons of dev support, and is super easy to root and hack.
I found a good deal on the HTC EVO 4G. how is this compared to the HTC flyer, the kindle fire and the nook tablet?
I also found today that the acer iconia a100 is the same price as a nook tablet. how's that for performance and hackability?

I think the info you got is seriously incorrect.
Kindle Fire's spec is great. It's got a dual-core OMAP4! Its only downside is storage expandability and lack of camera.
Nook Color (1st gen) is by far extremely hackable, but its hackability does not guaranteed you ICS.
Nook Tablet (2nd gen) is NOT hackable as of now due to signed bootloader.
If you can afford a high price point, I think Samsung Galaxy tab 7.7 is extremely attractive (except for the price).

Should a universal active stylus work on Tab A8 T290 (without S pen support)?

In this video review, the guy says (at 3:18) this tablet DOES NOT support an "active pen". I hope he is mistaken and just means it doesn't support specifically the "S pen". Should a universal active pen work with the Tab A8 T290? I think of buying the pen below, the manufacturer says it should work on any touch screen. The problem is that, if it doesn't work, I won't be able to return, I am in Italy and will send it to my niece in Brazil... so I have to make sure. Thanks if you can help!

"Active" pens, which are battery powered, work with devices that have a digitizer layer on the display. The non-S pen model Tab A won't support those pens.
Instead, you can use the universal non-battery or battery-powered capacitive stylus or pens, like these ones:

Or

I already tried the first one but the experience wasn't good enough for me. The second one is arriving next week & I'm hoping it'll be better.
Coincidently, I already have exactly the first cheaper Meko. I had bought it in order to save money and use it on my Windows Surface 3, it didn't work... I can in fact write a whole sentence with a lot of pain, but not really usable. The bigger soft tip is always responsive, but not nice for note taking. In the end, I had to spend more money and buy the Surface pen (which is very good). I've also tried the cheap Meko on an iPad, it works better, but not really good enough for note taking. I haven't tried it on an Android device, though.
Please let me know if the Meko with the battery works better.
Thanks for your answer.

Unfortunately, and against my expectation, the battery-powered Meko pen performed worse! [emoji34] Instead of smooth lines, it was just dots everywhere.
On my iPad, though, it worked flawlessly.
I ended up returning both of the Meko pens.

So you mean the battery-powered Meko worked well on your iPad but not on your other device? Which one is it? Would it be Samsung Tab A8?
I guess it's a matter of luck, these styluses respond differently depending on the device.
I've been testing again the cheaper Meko Stylus (with no battery). These are the devices I've tried:
Surface 3 - very bad, not usable. 1 star.
iPad 4 - it could be used, but very painfully, not practical. 2 stars.
iPad 6 (2018) - very good, not great. It is usable to take important notes, like school notes. 4 stars.
Huawei P20 pro - very similar to iPad 6, responds very well. 4 stars.
Cheap Android phone (Leagoo) - very bad, 1 star.
I'm thinking of trying my luck on that "AICase Active Stylus Pen" (the one I put the link before, you can find in Amazon Italy)... it's an active stylus for 25 euros with a glove to rest the palm on the screen.
Thanks for you answer.... and please let me know if you find some good stylus for Samsung Tab A8 T290.

On my iPad, both of the Meko pens worked well - 4/5 for the disc-based one, and 5/5 for the battery one.
On my Tab A, the disc one worked better than the battery one - 3 vs 1.
I found this pen on Amazon for the Tab A that has good reviews:

I was about to state that ALL "active stylii" require a second digitizer to work but apparently that isn't totally true. I bought a BoxWave stylus to use with my HP Envy X360 laptop, and just to verify that it wouldn't work without the second digitizer, like the ones for the S-Pen, I tried it with my T510. I have never used a stylus for drawing, so I don't know if it works as well as an S-Pen for that, but it DOES work and it DOES produce a "ballpoint pen" type line. Their "MSRP" is fairly high, but if you shop around, you can get one fairly cheap. I got mine in eBay for about $20. New with free shipping.
My "AICase Active Stylus" (from Amazon Italy) just arrived. It works very well, except that the glove that comes with it is useless, you can still use your finger to write with the glove on. I'm struggling to find some material that I can use to rest my palm... It's very uncomfortable to write without being able to rest your palm on the screen.
I would say it's a bit better than the passive Meko Stylus, especially for the iPad 4, which has an older screen. It has a metal tip, so you should have a screen protector to prevent scratches.
I've tried on these devices:
Surface 3 - doesn't work, it makes a few lines, but not good at all.
iPad 4 - works well enough
iPad 6 - very good, works a bit better than on the iPad 4
Huawei P20 pro - works similarly to iPad 6
I still haven't tried on a Samsung tablet.
