Back up your data with Backup app, make an FDR and then restore your data with Backup app.
Update: To do an FDR, go to Settings-->Advanced Settings-->Backup & Reset-->Factory Data Reset.

Solved it!
Root - needed.
EMUI 5.0.1
Android 7.0
FRD-L04
* I belive it should work for all 7.0 various but NOT tested
I've been able to restore all Huawei stock apps and features.
I've copied hw_init folder (copied from another fully working Honor 8 device) to his place and restarted the device (use an explorer that have root access, I've used Solid Explorer).
That's it!
Folder full path: root\data\hw_init
I'll do my best to upload the folder later this weekend.

Best way to restore apps, data (and possibly settings)

Hi all.
I tend to switch Roms here and there, or load a new version and have to wipe and format.
I was wondering what the best way to restore is.
I am debating between;
Using titanium backup to restore only apps plus data - is this best to load the ROM and restore after installing the titanium app?
Or make a zip file and install from recovery? Also if from recovery, should I let the ROM load first then load zip second time around?
Alternately, I can use my backup pro and restore all. But again, is it a zip file to restore in recovery ? And if yes, when is best to do it? After ROM install or let ROM load first? I noticed recovery pro also has the options of sms, call logs and other settings which is nice.
Please let me know your thoughts and if any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Titanium for when you are rooted and Helium for when you are not rooted. Helium also backups sms calls if i`am right. I use CallTrack to store the phonelogs and display them in Google Calendar.
Hi and thanks. I am rooted.

I have used titanium for years, has never failed me. It also backs up and restores sms and mms. I have also used rom toolbox pro and my backup pro in the past.

[Q] How do I backup all my apps & data before firmware upgrade?

My lenovo a3500 tablet informs me that there is a 4.4.2 update available, but also that it will format the whole device...
Can I backup all my installed apps, data and settings with a single application, and restore them back after the update?
Bro official firmware do not delete apps or data..... You can go on updating it

is it telling you that it will format the whole device!! In case yes, then you need backup. otherwise i don't think we lose data with official firmware update. but maybe with major updates, like 4.0.1 to 4.4.2 or likewise....
to backup whole device like firmware/rom etc.... device needs to be rooted and custom recovery installed to restore back to old version/settings. but for only apps backup there are applications with root and without root options. i'm not sure that they take apps data backup too or not. maybe some apps. most make backup of .apk installation file only i think.
sometime after update device lag or anything similar.... then what mostly is recommended first is "factory reset". so that sure delete some data from phone. for that one need to backup apps etc in case needed.... and i believe there are app for backups with root and without roots.
hope, it helped.

[Q]Question regarding complete backup(Android OS)

Hello,
I was wondering if it was possible to make a complete backup of my phone. By complete I am referring to A Complete Carbon Copy of my phone including OS & All.
Thanks In Advance

You're going to have to be rooted to do a full backup. You need to look into that first.
Once you've done that, you can then install a backup app from the store such as nandroid backup.
If you install a custom recovery like twrp, you can also do a full backup.

Question about upgrading from Lollipop to Marshmallow.

When Marshmallow is released Monday and downloadable. Is there a way to upgrade my N5 without loosing my storage data?
Are you bone stock? If so it will be pushed ota and won't affect your data. If not, back up first with something like titanium backup and restore after upgrading

Yup bone stock
Just wondering if I dl it. Will I have to wipe more phone or do the ~W delete and just upgrade over lollipop
Does any one know the estimated time for release tomorrow

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure you'd have to wipe everything if you did it that way.

Not flashing userdata.img or the -w trick should do the trick.

If you can, I'd also run a TWRP (or other recovery) backup before upgrading, and safeguard that off the device first.
I'd also back up the "sdcard" -- One way to do that (assuming you've got adb access to your phone) is to use adb with
Code:
adb backup -f <name of backup file> -a -shared
Before restoring with TitaniumBackup, I'd make sure that you've set:
MENU > GENERAL > Preferences... > RESTORATION SETTINGS > Migrate system data [V]
As usual, when restoring across major version numbers, restoring data from XML is likely the safest, with binary ("101") restores of data being somewhat less robust.
If any of this concerns you (and it probably should) and you're running stock, then waiting for the OTA would be a prudent approach.

questions on titanium backup

Hi guys,
I currently have a nexus 5, rooted, exposed installed phone.
However, I m thinking to use titanium backup to backup some of my app (maybe sytem data). I do have some questions tho.
1st, I heard it is not recommend to backup system data since they are not the same.. is it truth?
2nd, Since nexus 5 do not have a SD tray. If i would backup my apps data and format my phone later. Where can i store those backup files? Can i Move the titanium backup folder to my pc first, format my phone, install titanium backup on the new devices, move files back to the original location and hit restore? Can I do that? Or there is anyway to workaround?
1. Yes it is.
2. You can backup them in the cloud or on your PC. No problem to restore them later.

Can't do cloud since mine was free version
BTW, if I'm moving from lollipop to marshmallow. Does the back file still work ?

Yes (user data ONLY) but you need a permissive SELinux on Marshmallow.

I only plan to backup user app+data, won't do system data since it won't be compatible

Titanium backup won't restore apps under Marshmallow unless SELinux mode set to permissive...

No idea what is selinux... Is it hard to setup?
I guess I should stay away from marshmallow than.
What about restore within lollipop?
Just google for se linux mode changer app. Very simple to change to permissive. Needs root, but this does Titanium Backup too.
