Is it possible to flash N950U with N950U1 firmware? - General Questions and Answers

I am confused.
I am aware a carrier N950U can be flashed with the N950U1.
What is the difference between the N950U Sprint firmware and the N950U1 Sprint firmware?
Is there a way to flash a N950U1 firmware on N950U Sprint firmware?

Hi mate ,
I have a N950u Verizon factory unlocked , I want to flash unbranded N950u1 , please guide how you did it? Did 7 days OEM option rule work?

Hello did anyone get a lead on a link to the OS needed and how to go about it? Phone was previously carrier free and I updated using Odin to an OS which is Sprint branded, would like to use a global unlocked version please

I'm pretty sure that it is possible to flash the T-Mobile ROM on the MetroPCS S7.
Yes you can, download SM-G930T Firmware (recommended from Updato.com and flash via odin following one of the many guides around the forum.

using G930A variant on tmo network

I was given an S7 G930A variant brand new. I would assume that it's locked to AT&T. It runs 6.0.1 and has G930AUCS4APK1. I want to use it on tmo network and learned here that people approach it differently by either flashing G930U or G930T to it. What is the best approach? Thanks for your suggestion
is it that much unpopular that no one has any suggestion? I'm surprised.
If you want a bloat free experience just flash the G930U firmware. If you don't mind the tmobile bloatware, you can flash the G930T firmware. I use the G930U firmware on a Tracfone branded S7 since am not located in the US. For me the U firmware is best.

You would also need to unlock it if its network locked to AT&T, unlock before flashing.

Soft or Hard carrier unlock for Verizon S8+?

Hi,
I need to carrier unlock a Verizon Samsung S8+.
I was told by one of these unlock code service sites that the Verizon S8+ cant be "code" unlocked. Can it be jailbreak unlocked?
is that possible?
Thanks in advance

Hi sorry to bother again, the Prince Cosmi Odin link is dead - if I omit the flashing step, is the phone still unlocked?
I'm looking to sell it on eBay as unlocked. As long as the buyer has no problems, that's all im concerned about.
Many many thanks
edit: sorry, I misunderstood, Im downloading the official firmware to flash. Thanks

This is specifically for ATT. If you're looking for the latest sprint firmware for your device, it would be G965USQU1ARBG containing SPR USERDATA.

Ok thanks. Wasn't sure if I could throw the SPR USER DATA in with this firmware
Can I flash this on my unlocked SM-G965U1? I use AT&T as my provider. Also, if I needed can I go back to stock? Thanks.
I have an ATT S9 plus (already unlocked with codes from Ebay). So this flash will make my ATT ver become the Unlocked ver? I need the hotspot feature of the unlock ver. I don't need Wifi calling or VOLTE from ATT ver because I have never use those.

No it won't... I've flashed the G965U AT&T firmware on to 5UI unlocked with AT&T user data and both the home csc and regular csc files, and none of the carrier specific software works. Furthermore, you will limited to only 4G speeds during phone calls on the 5UI, at least with a AT&T sim card. This is my biggest pet peeve with this phone.

I used the files from this thread :

Unfortunately I don't have the time to try this again and fail, but I would love for someone to prove me wrong...
So can I flash the unlock version on my galaxy s9 plus Originally AT&T but is unlocked now

I don't know what I may have done differently, but did exactly what you did and I have everything working. Flashed AT&T rb7/rbg and user data over stock u1 firmware after factory reset. Volte/wifi calling, lte during phone calls and video calling work for me. I'm att/att/xaa, knox wasn't tripped.
The only thing I have as a complaint is it doesn't fetch ota's. So I have been reseting and Odin-ing updates as they roll out.
Thanks op for the files

@bboii86
Hope you do not mind me asking but I am new to Galaxy devices. Nexus/Pixel was always my choice but after having a bug filled Pixel XL 2 I decided to give the S9+ a shot. Not familiar with how the firmware for them work so I thought to ask you since you look to be very helpful in this thread.
I have T-Mobile S9+ which was updated to latest March 1 security update. I would like to flash it to the unlocked firmware. Is this https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=182E00202C6211E89F15FA163EE8F90B the same unlock firmware you posted?
Would I be able to use WiFi Calling, HD Calling and all other features on T-Mobile with the unlocked firmware?
Thanks for the help!
