This is specifically for ATT. If you're looking for the latest sprint firmware for your device, it would be G965USQU1ARBG containing SPR USERDATA.

Ok thanks. Wasn't sure if I could throw the SPR USER DATA in with this firmware

Can I flash this on my unlocked SM-G965U1? I use AT&T as my provider. Also, if I needed can I go back to stock? Thanks.

I have an ATT S9 plus (already unlocked with codes from Ebay). So this flash will make my ATT ver become the Unlocked ver? I need the hotspot feature of the unlock ver. I don't need Wifi calling or VOLTE from ATT ver because I have never use those.

Yes you can flash this on to the Unlocked Model and will give you the Carrier specific features like Wifi calling.

No it won't... I've flashed the G965U AT&T firmware on to 5UI unlocked with AT&T user data and both the home csc and regular csc files, and none of the carrier specific software works. Furthermore, you will limited to only 4G speeds during phone calls on the 5UI, at least with a AT&T sim card. This is my biggest pet peeve with this phone.

I used the files from this thread :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s9-plus/how-to/g965u-g965u1-firmware-links-t3763487
Unfortunately I don't have the time to try this again and fail, but I would love for someone to prove me wrong...

So can I flash the unlock version on my galaxy s9 plus Originally AT&T but is unlocked now

I don't know what I may have done differently, but did exactly what you did and I have everything working. Flashed AT&T rb7/rbg and user data over stock u1 firmware after factory reset. Volte/wifi calling, lte during phone calls and video calling work for me. I'm att/att/xaa, knox wasn't tripped.
The only thing I have as a complaint is it doesn't fetch ota's. So I have been reseting and Odin-ing updates as they roll out.
Thanks op for the files

@bboii86
Hope you do not mind me asking but I am new to Galaxy devices. Nexus/Pixel was always my choice but after having a bug filled Pixel XL 2 I decided to give the S9+ a shot. Not familiar with how the firmware for them work so I thought to ask you since you look to be very helpful in this thread.
I have T-Mobile S9+ which was updated to latest March 1 security update. I would like to flash it to the unlocked firmware. Is this https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=182E00202C6211E89F15FA163EE8F90B the same unlock firmware you posted?
Would I be able to use WiFi Calling, HD Calling and all other features on T-Mobile with the unlocked firmware?
Thanks for the help!

moving to another carrier, what about future firmware updates?

I'm moving my SM-920V from Verizon to Tmobile. My baseband version is currently specific to Verizon so when I switch will my future firmware updates be coming from Tmobile and will the baseband version change to reflect Tmobile?
I guess what I'm confused about is if I were to manually download and install a future firmware would I be looking for one that is Tmobile branded for my phone?

That is what I was mainly wondering. So it sounds like it is safe to download the tmobile firmware for my model of S6 and install that firmware when I move to Tmobile? Or did you mean if I change out my actual phone (hardware) to a Tmobile variant?

Thanks, while it's downloading, I'll give it the good college try to try to find a current version online too but so many places are full of clickbait links that they're worthless.
I would *consider* signing up with sammobile but I hate to give any cc info out to online places like that.

Galaxy S8+ XFINITY Unroot

I have a galaxy s8+ through xfinity like that title says and would like to unroot because of some issues but was wandering which stock firmware to download. I believe xfinity works through verizon towers so should I use verizons stock firmware? Its a G955U by the way.

I did this trying to go from a Verizon to Unlocked. Also, tried going to T-Mobile. I left off User Data on the unlocked variant, but nothing changed even though it showed successful. Any help?!
I am having to drive to a friend's to do this on a Windows computer because I can't figure it out on my Mac. $10 if anyone can simplify how to do it on a Mac. I'm use to using ADB, not Odin.

Just got my S9+ from Samsung (won in a contest via their Twitter) anyhow...they asked which device I wanted, I said Unlocked model, they sent a Tmobile variant, and it is unlocked as I am using it another carrier sim... I carrier switched 2 different S8+ last year and I don't find myself on here much anymore, other than to answer emails and help people fix their stuff.... Just wondering if I can still just flash the XAA or the XAR version firmware files via patched Odin and all will be well.
The tmobile variant isn't really bloated perse, but it does have a couple tmobile apps that I would prefer to get rid of and I'd prefer to have it on U1 firmware, are there any issues to do it currently?
One other question... What's the difference between the XAA and XAR firmware? I've used the XAA in the past for the s8+ g55u1 but this phone has both firmware files and I can't figure out where there is both, as to my knowledge both are unlocked firmware files.
Thanks

Have you updated your phone yet? The Unlocked is still stuck on February Patch and hasn't been updated whereas T-Mobile already pushed the June update out IIRC and you won't be able to flash it.
Honestly, keep the T-Mo variant as even the Unlocked Model comes with bloat like Facebook.

Stupid question. So I did the firmware flash, originally had the 965u. So now when we are finally able to root(if ever) do I have to look for roms(or any other hacks) for the 965u or the 965u1 since that's what I flashed? Also I received the June update the other day. Hopefully that doesn't screw anything up for me.

I should state that I'm up in Canada, so we're using a different set of regional codes. Nevertheless the latest avialable build I see is: G965WOYV1ARC1 (I have no idea what security level this is). My carrier is still on a February security patch level with build number: G965WVLU1ARBG.

I would be very careful in attempting to load another regions firmware on your Canadian variant. There have be some users who have reported ending up with a bricked device attempting this sort of update. While you can find stock Odin files for our devices, it's still on the v1 bootloader. Not worth the pain...

Let me know if you successfully flash on your device then I'll do it as I'm from Bell mobility
I got the downloads to go through. Will report once flashing is complete. Not sure which firmware will be on the phone when it arrives (att variant) but I'm gonna be flashing u1 then newest rc6 TMobile firmware. Hoping to have full features working as if originally a TMobile variant.
On a side note (mods please excuse) but Samsung. Com has the att variant on sale $639 ($200 off) and since I'm trading in my old s7 I'm getting an additional $200 off so $439 ($466 after tax) for a brand new s9+! Once i flash the TMobile firmware I'll be happy and for $400 off!
Anyone know if i need to sim unlock before flashing this? I've read about having to flash the unlocked rom before flashing the T-Mobile Rom and that's my other question. Can i just flash this tmobile firmware to the phone fresh out of the box or do i need to go to unlocked first (doesn't seem right) and put my TMobile sim in and be good?
My thoughts were that i could just sim unlock thorough a 3rd party then Odin the TMobile firmware and be done. Thanks

You have to unlock your device first, before flashing any other firmware besides your carrier firmware. Flashing unlock firmware, will not unlock your device.

SIM unlock has nothing to do with firmware/rom flashing. You can flash to any U/U1 firmware you want and your device will still be in the same carrier lock/unlock state it was before.
T-Mobile does do things a little differently, however. Flashing a different firmware won't SIM unlock your phone, but I do believe you need to be on a legitimate T-Mobile firmware to unlock the device via their built in unlocking app.
Awesome thanks guys. Will just get a 3rd party unlock service then flash.
If you got it from [email protected] they will unlock it free of charge. And if you didn't I would still try with them first before paying
Will use it to update my converted s9 plus from att to tmobile firmware.

Im just waiting for Rogers in Canada to push out their latest update, which they say is now available, and its not. I want to see if they have updated from U1 to U2 before taking the plunge with this firmware.
What's the benefit to having T-Mobile f/w over unlocked? Or what's better about having unlocked? I'll be using it only on T-Mobile.

Reflash AT&T 20 Ultra to Unlocked Firmware?

I've looked through threads of people doing the reverse of this. It's been a few years since I've had an android and was running nexus devices then. What's the process to flash an unlocked firmware on an AT&T locked 968U to the 968U1 firmware (assuming there aren't issues doing it)?
Are there any other pitfalls I need to be aware of prior to doing it other than the wifi calling?
If this is already posted somewhere else, please feel free to point me there. I didn't see any info about going from a carrier locked 968U to unlocked firmware.
Thanks in advance.

I just did this today went from TMB locked one to unlocked (For a family member) mine is unlocked. All went well no problems at all. Just download the U1 Firmware you want to flash and for CSC use home_csc (In ODin) so you can keep your data and probably the wifi calling feature too ( i did that all features are intact). Use the Odin and firmware from Ota and non Ota thread . Enjoy

What did you gain that made it worth it for you? Also, I'm on a Locked ATT/Firstnet Ultra and am wondering if flashing to an Unlocked Firmware would give me more control of my device.

If your on FirstNet I recommend that you stay on ATT branded software, I'm not sure if band 14 will work properly for you if you are on unlocked software. Thank you for your service!

You can get VoLTE back, but yeah, WiFi calling is not gonna happen.

The thread is for T-Mobile, but most of it works with AT&T devices as well.

I flashed the U1 firmware (ATJ3) onto my AT&T Note Ultra, then flashed the Home CSC from the AT&T U firmware. I have VoLTE and WiFi calling.
Help!
Hello all, I have a Note 20 Ultra 5g that is unlocked and I'm looking to flash the original ATT firmware for this device.
Having this unlocked version on Firstnet has been nothing but problems and I don't have access to band 14 or wifi calling.
I see this thread is a little old but if anyone could help me out or send me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it!
I have rooted some of my older phones several several years ago so I think I could pick this back up pretty quickly. I know over the years things seem to get easier and have probably changed quite a bit since I've last done something like this.
Thanks in advance!

My comment was made before we were able to change IMS settings directly.
You can get it all now. VoLTE, WiFI Calling, RCS, Video calling...

AT&T hasn't released any "official" firmware for the Note 20 series.
Since Samsung firmware is multi CSC, just flash any firmware with the same build number as the AT&T variant and use your AT&T SIM card.
Go to this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/ota-and-non-ota-firmware-for-n986u-and-n986u1.4143833/
Make sure you know what device you have, U or U1. Then grab the appropriate version.
Fir AT&T U devices, N986USQU2DUCA or N986USQU2DUCA will work.
For AT&T U1 devices, N986U1UEU2DUCB is the most recent version.
