Anyone with the U11 on Oreo tested substratum support and how complete it is? Nougat had some basic legacy support from oms but Oreo is supposed to have much better support in stock Android.
Yes, it supports.

So I just read some stuff about Treble and how it could speed up ROM development on devices that support it. Can anyone here who knows more about the subject comment on getting support to the Honor 8?

If I got it right, it needs Android Oreo official support.
Yep, Treble support depends on manufacturer. However, we first need Oreo update in order to check if Treble is supported on H8. And yes, custom ROM development will speed up. There have been pretty stable and almost bugless ROMs for Huawei devices (with no 60 fps bug, he composition, full camera support) which have Treble Support with the latest Oreo update.

it is the same list published in xda, those are already updated to oreo. we will know if treble support is present or not when honor 8 is updated to oreo.

I dont think Honor 8 will receive Oreo update
I hope it gets updated :crying: if not honor can kma.
Could I use the beta version? I don't think they will release oreo for honor 8. What about changing from L09 to AL00? Then I will need only TWRP with Oreo support in order to flash Treble Roms. I hope that only emui is unstable on this device. Even if the beta is unstable, could the vendor part be stable?
I think that the beta firmware for Honor 8 does support treble.
Can anyone confirm if Honor 9i has project support treble support inbuilt? Once the Phone is updated to Oreo and if it is Treble supported Porting of ROM will be much faster and cleaner. It will definitely aid horizontal ROM development irrespective of SOC in the device.

Dude, i know Trebel is for Oreo. But if anyone can confirm Honor 9i has required support (Most probably the partition requirement). Honor 8 Pro is Nougat based phone but Huawei has confirmed that the phone will support Trebel once it is updated to Oreo. Hope this helps.

Honor 9i has been updated to oreo 8.0 with EMUI 8.0 & yes, it officially supports project treble.
I know it is possible and some developers did it but they are for Snapdragon only.
Is there one for Kirin devices? I would love to have EMUI 9 in my Honor 8.
That would be amazing but...unfortunately not possible at all. If you want you can taste Pie with a custom rom (like OpenKirin Omni Pie)
When is planned to add VoLTE support in LineageOS?
I just flash phh's AOSP in my cactus, and it fall into a boot loop.
Does it don't support Treble?
Devices with Android Oreo and higher supports Project Treble out-of-the-box
