How to add native VoLte support on G930T? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

I am on latest firmware, no root. Why T-mobile disabled VoLte

I just downloaded the November security update, and VoLTE is enabled as it was before updating.

I've had it since I've been on the UnCarrier side of Tracfone (which is since I've had it active). Before I had it active, I was piloting a Galaxy Nexus (which supported neither VoLTE or VoWiFI); while it claimed to support LTE, it was trapped with LTE band 13, which does NOT support that LTE feature set very well, nor does it support VoLTE at all). I just re-enabled VoWiFi as a test (running the AT&T Oreo firmware - still on T-Mobile side of Tracfone).

Anyone Using an Unlocked Exynos S7 or S7 Edge on Tmobile or Metro PCS ?

I am very interested in using the Exynos S7 on Metro PCS/ Tmobile due to about 20% better battery life.
What I will get is 1 hour or more of SOT compared to Snapdragon.
What I will lose ( probably ) is*
VoLTE - this means you have fast [LTE ] Internet while on a call- great for business customers.
Those using Exynos Phones in USA..
1) Do you have simultaneous Voice and Data ?
2) What Band is your Phone on while on the Internet during a Call? H+ is quite fast IF the phone stays there.
IF the phone drops to 3G during calls the Internet will be slow.
A) Why do I need Voice and Internet simultaneously ?
Business Calls -when you need to reference something Online during a call.
B) It was amazing to me a few years back how few people knew what VoLTE is - (voice and data on LTE= simple) Metro PCS was one of the very first to have it back in 2012 which is one of the reasons Tmobile bought Metro.
C) VoLTE USUALLY requires specific Carrier Software (and a VoLTE capable Device)- so not transferable from one Carrier to another - Android was going to include it as Standard Option in Android BUT this never happened.
So Exynos Users S7 or S7 Edge in USA how is simultaneous Voice and Data working for you?
About VOLTE, while it is not enabled by default on unbranded handsets (phones using CSC such as: XEF, BTU, DBT,XOA...), you can flash a carrier ROM CSC (one from a carrier that handles VOLTE, like BOG) and the feature will be enabled after a factory reset of the phone, the feature once unlocked can be used on any carrier and does not require any specific carrier software to work
1) Yes it does, that's part of the WCDMA standard, however if you are connected to a LTE network that does not handle VOLTE or if the VOLTE feature is not enabled on the phone, it will use CS callback and drop from LTE to HSPA for the duration of the call
2) During CS fallback, the phone uses "H+" (which is really Dual Carrier HSPA)
Where can you get flashable csc? Am I chasing Unicorn here?
Btw OP i am currently using 64GB version of Samsung Galaxy S7 from Korea - g930s.
It stays at H+ during the call.

Unlocked J327A on T-Mobile: can I enable VoLTE and wifi calling?

I just got an unlocked Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) J327A from Amazon. This is an unlocked version of an AT&T prepaid phone. My T-Mobile SIM works OK with it. But: (1) VoLTE is not enabled, meaning T-Mobile will not work on 700 MHz Band 12 (which is the whole reason I got this phone, we don't have coverage here on any other band) and (2) wifi calling is greyed out and unavailable.
I had not realized there is more to switching between carriers than just "locked" or "unlocked", because there are different features beyond the basics that are either supported or not supported, and it turns out that having either VoLTE and/or Wifi Calling is pretty much essential for me now.
I'm an utter newbie regarding firmware mods. Is there any hope of changing the firmware on this model to enable VoLTE on T-Mobile and/or wifi calling on T-Mobile? A quick search of this forum only found complaints about seeing a "Wierd VoLTE icon" when they rooted their J327T phone. Which to me actually seems hopeful. The update guides I've seen all warn that firmware must be loaded only into the exact model number called out. Not sure if that means just "J327" or for example "J327x"
My question is: can you change an Unlocked J327A (supporting AT&T features) to a J327T (supporting T-Mobile features) by software tools? Or are there hardware differences, or at least serial-number-based locks to prevent that?
Would like to do the same thing, any luck?

Which region P20 Pro for the US

Like the title says, which region would work best with US carriers? (AT&T)
I currently have a (C605) version and am wondering if a different region would be better for US. Especially for things like VOLTE and wifi calling.
I had the Latin American CL29 and rebranded to the European CL29 (432). My only reason for doing that is earlier releases of updates. I have AT&T and outside of updating I have had no issues with either of those two versions.
However, I do not have a VOLTE option in my network settings, despite having the latest update.
Is it the GPU Boost update?

I have the C636 version (Asia Pacific) and VoLTE option shows up and works on T-Mobile. I also have the firmware ending in .150 and this has the GPU turbo update.

AT&T is your issue not the phone. They don't allow BYOD situations. Had it with several phones from One Plus to Huawei. T-Mobile allows BYOD and I've had no issues with VoLTE and Wifi calling.

Note 10+ US Unlocked Model - Volte Question

Does anyone know how the Note 10+ Unlocked model in the US handles Volte for the various carriers? Usually you have to have a carrier specific CSC with that carrier's Volte present on the phone or Volte does not work.
Do the US Note 10+ Unlocked models come with all the US carrier CSC present and Volte?

Pretty much comes with multiple CSC of US carriers. I am on T-Mobile and WiFi Calling and VoLTE work
I'm on Straight Talk (using a Verizon SIM) and the Voltaren fine. Note 10
Volte on Verizon works fine. Although I don't see an HD when on a call, the voice calls sound extremely clear which may mean that HD calling is working. You can do data and voice at the same time also. The only thing missing on Verizon is video calling

No VoLTE support

I have installed Pixel Experience 13 Unofficial version in my A51. In the network types there are only 2 options like LTE and 3G.
The issue is, I live in India and I am using Jio sim card. Which probably doesn't work without VoLTE. I am not able to call/sms anyone nor I can receive anything. Internet works fine. But no calls/sms. Is there work around for this? Is there any other OS which probably supports VoLTE?
The phone has to support VoLTE , it is hardware/modem issue (if i am not mistaken)
so no software can fix that problem.
Phone had to support VoLTE type of a network when it was released.
Or find a provider that still supports just 3g/LTE without VoLTE
(i think they should still exist in india)
AOSP ROMs like Pixel Experience or LineageOS don't have VoLTE support on Samsung phones because of how Samsung implements it on their phones.
This has been the case for years and there doesn't seem to be any fix in sight.
