I have a rooted BLN-L24 with 4.1 firmware. I looked for stock 5.1 firmware for L24 that can be flashed by TWRP but I don't think it is here. Is there anyway I can update? I would appreciate your help!
I think as of now, it's only available via OTA. So, if I were you, I'd unroot, reflash the stock recovery, and then relock the bootloader to update successfully. It's a pain, but it will work.

Hi, i have a xt1033 asian retail, i converted it to brasilian 4.4.4 and then i flashed soak 5.0 brasilian, how can i go back to stock 4.4.4, and wait normally for the OTA? My bootloader is unlocked, can i flash any 5.0 rom when i install a custom recovery and root? The thing i would like to know, am i stucked now on this brasilian 5.0 soak or not? Because i would like to change the rom in the future.
If i wait for factory stock image 5.0.2 will i be able just to flash it via fastboot, and have then again a full stock rom? I am confused :/
anybody?
I recently soft bricked my phone (Moto G 2013 falcon) downgrading it from Cyanogen 12 to stock 4.4.4 (Argentina), so after many tries I ended up booting in stock 4.4.4 Europe retail (210.12.40.falcon_umts.EURetail.en.EU).
I try to upgrade that to 5.0, but the OTA update fails in the middle of the installation. Then I tried to download the OTA file manually and install it via stock recovery, but it fails too.
Is there any other way? Or do I have to convert it to 4.4.4 stock Brazilian or some other variation with more OTA files available?
Thanks in advance,
Are you unrooted, running stock recovery, and stock ROM?
Yes: unrooted, stock recovery, stock ROM. My bootloader is unlocked though, so I can easily root the phone or change the recovery.
I already tried with a (supposed) official 5.0 OTA for Europe using stock recovery, but it didn't work ("update failed" or so).
I have the Telus xt1032 8GB. Not sure if it runs or you need the same Telus firmware but I was able to flash back to stock 4.4.4, update Motorola apps, and take the OTA update via wifi. I did this three times on my xt1032 in the past 2 weeks without any problems.
If i downgrade my Xt1541 which has marshmallow stock rom on it , without flashing bootloader.img or gpt.bin , would that all go to plan ?
Also, if I accepted an ota update when on lollipop, would it hard brick my phone, and if it did , would there be a recovery method?
Because if I accepted an upgrade back to marshmallow via ota, surely it would not break the bootloader because it is upgrading to the one which is already there? correct me if I am wrong.
Thank you for any advice with this
I downgraded mine without flashing those two files and it worked perfectly and I see no reason why an OTA wouldn't work. You'll have to unlock your bootloader to downgrade though.
Motorola has released new OTA update of 371.4 MB in India.
I read that since I am a rooted user I must not try to flash this update.
I would like the help from xda to install these updates. Should I install stock firmware 6.0.1 first?
Two ways to do it
1. Flash stock ROM 6.0from factory firmware link. Allow ota to download and phone should upgrade to 6.0.1
2. Flash the 6.0.1 stock ROM which is made available in factory firmware link. -Update: 6.0.1 is already the updated system with the new ota of 371mb.
Option 2 is more convenient.
While upgrading to mm 6.0 via ota, on my rooted phone I had tried flashing the stock recovery and cleaning the root. but it did not help and I landed with a soft bootloop. The ota checks for the original fingerprint of the stock system which is why you need to be on stock firmware for the ota update method.
You need stock recovery and stock firmware.

Hi,
I´m on 6.0 rooted with TWRP and would like to update to Nougat without setting up my phone from scratch.
Does this work?:
Flash Stock Bootloader. (Does it have to be the exact same one from the Stock rom version i have?)
Unroot with Supersu
Receive Ota Updates?
Or how would you do it?
Thanks in advance

Hi mate
I am assuming you have a root stock firmware....
Check this thread , it explains how to update stock firmware without losing anything..... BUT you will have to install TWRP and root afterwards
