This rom improves the battery?
I have a Blu Studio Selfie with the stock rom and the battery is horrible, and what is the best rom to save battery for you?
Bug
I have a problem with the rom, when i´m in youtube and i put the video quality to 480p the image freeze but the audio it´s still working.
P.D: sorry my bad English.
I saw that the Studio Selfie uses the MT6580 chipset, which has a kernel version of 3.10. I'm looking to port CM to my Energy X 2 with the same chipset and kernel version, however since the kernel version is 3.10, there is no device tree, however that's required for porting CM. How did you get around this? Also, where did you get the vendor tree? Thanks
I'm having some problems with this ROM,The camera doesn't allow to choose another storage than internal memory. After I make a phone call, I press back button and it stills in the dial screen.
Other issues i've found is when i connect to another device by using bluetooth, my own one asks me for register as a trustable device and asks me for the pattern to do this, i draw the pattern and i'm asked for it again, again, again,... adn so on

I have a BLU Studio Selfie 2 with Android 6.0 preinstalled. I cannot find ANY method of unlocking the bootloader. I've tried quite literally every method I can find on XDA and the web, and I cannot get it to root. Even though I select the "allow unlocking bootloader" option in Developer Options, when I power on into the boot menu it won't let me use Volume Up to select bootloader mode ... so I can't flash a custom ROM, and I can't backup the stock ROM. I also read on the web that Android 6.0 has more strict methods for preventing root access, so maybe I should downgrade to an earlier Android version first?
Regardless, there is very little I've found through weeks of searching that applies directly to this model phone, and nothing has been successful [yet] in rooting it. Can you point me to a method that might work?

Use ADB and type adb reboot bootloader
That will get you into the bootloader and then you type fastboot OEM unlock. I ported this ROM to my Blu energy x 2 and I didn't need to unlock the bootloader.

When I type "fast OEM unlock", the device says to press the Volume Up key to confirm... but that's part of the problem, this phone won't let me press the Volume Up button, only Volume Down which exits and reboots normally.
I also asked the question about possibly downgrading to an earlier version of Android first, then trying to root. This is based on a disturbing statement found in the post https://www.xda-developers.com/a-look-at-marshmallow-root-verity-complications/ :
"If you want root today, on Android Marshmallow (6.0), you’re going to need to use a modified boot image. While it remains to be seen if this remains true indefinitely, it looks likely to be the case for some time – SELinux changes make it much harder to get root access without modifying the boot image. And as modifying the boot image requires an unlocked bootloader, this could put an end to root (and Xposed and other root features) on devices which are shipped with bootloaders that can’t be unlocked by end users. "
Thoughts?
@uptwolait ...... first install proper adb drivers on your pc as well as mobistel cynus f4 driver .... then turn on oem unlocking from developer options ..... now reboot to bootloader "adb reboot bootloader" ....remember you should run cmd prompt from the folder where adb files are present ..... then when bootloader opens type "fastboot oem unlock " ... now press both vol up and vol down ...... after like 10-15 sec type "fastboot reboot" now let the device wipe itself and reboot ...... finally flash twrp/cwm using fastboot after then phone starts up and going to bootloader option .... command is "fastboot flash recovery (your recovery name.img) .... then fastboot reboot ..... and finally reboot to twrp and flash super su root zip .... thats it

I've been having the same issues. There's nothing online about the phones nor the problem. My guess is BLU bugs the bootloader to prevent unlocking. Nothing we can do I guess
Man .... we can even unlock bootloader of latest phones like pixel , one plus 3T .... then what the heck are these mediatek phones .. .. they have the lowest security .... the process you tried to do may be wrong thats why bootloader is not unlocked ... ...... i guess i will make a video for step by step tutorial to unlock bootloader for blu devices ...... most of people are asking me for that ... wait for 1-2 days
I just thought of something. With smartphone flash tool, you can flash a custom recovery. From there, just flash SuperSU ZIP file and you should be rooted. It doesn't need an unlocked bootloader to flash the recovery.

But I've seen guide after guide. The phone is just physically incapable of being unlocked at the point when you click volume up.
If you use Smartphone Flash tool to flash the custom recovery, and then use your phone's original boot.img in the ROM, you don't need to unlock your Bootloader. For root just flash the SuperSU ZIP and it will generate a rooted boot image and flash it. All that shouldn't need an unlocked bootloader if I'm correct.

OK, so I just emailed BLU about it, and this is what they said:
"We don't support unlocking of the bootloader or tampering of software. Therefore, we will not be able to provide you with any information. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused".
So, it basically sounds like they did do something.
Also, this reminded me of another BLU phone owner who could not even get his device to show up in fastboot devices, even after installing the proper drivers.

@Praw zoll
Hi,
as I did not find an English guide for rooting a BQ Aquaris M10 tablet and had some problems when trying to root my tablet, I want to post an guide how to root this tablet.
First of all:
- This guide is just from my experience and is not thoroughly tested. It's on your own if you risk bricking your device.
- If you get stuck in the process, in nearly all cases you can revert to stock with the MTK flash tool (can be found on mibqyyo.com) and the images provided by BQ on their website.
- I could not unlock the bootloader with the 1.X-Images (Lollipop), as the VolumeUp-Button didn't work in fastboot-mode and you need this button to confirm the unlock.
- Booting into recovery from start with VolumeUp and Power-Button. This doesn't work with the 1.X-images, too.
- This guide is not intended for users without experience in unlocking/rooting a device. If you don't know how to use adb, fastboot, recovery and things like that, don't try it!
- You will loose all your data during this process!!
Guide:
Modify boot.img, flash new firmware
SuperSU in systemless mode doesn't work on stock image, as the SuperSU installer can't extract boot.img. You have to repack boot.img.
I tried a SuperSU installer without systemless-mode, but device didn't even boot anymore afterwards.
This guide is derived from a Spanish tutorial on the HTCmania-forum ("Root M10 HD Marshmallow") by yquepongo. Thanks to him!
Get a firmware for your device from the BQ-website (should be Marshmallow, see above) and unzip it to a directory.
Extract the boot-verified.img in the firmware directory with a bootimg-extractor. There are various tools available.
I used bootimg.exe, because this was explained in the mentioned thread and I even used it with wine on Linux and it went well.
Search for cpiolist.txt in your extracted boot-verified.img and delete the first two lines:
mode:mtk
mtk_header_name:ROOTFS
Repack boot-verified.img and put it back in the firmware directory.
Flash the modified firmware with the MTK flash tool according to the tutorial on .mibqyyo.com (Title "Hard Reset for the smartphone range Aquaris and Aquaris E"). In short: Disconnect device, start Tool, load scatter file from firmware directory, choose firmware upgrade, start download, connect the device in power off state, download will start automatically.
This will delete all your data and put the device back to factory rom (hard reset)!!!
If you don't want to flash the complete firmware, you can flash only the boot-verified.img with "Download only" in the flash tool. I didn't try this and don't know if this is working.
Start your device, don't activate any security settings to prevent encryption of data partition.
Unlock bootloader, flash TWRP, install SuperSU
Enable developer settings on device and activate "OEM unlock" in developer settings.
Reboot into fastboot (adb reboot bootloader) and unlock bootloader (fastboot oem-unlock).
This will delete all your data!!! Reboot your system afterwards to make sure everything is still ok.
Do not activate any security settings and make sure your data partition is not encrypted!
The existing TWRP-image can't handle an encrypted data partition, you will end in a boot loop and have to start the whole process again!
Double check, your data partition isn't encrypted. (Settings - Security)
Reboot into fastboot (adb reboot bootloader) and flash the TWRP-image from the TWRP-site (fastboot flash recovery twrpxxx.img)
After reboot TWRP should start.
If you have checked that everything is ok (I would recommend a reboot into normal mode), you can install SuperSU with the standard-installer-zip in TWRP.
If you didn't modify your boot.img, the installer will give a warning that it cannot extract boot.img and you will not find any SuperSU on your system.
If you get stuck in bootloop afterwards you can start anew and try it with another image flashed with MTK flash tool. (Firmware 2.2.0 from December 2016 for freezerhd worked in my case)
Maybe some steps could be shortened, but I haven't tried it.

Sorry, but I can't help you there, as the M8 seems to be too different to the M10: I didn't have to unlock the boot.img, it was easy to unpack.
hi zrfl,
thanks for your reply. i contacted the developer osmOsis from the android image kitchen.
he will implement the bq specials in his tools.
more in the AIK thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2073775&page=108
this is the only way to root this device !!
thanks a lot ...
Thanks for this tutorial.
I've followed all the step, I'm able to flash the new recovery from the TWRP website but then I do a
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
but the device reboot normally, just with a warning message during boot saying something like "This device is unlock and can't be trusted, it will boot in 5 seconds".
So I'm unable to access TWRP recovery, I guess when the device reboot it override the recovery partition because if I do a
Code:
adb reboot recovery
I end up in the Android recovery not TWRP.
Any idea ?
Thanks

Sorry, I have done this a long time ago and don't know what could be wrong:
You have the correct message, so unlock was successfull
You try to reboot in fastboot, so you flashed TWRP correctly in fastboot-mode
And I don't have the device at hand to try it myself. But I do have a few suggestions, what you could try:
Don't try to shorten procedure with unlock and flashing of TWRP at once. I'm not sure, but I think I had problems when I tried this. So do a normal reboot after unlock, before booting again into fastboot and flashing TWRP. (Now you have done this already )
I don't remember the proper boot command after flashing of TWRP. But
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
doesn't make sense: You are already in bootloader.
Is there a boot-option in the bootloader where you could choose recovery?
Otherwise better power off and use the key-combination for booting into recovery: VolumeUp+Power.
I think, you have to repeat the procedure, as recovery seems to be overwritten: Boot into fastboot, flash TWRP, reboot into recovery. And avoid normal booting before first boot into TWRP!
Did you use the newest TWRP 3.1.0 from March 8th? I haven't tried this yet, so there could be the problem. You could try the previous one: 3.0.2 from last year.
Thanks, I succeed with the combo key (power + vol up) directly after the reboot process
Perfect it's working great now !
I did exactly what you wrote but SuperSU won't install because it cannot extract the ramdisk...
Hi @zrfl
Thanks for your posting!
I did as you suggested and successfully unlocked bootloader and installed TWRP 3.1.1. Your hint to modify the boot-verified was extremely helpful, as I wouldn't be able to unlock the bootloader otherwise.
However, I did not manage to install super su. And boy, I tried many different versions od regular/system/systemless supersu, each flashed according to the respective how-to.
I ended up either in a bootloop, or get stuck on the Android logo at boot.
Flashing goes well until this step:
"Decompressing ramdisk
--- Failure, aborting"
I checked ramdisk compression of boot with Carliv image Kitchen and it tells me that it already is set to "gz" and not another compression TWRP can't handle.
Please help me on how to flash SuperSu.
Thanks and best
Tom
There is something wrong: TWRP does not need a modified boot.img.
Maybe newer ROM-versions are different.
Solution for geting root on BQ M10 FHD on stock rom 2.6.2: Start with a fresh system and install magisk beta (not stable), reboot and root is granted!
tanks a lot to @scafroglia93!
Are there any Custom ROM's
For this Tablet like CM/LineageOS AOSP etc?
Googling reveals nothing and Considering all the kernel mods like hardcore and Ubuntu touch I find it hard to believe that nobody has built one of the later.
I've been searching for custom ROMs too. Apparently, there are none available at present. However, I'd highly appreciate lineage rom.
In the original Mi Mix Forum we had a one-in-all thread for all new users, so I try to continue it here.
I will try to mention all people from who I take sources from. If I forgot anyone, please don't hesitate to tell me.
If you have change requests or useful additions, I will try to update the original posts ASAP.

The variants sold outside of China come with the Global ROM including Google Apps.
For devices that have the Official Chinese ROM, it's only possible to flash the Official Global ROM after you unlock your device due to region mismatch.
OTA or recovery zips can be flashed in the official MIUI updater app if it matches your region) or if you're unlocked, you can flash through TWRP whatever you want.
Fastboot ROM can be flashed by using fastboot or the XiaoMi Flash Tool.
ROMs:
Recovery can be flashed through the Updater app on your phone (if locked, china can only flash china, global can only flash global) or better through TWRP Recovery (if unlocked, can of course flash any region over any).
Fastboot can be flashed by connecting your phone through USB and use XiaoMi Flash Tool or fastboot.
Custom ROMs can be flashed by TWRP (if unlocked)

TWRP by xiaomi.eu and miuiItalia
The first versions are from xiaomi.eu and miuiItalia and aren't able to read encrypted internal storage. If you want to flash something with this TWRP you need to format your internal storage then copy the file over in MTP mode and flash it. So you loose your storage all the time. No problem when you want to cleanly flash new ROMs, but annoying when you just flash magisk, mods and other things.
Download TWRP polaris by xiaomi.eu
Download TWRP by miuiItalia
TWRP by notsyncing
notsyncing's version is able to work with encrypted storage. You need to enter your pin or draw your lock pattern in order to work. Switching between different ROMs like Chinese/Global/Custom you most probably still need to format your /data, but when you stay on the same ROM no need to wipe or format.

Guide: Install Google Apps & Contact Sync on Chinese ROMs
Chinese ROMs don't contain Google Apps. Especially if you didn't unlock your phone you probably want to install Google Apps and Framework:
Download the Oreo Google Apps package: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=818222786056028173 and extract it on your phone
Install every APK from 1-6 without opening them after installation!
Install 8.0-Oreo.com.google.android.gsf_8.0.0-4147944-26_minAPI26.apk
Don't inistall the remaining two APKs
Download and install the updated contacts sync 8.1.0 APK: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-contacts-sync/google-contacts-sync-8-1-0-release/google-contacts-sync-8-1-0-2-android-apk-download/
Go into Settings > Installed apps and find all Google Apps in the list. Select each of them and turn on Autostart Permission. Additionally go into Permissions and enable all permissions in there. Again: Do this for all Apps you've just installed or that have the name Google or Contacts or Calendar in it.
Reboot your phone
Login to your google account, by opening Settings > Sync > Add Account > Google

After you got your SMS confirmation code, enter it in the unlocker application on your computer and connect your phone via USB
Try to unlock your phone.
Sometimes Xiaomi will now force you to wait for up to 360 hours until you can try again to unlock. This is annoying, but you have to wait. Otherwise your account may be blocked.
Guide: Flash any Treble ROM
Download any Treble ROM:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-development
https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble
Requirements:
Unlocked bootloader
Be on Global or Chinese official stable ROM, flash it through XiaoMiFlasher and download the fastboot ROM from mi.com if necessary
Minimal ADB & Fastboot installed on your Windows computer
Download the ARM64 NANO OpenGApps for the exact Android version your Treble ROM uses: https://opengapps.org/
Optional: Download Magisk 16.4 and Magisk Uninstaller
Perform a factory reset on your device. You have two options here:
Open the settings app on your phone and look for the factory reset option.
Boot your phone into fastboot
With your device connected to your PC start the Minimal ADB & Fastboot console
Enter a command in the following format:
Code:
fastboot flash system
having a space at the end, so it's fastboot flash system(SPACE) and drag and drop your Treble img file with your mouse from an Explorer window into the cmd console
Example:
Code:
fastboot flash system C:\Users\Superman\Desktop\Mix2S\system-arm64-aonly-gapps-su.img
Push enter, and allow the image to flash, it could take a few minutes.
Once it has completed, reboot your device into fastboot then (WARNING: THIS WIPES EVERYTHING) enter
Code:
fastboot -w
from your computers command prompt window.
Reboot
Optional:
You can flash TWRP and then flash GApps and or Magisk if you want. The DM-Verity check may prevent the phone from booting, so by flashing Magisk DM-Verity check should be disabled and your phone should boot.

Thanks for your effort. About the quoted part i don't think it will work by following this steps. People in this topic tried without success: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-mi-mix-2s/how-to/global-stable-rom-link-t3786717

Flash Global from first post and WITHOUT rebooting flash region fix from carburano's guide

I think, he never test his guide himself... the rom is the same as in the other link here from italian guy and it is not an fastboot rom. So i wonder, how he flash this file with miui-flash... so i think, he never had flash this.
I've ordered the 8GB-256GB model and it has the Chinese ROM, can I flash the Global ROM regardless of bootloader status etc.
Well this time xiaomi forced me to wait for 360 hours before i can unlock, even though my mi account has unlock permissions since 2016... So i can't yet validate anything.
Thanks for your input. I'll adapt the guide

Right now you can't flash with locked bootloader. Maybe it will be possible when Xiaomi releases a fastboot rom. According some users this rom release will be in the next few days.

I suggest you to unlock it too. After ROM installation you can lock it again. It seems it will not be possible to flash with a locked bootloader even for an Official Rom.

This is a translation and rework of youyim2's executable. I've rewritten some of the batch file to make things more streamlined, as well as translated the whole thing into English. I am not the device maintainer. If you have questions, I'll help as best I can. This is only for getting TWRP, Magisk, and Xposed. You should be able to flash Open GAPPs if needed with no issue once you've got TWRP installed.
Download the zip file. Extract the contents. Run the *.bat file. Follow the instructions.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Unlock the bootloader first.
2) Unlock fastboot flashing.
3) Flash TWRP.
4) Reboot into recovery (TWRP)
5) Flash the version of Magisk that is included.
6) Reboot into the system
7) Install the included APK for Magisk. Official Magisk does not support this device.
8) If you want Xposed, reboot to recovery, and flash the included EdXposed zip and the riru-core zip.
9) Reboot back to the system
10) Install the included EdXposed apk
TWRP:
To get TWRP into English (or your language of choice), boot to TWRP recovery. When it shows up, slide the bar to the right to unlock it. After that, tap the button second from the bottom on the right column. This takes you to the Settings menu. In here, tap the globe icon in the top right tab. Choose your language from here.
NOTES:
1) The flashing unlock needs to be run EVERY TIME you reboot into bootloader, as it locks the flash mode every reboot. This type of unlock does not wipe data.
2) DO NOT WIPE /SYSTEM IN TWRP. It will brick your phone.

Hello friends. I have a problem and I can not find the solution .. in the magisk manager some modules are not shown when looking for them, like pix3lify, google framework, camera2api y more. The first time I rooted my nubia and installed magisk manager, the modules were shown and I could install them and they worked, but then I gave a full reset to red mars and since then I have not seen the modules never again. I have already reset the nubia more than 10 times, changed the language, installed other magisk manager apk, and nothing.
this magisk manager does not let me install modules from github and if I download and install a thirdparty zip from the web, magisk installs it but the module does not apply or is not installed for some reason.
Is the same in twrp:crying:
I do not ask for support, but if someone knows how to solve it or gives me any suggestions? please

One thing that I have found rather disappointing with all of the "guides" (that can only be loosely called such) is that nobody has explicitly mentioned HOW you have to unlock the bootloader on Nubia devices without downloading something.
In fastboot mode, after toggling Bootloader Unlock in developer settings, one must type:
fastboot oem nubia_unlock NUBIA_NX619J
THEN you can do: fastboot flashing unlock
Flashing a boot image may require you to redo the bootloader flashing unlock to bypass the "This device is corrupt" screen.
Packed up Windows executables aren't exactly helpful for those of us using Linux or MacOS based systems. Even then, the Red Magic Mars packaged bat files/tools didn't install correct drivers for me on Win10. Could never get the device recognized within Fastboot on my Win10 Intel desktop after updating and reinstalling drivers.
There is also another quirk with the Nubia devices that I ran into that I have seen mentioned only once on another device's forum.
If you're running a Ryzen/AMD based system, you may have to issue the fastboot commands on an Intel based system instead.
Why? Beats me. It makes no sense, but after hours of pulling my hair out, I happened to come across a post suggesting it and gave it try.
Typing in the same commands with fastboot in the same OS (xUbuntu 20.04) with the same exact versions of every tool used... failed on my Ryzen desktop but worked fine on my Intel laptop. Had I known, it would have saved me several hours of swapping cables and reflashing software.
Also, for those (like me) who don't exactly like blindly trusting software found on forums.

Pull boot.img from the update archive and use another device with Magisk installed to repackage the boot image for the Mars to flash yourself.
fastboot flash boot modified_boot_image.img
And done.
Due to the risk of bricking the Red Magic Mars within TWRP, I'd rather avoid using it entirely... so I only flashed a boot.img modified with Magisk instead.
One nice thing of note about the Red Magic Mars. It has an actual recovery partition and doesn't use the clusterfluck that is the A/B partition scheme.

But I still have one question. How does the device behave when the official updates from Gigaset are installed via OTA? The GS4 reports it would have security updates. Can I install them without losing root privileges? Does anyone already have experience? Thanks in advance!

I have now simply installed the June 2021 update. The good news: It worked. The slightly less good news is that you have to flash the images again. But flashing also works with the latest version and the update check tells that there are no new updates. So it seems to work.

Here is, what I did: (on your own risk)
As far as i can remember, i did not have any issues.
Step 1: Unlock your device
1. Enable Developer Options: Tap 10x on Build-Number (Setttings -> About the phone -> Build-Number)
2. Enable Bootloader Unlocking -> activate OEM-Unlock option (Settings -> System -> (More) -> Developer-Options)
3. Enable ADB Access -> Enable USB-Debugging / ADB (Settings -> System -> (More) -> Developer-Options)
4. (Set USB-Settings (Message-Center) from "No tx" to "PTP")
5. Connect phone to usb port, grant permissions on phone and check connection with `adb devices`
6. Boot to bootloader: `adb reboot bootloader`
7. Unlock Bootloader: `fastboot flashing unlock`
Step 2: Download GSI
1. Reboot your phone and install Treble Info App
(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tk.hack5.treblecheck&hl=en&gl=US)
GS4 should support AB-Partitions
2. Download GSI: https://sourceforge.net/projects/andyyan-gsi/files/
For GS4: treble_arm64_bv*
Step 3: Install GSI
1. Boot to recovery: `adb reboot recovery` or Volume Down + Power
2. Wipe data
