So I made a big mistake and set my device back to the stock Verizon image last night and re-locked the bootloader (phone was to be sent back for warranty). I forgot to opt out of the Android Beta program and ended up letting it update and now I'm stuck in a bootloop. I'm assuming I'm SOL?
Edit: Everything is okay now I believe, rebooted to recovery and did a factory reset.

I've been messing around with a few ROMs lately trying to decide what I want to do with my phone. I had just given AOKP a try and decided I wanted to switch over to CyanogenMod for a bit and switch from CWM to TWRP for my recovery.
I swapped recoveries, rebooted to make sure everything was working, then rebooted to TWRP to reset and install CyanogenMod. However, when I did this I kept getting a failed message when I tried to flash the .zip file. I wasn't sure what was happening so I was about to just switch back to CWM when I tried to reboot and got a message from TWRP that no OS was installed and after the reboot was stuck in a boot loop. I figured that the reset had simply wiped my OS and I would have to restore the factory image, annoying but not a big deal. I restored the factory image and rebooted. Setup started and I got to the service activation part. After about 5 minutes it gave me a message saying that it couldn't connect and I could either skip or try again. I hit try again and it just immediately gave me the same message. I skipped it then and finished the setup. After about 30 minutes of having a "signal" but no service, I decided I'd try and re-install the factory image and try again. Same thing happened.
I'm not sure if it's just a problem with my service but I don't think it is and it's a little too late to contact Sprint so I thought I would as here first.
I'd go back to stock first and see if it's the same issue. If not, flash another custom ROM. If it's still an issue, try another SIM. If it's STILL an issue, and you can get the phone back to 100% stock, locked and tamper flag reset you could try and RMA it
So two days ago my phone started to act up, first it rebooted while I was in the Play Store for no reason then when it rebooted it kept saying "Lockscreen has stopped working" and wouldn't stop doing that. I tried pulling up a backup I made on TWRP (Rooted) but it just did the same thing and wouldn't let me open the settings app when I had the chance. Then I did a Factory Reset but it just made things worse, it booted it up but when I had to choose a language it rebooted and kept doing it. After that I did a full wipe and went I tried to reboot it said I had no OS and now I'm stuck with just TWRP. And I have just found out earlier today that my bootloader is locked. So what could I possibly do? Thank you in advance for those who are able to help.

Yes I have and It does not do anything, I tried unlocking it manually and with a toolkit but no results. Also I have pushed CM11s to the phone and tried to flash it but no luck.

I was stuck in the same situation, unlocking via fastboot just rebooted and did nothing, however I managed to unlock the bootloader by flashing this in recovery...

- A few days ago my phone freezes while I am using it, and its stuck on the google screen. at this point, it's on 5.0.1 unrooted, unlocked bootloader.
- I try going into recovery and wiping cache and doing factory reset. I keep getting errors but eventually the wipes work. Still doesn't boot though. So I do this a few times. I got it to boot twice but both times it froze within 5 mins and back to the same thing.
- I fastboot 5.0.1 factory image, goes through. but still no dice - stuck on google boot screen.
- I research and find out about the infamous power button problem. it doesn't seem like thats the issue with mine because the buttons seem to work fine. whatever, i take it to a local repair shop (phone is out of warranty) and the next day they inform me that there is no physical issue and that their software reset worked. they used the LG factory firmware way of resetting the device.
- Got the device back, used it for a while. It was fine for the time being but it was on 4.4.3 and I got the 4.4.4 update. I go and unlock bootloader, flash 5.0.1 factory image and push TWRP+root.
- Doesn't boot again, stuck on google logo
- I tried a whole bunch of stuff and nothing worked. I ended up with flashing 4.4.3 factory image in fastboot and relocking the bootloader so I could take it back to the shop the next day. At this point the phone wasn't even turning on.
- The next day (today), I tried turning it on, nothing. I put it in the charger for a while, then turned it on.... and it booted! used it for a while, it's fine.
- Did 4.4.4 system update, it's fine.
- Unlocked bootloader, it's fine.
- Tried to flash 5.0.1 factory image and again same issue - stuck on google screen.
- Been dicking around the last few hours trying to fix it ended with flashing 4.4.3 again but same issue, I then put the phone into download mode and connect to the computer but I got a green screen something about DemiGod Watchdog HW reset. I did the reset.
- Phone booted up again! Did the 4.4.4 system update and then it started freezing and rebooting withing few seconds of use. Now it's back to being stuck on google screen.
- I am obvious gonna bring it back to the shop now but any idea as to what is happening here?

1.I presume the "DemiGod Watchdog HW reset" green screen came up after you gave the phone for HW servicing? If so then they could have knocked around the parts a bit to cause a hardware issue(not sure what causes it)
2.Check the MD5 of the 5.0.1 factory image.
3.Instead of factory image use the OTA zip file and flash in stock recovery.
So I used the LG tool myself to flash the firmware (4.4.3 is the only one available) and it worked fine. Updated to 4.4.4. Fine.
I then adb sideload the 4.4.4 - 5.0.1, and stuck on google logo again .................im pulling my hair out this is so weird.

1) yes this was after.
2)i tried adb sideload.. ill try that good idea.
can't flash ota.zip in recovery. only adb and that didn't work.
think i'm just gonna hang on to 4.4.4 then for now. tried everything.
Just an update. I was running 4.4.4 just fine but the phone froze and went back to the Google screen again.
bump
Might as well rma
Ok, so I think I may have finally killed one of my S2 Skyrockets.
I attempted to use the factory reset function from within Candy 5.1.1. However, on reboot the phone entered TWRP, or rather tried. Instead of booting into the recovery, it just kept restarting over and over again. I couldn't get it to boot into the OS or TWRP.
Thinking I had just soft-bricked it, I went into ODIN mode and uploaded a full restore image. Now I don't get stuck in a TWRP bootloop, I am stuck in a different bootloot. I see "Rethink Possible" go black, wait a few seconds, then it restarts again. I have pulled the battery out several times, attempted to boot into recovery (where I get the original TWRP bootloop) etc.
Is there any way to recover this device, or am I hosed?
[UPDATE]
Ok, this was one of the scarier things I've run into, but I recovered the phone. I used the sammobile version of the UCMC1 image (which blows away everything). This didn't reboot, it just hung. However, I was able to get into 3e (the stock recovery) and do a factory reset. THAT got me past the block. I'm now in the process of putting TWRP back on along with Candy.
Apparently you REALLY don't want to screw with the factory reset function...
My stock Nexus 5 hardlocked today while attempting to connect to a wifi network. Upon restart, the boot-up animation took longer than usual, then displayed the 'Optimizing Apps' screen (which is not typical). It completed optimization on 5 apps, claimed to be starting Android, and then reset back to the boot-up animation, continuing the same cycle.
Unsuccessfully tried to boot into safe mode, although I can access Recovery Mode. Wiping system cache did not help. Installed ADB/Fastboot and sideloaded the original OTA without any improvement.
At this point, I'm hoping for either another path to get the device to boot or a way to extract some critical data (SMS, docs, etc.) off the device before doing a factory reset.
If the bootloader is unlocked, you could try flashing TWRP, booting into TWRP, and pulling off the data.

Sadly no, fully stock phone.
Gave up and pulled the trigger on factory reset. We'll see if it helps.
On the plus side, this incident has motivated me to unlock and root my phone, hopefully expanding my options for the next time this happens.
Yup, an unlocked bootloader is definitely a plus in these situations.
I always unlock the bootloader unless it voids the warranty on the phone. Once the warranty is over, I unlock it if possible.
Factory reset seemed to work. Now unlocked and rooted!
