WarrantytimeService Notification wont go away - Sony Xperia XZ Premium Questions & Answers

Hi, there are now two of us in the same building with XZ Premiums which have a WarrantytimeService Notification permanently stuck on the notification bar.
I have noticed this seems to only happen when connecting the company work profile / google apps email account.
does anyone know how to get rid of this? what this is? or why its here?
This only happened after the Android 8 Orea update.

We are both running stock android without even a homescreen launcher.
My phone is a few months old, my friend just got his 2 weeks ago brand new at BestBuy.

I got the same issue. Brand new phone. No mods.

Possibly turn off work profile in system ui tuner? Only an educated guess, I don't havd this notification.
Edit - Just watched the video and you have already tried this solution. Accept my apology.

I had the same problem when running Island, which uses the work profile to mimic a second user.
I just disabled WarrantytimeService in Island.
I'm not sure how you would do that without it though.

Android Market - no refund

Hi guys,
i often buy apps in the android market, and often i discover that i doesn`t like a specific app ive bought.
It was always possible on my desire to go to the downloads in the market within 24h, and just press uninstall & refund at the app i dont like.
Now ive bougt two apps with my new galaxy S. I then wanted to uninstall a just bought app and get the money back but hey ... there where the "uninstall and refund" button should be, theres just a "uninstall" button.
Tried things like reebooting my device, use another internet connection, reinstalling the apps, resetting my device and so on, but i stell don`t get the refund option back.
Does anyone have a hint for me? Thanks
I'd noticed this as well, but when I uninstalled, it still refunded the money.

Strange, thats happening not for me. Ive uninstalled one over the system menu and one over the market, but now 24h are over and i havent got my money back
Still a problem for me, any hints?
I've had the same problem, but not with uninstalling, more or less the refund reaching error before the 24 hour period is up to request one. Always try and contact the developer if it happens. Though in my case, I never received response...though everyone is different.

Try factory resetting your watch, rebooting your phone, and checking again. Make sure that your galaxy app has updated and your phone is updated to the latest software os
I too can't find it in the app store.
Does anyone have a link to the most recent version's apk? It worked great for me with tizenmod 3.0

yup, did all that and then some. Still doesnt show in the samsung app store
I've reverted to this gear manager from July, seems to be working fine with notifications. I'd still like the most recent working apk, I think it was from october. obviously the new update broke something, so they're in the process of fixing it and releasing another update (at this point, gear manager is not in the galaxy app store)
Working with GN4, Tizenmod 3.0:

whoa, awesome! I'll probably run with the July build, for now anyway. seems fine. let me know how your device turns out.
I got the update yesterday. Post update gear manager crashes on clicking settings. So much for QA by samsung.
Embarrassing for them.

When the gear manager wants to update, bring up the task list and swipe it away. Launch it again and it won't ask to update.

just a heads up, I uninstalled it again today and it showed in the app store and I reinstalled it and its back to working like normal. There is now an emergency notification system built in to the watch and the settings are in that menu.
I've been having the same problems. Firsrgear manager was crashing when trying to open settings. Then it wouldn't open at all. I uninstalled and reinstalled complete with full wipe and still nothing. I used the other build that someone provided a few posts back and that works for now. But now I'm noticing that the other watch face apps I use (MW and WS) have disappeared from the app store. Had anyone else noticed this?
Side question. I'm new to the gear 2, just purchased last week. If I was to reroot the gear and find an MW apk, is there a way to side load the MW apk without using the phone but still have the phone recognize it?
Newer Version makes it worse.
How do you keep the old version running when the warning box forces you to install the newest crap version that won't allow the connection? Mine is a brand new Black Friday Gear 2 Neo that was working fine at first, then wouldn't hold the connection. Now it won't connect at all. December update? I downloaded an older version and got them to connect, had everything connecting with the old version and then my phone got commandeered and the newest version just installed.

I kept the old version from this post:

I keep cancelling the notification to upgrade and it's fine.

Thanks for the thought. I spent 3 hours a couple of nights ago with a nice Samsung tech who tried everything and then admitted he had had 4 calls that day from people whose Gear 2 would not connect to their phone after the latest (December 1, 2014) update. So in spite of all the updates, Samsung keeps making things worse instead of better.
The idea of swiping it off hasn't worked for me on my Note 3. But I have developed a workaround (not a solution) similar to the Ipse_Tase suggestion just above. I downloaded a really old version of Gear Manager at http://www.mediafire.com/download/yo17ta4qyrx50zj/GearManager1_2.apk , installed it, paired the device to the watch, and a connection was established. If you try to actually open the old Gear Manager after the pairing you will get a threatening warning screen saying they're going to delete everything from your Gear 2. But if you just leave the Gear Manager open and running with the warning screen on (don't click cancel or OK), use the phone normally with Gear Manager running, you can use the pre-installed Samsung programs on the watch. If I click cancel the Gear Manager closes and I have to start over. You can turn off automatic updates in the Galaxy App Store, but you'll still get the threatening message that they're going to hard reset your Gear 2. Just leave the message on the screen, let the program run, and use whatever other programs you want to on the phone.
Advantages: Your Gear is not a brick or just a time piece. You are paired. You're not hard resetting the device or trying to pair and connect all the time. You have access to Schedule, Notifications, Weather, Phone functions, S Voice, anything Samsung-based. You can control any app that can be adjusted from the watch itself.
Disadvantages: You can't change or adjust any app that would have to be done from the phone. Third party apps don't work because you can't use the Galaxy App store to get them or install/run them.
But it's better than nothing until Samsung gets its act together and provides an update that actually improves things rather than bricking your watch.
Has anyone found a way to actually use an older version of Gear Manager to download apps, manage the watch, etc. since all the recent updates seem to cut off the bluetooth connection?
Fluke Recovery
I decided to try to install the newest Samsung update to Gear Manager one more time--just to get a log to send to Samsung. Cleared Bluetooth pairing, uninstalled everything, reinstalled newest version. Failed several times, then finally paired, then finally ran through the bootup process and I am now connected and reinstalling programs, pictures, etc. on the Gear 2 Neo. We'll see how long this lasts. I'll keep you posted. For now, I'm illogically hopeful.

Bad news. Back to square 1. The newest (December 1) update to Gear Manager is no good for Gear 2 Neo with Galaxy Note 3. It will pair and you can get a brief bluetooth connection from the watch to the phone, and sometimes even from the phone to the watch. But it disappears after about 60 seconds. I'm sure it's the Gear Manager update. You can get certain apps to work during the brief periods of connection, but you can't do any settings from the phone, or use the Gear App store through the Gear Manager.
Does anyone know a way to uninstall or bypass the current new version of Gear Manager and install an older version alongside it? If I uninstall it I have learned from bad experience that it will hard reset the watch and I will lose all the time I have spent (3-4x in the last 3-4 days) setting it up. And worst of all, it will delete all Gear Apps that I have paid for from the phone, and I will have to reinstall them whenever I get a connection, and set them all up again.
Workaround
As I was suggesting last night, the best workaround I can come up with is still to install the older version (linked above) by APK, and then leave the warning message running. This way you can get a steady bluetooth connection for as long as you need it, and you can operate all Samsung apps and some 3rd party apps too. You can't, however, use the Gear Manager. You can only make changes/adjustments that can be done from the watch. But it's better than nothing until Samsung gets its act together.

Just FYI, I got the same setup as you and out of curiosity I DID update Gear Manager (now called Samsung Gear) to get a fully functional S Health (also updated)...seems to be working fine so far. Even Watch Styler still works.
Sounds like I should try it

Thanks for this tip. I think you mean that you went ahead and ran the update on the new version (December 1?). Or do you mean you ran an update on the older version I mention above? I'd like to try it to see if they've gotten rid of the bug. Are you saying everything seems to be working fine and your phone updated acceptably?

Also curious about how long you have been running the new update. It worked for me for about 12 hours--then would not connect after that....

Chrome Home Page changed

A few days ago out of the blue my homepage in Chrome was changed from https://www.google.com to http://portal.fly2tech.com/?channel=13#!/, without me doing so. So i ran a malware check with Malwarebytes and nothing, so better safe than sorry i start looking at apps, com.android.partnerbrowsercustomizations.example is showing as a normal app, whereas before it was a hidden system app. My phone is running stock MM 6.0.1 with Nov 2016 security patches. Not rooted with stock recovery. As a precaution I did a factory reset, and everything was fine then just about an hour ago it changed again, to the fly2tech portal as homepage, i went into apps and the com.android.partnerbrowsercustomizations.example program was showing again, i selected the three dot menu in upper right and clicked uninstall update, at which point i was prompted if i wanted to revert a system app to previous version, I clicked yes, and it disappeared from apps back to hidden system app. I uninstalled chrome just to make sure I was getting a clean copy and so far no more fly2tech portal. I have fired off a support request to Alcatel. I certainly hope they are not pushing this garbage out to customers. Or there is a vulnerability that needs fixed!!! A google search has indicated this has happened to one touch devices from all I have seen....
Anybody else having this problem??
oops, Clicking that link crashed a few apps on my Chrome. Weird how that could be an Alcatel thing.

It did it again, i rolled back system app, they have also pushed an update to their updater app, I have disabled automatic updating of system and system apps, hopefully it doesn't do it again. I called Alcatel support today, they didn't deny it was them, but they created a ticket and will get back with me.
So I just got a phone call from Alcatel support, they are investigating, the guy said they are in touch with the dept in charge of FOTA updates to see if its something they are pushing or if there is a vulnerability at play. At least they are interested enough to actually call me for details....
Interesting....
That's what is usurp my stock browser for over a month. I set homepage to google.com but it'salways changed autonomous to this portal thing. It's like some mw on Windows doing it's job. Weird.

At this point I'm convinced Alcatel is pushing the customization, via the system update, and not any malware.... But they have no right to choose my homepage. I have blocked automatic updates to system and system apps so I'm going to run a few days and see if that fixes it...
I'm not sure that is the case cause mine have been disabled long time before this happened...

Well the problem has not repeated itself, since disabling automatic system app updates. I'm still waiting to hear back from Alcatel USA. I find it hard to believe they would force a customization on a phone that is not subsidized, and I could be entirely wrong about it being them, regardless if it's them or not, I don't think I should be forced into using a portal that keeps resetting itself to the homepage. If it's Alcatel, they need to stop, if it's a security vulnerability I hope they patch it.
I doesn't make sense. I've checked my updates to found out that i freezed the update app in titanium backup prior this homepage changes.

Well i spoke too soon, it has happened again, i guess until I get an answer I'm, just going to have to keep uninstalling updates to com.android.partnerbrowsercustomizations.example. which really stinks. If it gets too bothersome I'll just get a new phone
Weird stuff. I'm looking towards note7r

So Alcatel wants to send me another Idol 3 and wants to analyze my current phone... I'm glad they are taking this seriously
I have just discovered the same thing on mine. I'm going to freeze com.android.partnerbrowsercustomizations.example in Titanium Backup, and see what happens.

I have to call back the rep from alcatel us support Tomorrow afternoon, they want to examine my phone, not sure how comfortable I am sending my phone back to them, I will remove as much sensitive info as I can, but don't want to strip it bare, I want them to get to the bottom of the problem, but not sure how invasive they will be, but if it helps to stop the problem I guess it's worth it.... They are going to send me another Idol 3 to use while they investigate.... I thought about just doing an OOB restore via Mobile Upgrade Q, but if it's a vulnerability eventually it will creep back up on me, I guess the best bet for all of us is to let Alcatel disect my phone and determine how they can plug it....
Alcatel can always pull your info anytime anywhere you have connection to internet, as google and app developers.. so don't trip you are already been examined.

It's not a "bug" it's intentional. I froze it with Titanium Backup then after a couple of days I removed it completely. No more homepage jacking.
Of course, you must be rooted to do this.

Ok so Alcatel is acknowledging the issue and has asked that I refrain from making any modifications to device, including restore via Mobile Upgrade Q. At this point im sure someone at TCL has dropped the bomb, but I'm getting the feeling even the US support team knows this isn't gonna fly. If they want to force it, then push your own browser, don't mess with Chrome, I like my settings just the way they are. I'm giving it another week tops, then I shall root and set up my phone where it can't be violated. I can see a phone company forcing customizations on subsidized phones, but not on an unlucked phone bought outright....
So looks like they stopped pushing it...
Should we reset the phone to factory then? can't they just send an update?

Andoid malware

I have a Xgody X200 MKT android manufactured by Zoppo. running 6.0 marshmellow. MT6735 chipset. My question is: I have 3 apps that keep downloading to my phone.
1. Chomes [logo looks similar to chrome.
2. Mail [ looks the same as Gmail but logo is blue and white instead of red and white.
3. Settings [ logo looks the the same]
I have manually uninstalled them only to have them reappear in 5 minutes or so.
So I decided to get Norton security. Norton detected them as malware and I have to uninstall them. My event log for having to remove them is insane! These apps started showing up 3 weeks ago. Any ideas as to how to permanently get rid of them? Thanks.

you will have to kill them first then remove them
if you can post the log to see what's happening exactly
the log only shows how many times these malwares have been uninstalled. Can you tell me how to kill them on this MKT device? Thanks for getting back to me.

can you check, by the way are you rooted ?
i cleared the log but as I said it just says uninstall over and over again. I am not rooted, in fact I posted in answers and questions was there anything current for rooting newer MTK devices. I've tried MTKDroid, Kingroot ect. but they didn't work. The ones I used are dated 2012-2013. I need root in order to find out more in depth. But as of yesterday I haven't heard back on that post. I'm having the exact same issue. No restarts either. I disable the damn thing, and within a day or two, they all get enabled. Why will the damn phone not respect my decision to disable it. Duo, I never use, why the hell does it keep getting enabled? Same with Chrome, and card package. It never used to be like this.
I take it you guys aren't using root; I've just deleted these apps, all is well
I am rooted and I used terminal deloater, xxx no limits, and root essentials and no matter what several Google apps keep coming back after a few reboots and it's irritating
I freeze them with Titanium Backup and they've never come back.
