I need a little Help with 701L Update, please :) - Huawei MediaPad X2

Hey Guys,
I have the Stock Rom GEM-701L...C199B003 .
Could you tell me the difference between it and C100B003?,
and Can I OTA update to C100B008?
Thanks in advance

C is the region code, but we always install different region roms, as huawei offers son many C variants of their device, they cannot product a update for every variant of every model.
In fact on the X2, it is very often that we cross flashing different C roms, and even different model roms (for example, if you want android 6 on your 701L with official rom, you'll have ton install a 702L rom). All those crossflashs work very well.
Not for example that the app firmware finder enable to look for 701L roms instead of 701LC199.
If you want, I can find you a C code chart, to know which C is for wich region (if I remember well, C199 is marked "factory", so not regional in fact).
For you I advice on of these choices :
- Incremental dload update to B005, then B008
- If you install TWRP recovery, you can install directly with it the flashable 701L B008 stock rom by ajsmsg78.
- If you want official android 6, direct dload install of 702L B205
- TWRP recovery install of a custom rom, for much features and less bloatwares ( simply international B205, or kangVIP v3 slim B212)
Tell me if you need links

Many Thanks for these informations
:good: :good: :good:
But before the links,
I think I'm getting too old for rooting, Unlockin Bootloader and these things
I used to do everything with my previous phones
But now I just want to update peacefully my phone to the last 701L B008
So I'm only asking if it would work if I only update from B003 to B008 directly or Incrementally
Or even Flash the B008 full stock rom via stock recovery (the one with only update, wipedata, wipecache)
And would it work If I updated with a different region File?
Again ... Thanks and best regards.

For simple way, follow post #1 here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-x2/general/ota-b008-701l-sept-7th-2017-t3674628
, and first install 701L B005, then 701L B008 (links are in this post) . Full B008 rom does not exist.
But there is an easier way, that gives you moreover android 6 and EMUI 4 (far better!) , just install by official dload method, 702LB205 full rom, directly on your 701L device , works like a charm. See:

Of course I will do the Android 6 thing.
I'm downloading the rom right now.
As I understand it from your links , It's too simple.
Just copy dload Folder & auto_upgrade.cfg file into internal memory then restart or local update ..... Right?
But sorry, I need confirmation from you that everything would be ok because you know I can't do a nandroid backup and I don't want a brick phone.
And thanks alot, you've been very helpful and so patient with me.

1) download the file "GEM-702LC209B205.zip"
2) rename it "update.zip"
3) put it in a "dload" folder at the root of your external SD card, or at the root of your internal storage
5) do a EMUI local update (I recommend that way) , or reboot the X2 (to be sure to launch update at start, turn off the X2, then force the update: power on your X2 with the three buttons pushed until screen shows something)
702LB205 rom has been installed on 701L device with B003 rom before with no issues at all, everything works fine (including 701L extra 4G bands), that's just that your device will now show 702L in "about phone" !

It worked, I really appreciate your help
I guess local update was enough. It didn't need to force the update by pressing the three buttons. I did it anyway , but got failed problem.
Everything look fine up tell now.
Thanks

Yeah, But it is a good difference and I like it .
There is only a little brightness or color hesitation in the home screen just after closing a game or restarting. Also Colors in some HD games at some point become a little bit pale (although with better performance).
but it is not that annoying.
And some settings go back to default after a while like Disabling the default Keyboard.
But other than that everything look great.

hi
Need to be rooted the 701l

let me know if it need to be rooted?

Root it if you need yourself to use a app for tooted device only.
If you don't see the need to be rooted, that's mean you don't have to root.

it works für me. (inflated the zip into dload-Folder on SD-Card and run the Huawei Update-Program by pressing Power on and simultaneously Vol+ and Vol-). Now I have a GEM702L.
Is there the boot and recovery area updated, too by flashing this rom ?
I flashed it, because I had (and still have) an issue: I cannot enter the fastboot-mode. see here

Hello Djiban,
I would like to follow your process.
But all GEM-702LC209B205.zip files that i that I find incl. the ones in your 2 links (one link is dead) are no valid ZIP-Files (they could not be unpacked) and they also fail while doing the update.
It seems they are all the same corrupted file with the exact same size of 1.402.994.688 Bytes.
Do you know an actuall and valid file?
Thank you in advance,
Wonko

How to change the region of your MT7-L09?

Hi guys,
My phone is originally from Colombia. Since I was anxious to get on Lollipop I ended up flashing my phone with the B137 UPDATE_CUST.app, which now only allows me to flash the European firmware. I would like to get back to the Colombian version, but I'm unable to figure out, how? I have tried flashing a vendor.img with hw/nla, but it failed with Command not allowed. I took a look at the files that are included in the B137 UPDATE_CUST, in the hopes that I could create one for B120, which is the version I am currently on, but I have absolutely no idea how to go about it. I would really appreciate any advice and help I can get.
Thanks!
IDK how region works but I mine's from the Philippines and the version was B120SP04. I kept on upgrading and downgrading to and from B324 because of bugs.
I used B125SP02 from Romania and Italy, B120SP04 South East Asia, and will be using the B326 South Africa.
Flash B324 and flash B300 Transition Pack. After successful flashing of B300, flash B120.
Hope this answers your question.

You can find out what region yours is for by dialing *#*#2846579#*#* go to ProjectMenu, then Networking, then vendor and country info. Mine use to say hw/nla, which stands for North Latin America, but now it says hw/eu for Europe. This happened after flashing the B137 UPDATE_CUST.app, what I want now is to get it back to North Latin America, so that I can flash the B327 from Colombia.

es file manager is great in device /system and /build prop ..
where did you get the update_cust.app file from?
No need to change anthing, mine is also nla version, i've already upgrade to B522. I am on B511 first(tried several times cannot upgrade.to B522), then I downgrade to B324, and then use B522 full package upgrade directly.

Galaxy S6 Marshmallow

Hello XDA users,
I bought a galaxy S6 two months ago I always try different ROMS and Kernels but now I want to flash Marshmallow.
I have the unlocked version, SM-G920F running XtresTolite and Hacker Kernel on the 5.1.1 bootloader. I live in Israel my phone's service provider is Golan-Telecom it's taken from Cellcom. As if I flash cellcom's firmware for the galaxy s6 it will work on Golan Telecom cuz it's from it.
I want to flash Marshmallow through Odin cuz I don't have the update.
Can I flash any official Marshmalllow on my phone without problems like losing my network like "Not registered on network", if so, please tell me what I can flash and tell me the steps. I already have a TWRP backup.
Thank you. ?
I never had carrier problems while traveling so I guess You won't have any problems either.
1. Dowmload newest rom for Cyprus or United Kingdom from Sammobile.com (or any 6.0.1 that is unbranded).
2. Download odin 10.7.1
2a. Use usb2.0 ports only.
3. Hold power+vol down+home (to boot into odin mode)
4. Unpack the zip file and in AP select Your tar.md5 file.
5. Let it reboot. Enjoy.

The cyprus version looks like the only one that isn't unbranded (UK is vodafone branded, don't know if that's good?). Also the france MM is also unbranded but the PDA version is different from the rest. It's G920FXXU3DPAD instead of G920FXXU3DPB8.
So which one should I choose the unbranded cyprus or the unbranded france one?
I have the Proximus branded version from Belgium btw.

I was always had problems going from XEF to ANY other FW.... I don't suggest to use it.
I hope it takes only few days to get another FW, wich is unbranded.
I flashed XEF french MM to my g920f, no problems at all, spo2 works, everything works, battery is good, camera flawless
Just flash XEF like @Duzzy5 said or get cyprus version. It's Your choice . Both versions are pretty much identical.

C185 - c636 - c432 - c900 ????????????????

I know that "AL10" is "China region" and "L29" is several others regions.
But do someone know what mean the differents codes on the different roms C185 - C636 - C432 - C900 ????????????????
3 days that I try to know what this codes mean !!!
On mine from "Wondamobile" (L29 gold 64 Go 2 sims) was "L29????B103", I've flashed the "L29C432B152" rom with the method "dload" and 3 buttons without unlock, without TRWP or anything, and it became "L29C900B152" and I don't understand why C432 => C900 ????
NXT-L29C432 is the 3/32 EU model and the 4/64 model is not yet available for Europe.
You probably had previously NXT-L29C185B103.
With the flashing method you used you'll get NXT-l29C432B152 only if previously having NXT-L29C432B133.
IMHO NXT-L29C900 should be a generic model type, the one that appears in the build.prop file of every NXT-L29 Mate 8.
You're not alone:

C900B512 to C185B560

Hi All
I've a confusion here...
I'm from Pakistan i.e I've middle east variant
about 3 4 month ago, I manually flashed a MarshMallow Firmware and I don't know what it was.
Now I've mt7-c900b512 on my Gold mate 7.
I just checked and found that c185b560 is the official firmware of my phone..
so question is how I can flash c185b560 to my phone
I never unlock bootloader or root this phone..
I've 1.23 Gb c185b560 firmware
Is flashing via DLOAD method will do the job?
Can c185 be flashed over c900?If yes then how??
or there is some workaround to do?
plz help me

Hi, I'll try to explain what happened and what you have to do.
The firmware that you have flashed (B512), corresponds to devices with region: hw / spcseas (Asia) And your phone came out of the factory with the version: hw / meafnaf (Middle East). This way you will not be able to update via ota or via DLOAD.
When installing a different region on another is in error. obtaining compilation C900B514 / C900B522 / C900B560. Then this way it is not possible to update.
There are four regions:
hw/spcseas (Asia C636B512)
hw/meafnaf (Middle East C185B514 / C185B560)
hw/cn (China C01B351 )
hw/eu (European C432-B522 /C432-B560/C432-B571)
check your current region. dial *#*#2846579#*#* then tap on network information>vendor country info.
What you have to do is a rolback with the c900b500 transition package (Works for any region) and then install the corresponding version with each region

Is it possible to flash China SM-N9700 (CHC) with Hong Kong (TGY) / Taiwan (BRI) ROM?

One relative bought me a Samsung Note 10 from China. It's a very beautiful phone. However, it doesn't have Google Play Store, worst of all, the default search engine and location service is Baidu.
It seems the Chinese version of Note 10 has same Model number and specs to the ones for Hong Kong and Taiwan, so I tried flash the TGY and BRI firmware with Odin, but both failed when flashing "system.img.ext". Thanks for goodness, I was able to revive the phone with Odin by flashing it back with CHC chinese firmware.
Did I missed some important steps? Or is it possible to flash China SM-N9700 (CHC) with Hong Kong (TGY) / Taiwan (BRI) ROM?
Any advise is appreciated!
Thanks
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaahoooo!
Figured it our myself. It worked !!!!
The Chinese version of Samsung SM-N9700 is actually identical to Hong Kong / Taiwan version.
Here are the tips to rebrand it to Taiwan or Hong Kong version.
1. Download the official firmware of N9700 for Taiwan or Hong Kong (must be higher or same version of your device)
2. Boot into download mode
3. Use Odin to refresh, there are two CSC files in the firmware package, make sure to use the CSC_* file, DO NOT use the HOME_CSC* file it will cause failure on system.img.ext4 flash. Using the simple CSC_ file will wipe everything off your phone and put the phone back to the true factory state, make sure you backup your stuff if you want to keep anything on the device.
4. Enjoy the beautiful Note 10 with Google Play Store installed ))
!!! Warning, do not flash if you don't understand what I am talking about above!!!
Do you know if it's possible to install Android 10 beta on it ? Thanks

Personally I have no interest to test the BETA even if it become available.

No idea, there won't be 5G coverage in my city for at least a couple of years, by that time, the Note 10 will be definitely retired.

OK. Thanks. Trust that HK firmware won't have 5G.
Hi. I have the s10 plus smg9750 china version. I want to flash the Hong Kong firmware. Do i just flash the CSC for the latest Hong Kong version (which is the same version as my china version) or do I flash BL, AP etc? Can u give me a step by step approach to change my Chinese version to hong kong. I keep getting fail on Odin. Thanks
