Little help please - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

My phone is beginning to lag some so I'd like to root and use a custom Rom. It's been a bit since I had a phone I could do it to so I don't want to screw this one up. I've read a bunch of threads but there's too much to go thru. Here's what I'm running, what would be the best/easiest way to get this accomplished. Thanks

There are no custom roms for the Snapdragon variants yet that I know of. The bootloader hasn't been unlocked so no custom recovers either.
I'd read up on the downsides of rooting this phone too (only charging to 80%, knox tripped, etc)

Can you disable OTA Updates?

Hey guys,
I wanted to know if there is a way to disable OTA updates from appearing?
My work phones need to stay on 5.0 until 6.0 works with our call recording app.
The users that use the phones are clicking on upgrade and I want to stop this from happening.
On our old Epic 4G Touch phones, we used an app called FOTAKill.apk
This stopped the updates from occurring.
Do we have anything similar on the Galaxy S5?
Let me know. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

Uncheck that.

or just install a custom recovery. A custom recovery by itself wont stop the notifs, but itll make it to where they wont be able to be installed

Changing the GUI for selecting a time

Hey guys,
I had a quick question that I couldn't find in the forums, or on Google in general for that matter. Is there a way to change the way time is input on our device? For example, when I'm choosing the time for a calendar event, this is what I see on my Honor 8 running the latest version of EMUI:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Is there a way to go back to this method of selecting the time?
Thanks!
I've been annoyed with the same thing for a while now, and googling shows we are not alone. It seems to be something Huawei has done (at least on Nougat), and I'm afraid there's very little we can do short of hoping for a fix in a future system update.

Getting TWRP and Rooting LG K7

I currently have the LG K7 model number- LG-K330, it has a T-Mobile Carrier.
I have been wanting to root it, and get the TWRP recovery, but I have been really struggling with this device. The article I was following earlier, was not very specific, and I have only done this with one other device, which was android 4.2.2, so that was a lot easier to do then this. I mainly want to do this because......idk I just do . And my other phone is dying, the screen

So I thought, well I can get twrp, and root this other phone, and I will beable to A. Hack Android games, which would be fun, B. Get custom recovery and get rid of certain bloatware. I just need help, thanks in advance let me know if you have any questions

Could anyone verify this LG-G710PM can be unlocked and rooted?

I have three questions relating to this phone if anyone can answer them.
I was wondering if this phone with the current firmware/software version can be bootloader unlocked and rooted? (I will continuing to use Sprint so sim unlock isn't necessary).
If so, which tutorial would be the best method to use?
Lastly, once rooted will I be able to load custom roms?
Any recommended roms that are stable, fast, with great battery life?
I appreciate your time and help.

The Sprint version is unlockable but it's a bit of a hassle. Once you unlock, you can root it as well
For tutorials you have go to the guides section.
There is only one ROM that is stable and official which is EvoX atm.

I was wondering is anyone can help me with this on updating my phone from where it is now cuz it's pretty much kind of useless now but I know it has so much more potential than that I've been doing a little bit of research about it I know some not much but if someone can help me and put me in the right direction how I can update everything manually or harder son it would be greatly appreciated
Updating means patching existing Android version, in your case Android 7.1.1.
Aahh... okay so what do I need to do exactly to update my phone to today's services....
OS updates typically get rolled out by OEM / Carrier if they deem it neccessary.
