Pixel Unlimited Full Res Photo Backups - Ground Zero ROMS Q&A

Can anyone with a pixel confirm that the unlimited full resolution photo backup works with Validus?

We're on Oreo now and marlin hasn't been released yet so... and not sure about nougat since I don't have a pixel.

Still no DRM backup for XZP?

I'm to flash aosp 8.1 in order to use Google Camera HDR+, but it seems like there's still no complete TA or DRM backup for XZP
I googled for this, and there was one post that says to be DRM backup for XZP, but participants of that post say it's just a partial backup of TA partition, and not a complete backup.
Does anyone know if DRM backup for XZP released?
I know there's DRM patch for XZP, but not having to bypass DRM and get full backup of DRM might be way better.
im not sure there is but most likely not.
its not about better or worse, the patch works the same as restoring original backed up DRM. but then again if you want to relock/unroot you dont have the original DRM and you will not have a working camera, so in my opinion once rooted youre stuck...
but there are stock roms that have drm fixed and you will not notice any difference than official sony fw if you do its probably an advantage over the official fw as it is more optimized and smoother (thats why they made them XD)
another disappointment by sony....
having 120hz screen that we have no access to, neither perfectly working native 4k at all time, camera has potential that is not fully used in stock camera app.
all these features are there but we cant access them I dont know whats the point then, root could be the option to use such splendid features but then again, warranty is gone
so thanks to sony if we want to use the full potential of their creation we have to compromise to warranty and stock functionality.
only one type of people would create such features that are usless - money hungry advertisers who only care about money rather than customer's happiness
I mean if I ever create a device, I would never release it out there without its full potential functioning in the best way possible, like HTC. ( maybe HTC is not the best in some point of views of people but you get what they promise).

Google Camera 4.2 w/ Raw support.

So after tinkering with this phone for quite awhile! With the help of another developer, we now have a decent working port of google camera for the razer phone. Portrait mode is not working in this version because portrait was introduced in version 5.1 and later. Also the razer phone has hardcoded front camera2 as legacy so there is no raw support so you will never get selfie portrait to work. Hopefully razer will remove this hardcode in Pie, but it's very unlikely. I have sold my phone so there will be no more development from me on this, I'm simply sharing back and actually CARING to have a decent camera!
First and foremost, you need to root your device and unlock the bootloader (recommended but does not have to), then replace all these chromatix files for color fix, using a file explorer of your type. I highly recommend Solid Explorer:

After you replace the libs, install the apk and shoot. Modified to have locked 35 frames in all conditions, with raw so you can edit these amazing pictures afterwards.

I tried replacing those files to "vendor/lib" and now it says Camera Error " Can't connect to the camera". Do any of you guys have the original files? I forgot to make a back up.

There's no way you get a Camera Error. Are you on the latest firmware for the Razer? I did this multiple times... I don't have the stock bc I sold it already as mentioned. You can do a factory reset or reflash the rom.
Works very well and seems to stable. Been using it for two weeks now and taken ~200 photos with HDR without a single crash.
Thanks for you work!
Hey can you do this for newer versions and can we get a port with telephoto let z

Best method to take an image from OP6 to OP7 pro?

Hi Guys, just as the title states,
Wondering what is the best/easiest method to essentially take an image of my old OP6 and migrate it to OP7 pro?
Would like to take all data if possible (settings, data, images, etc)
Nandroid? The Factory OnePlus Switch app?
Thanks for your time.
I used the OnePlus switch app to move from a Galaxy S8+ to my OP7 pro and it worked surprisingly flawlessly. It brought app data and settings and things I've always had to move manually in the past.
I used the same thing coming from my pixel it worked awesome
If you're rooted, titanium backup works a treat
Also, used OnePlus Switch.

New on device assistant

Would be possible to have the faster assistant that runs on-device just like Pixel 4?

im currently on pixel experience 10 and it does not have. :/
It will come. Just be patient
They just released the new version of Google Assistant for the 3 and 3 XL today. The 3a will also receive it and that phone is very underpowered. If it will get it we will also see ports for the new APK for our phones eventually.
Info on why we don't have the new Pixel 4 features:
LIVE CAPTION is embedded into Device Personalization Services and is DISABLED by default in AndroidManifest.xml and needs modifying to make it work.
FACE UNLOCK is embedded into SettingsGoogleFuture.apk that's only found in the Pixel factory images. Modifying it and making it show up works, but making it actually work again doesn't.
The NEXT GEN ASSISTANT is embedded into SystemUIGoogle.apk that's also only found in the Pixel factory images. It will be needed to be ported via smali to java editing which takes a lot of time and effort.
Those features are not readily available for custom ROMs except those that use the Pixel 4 files directly.

(Question) Does GCam have access to full photo sensor resolution on rooted phone?

When I root my phone, is there a way to allow 3rd party camera apps access to the full res photo sensor. Also, if I do have full resolution access, will I need to acquire a specific Gcam mod that will make use of this increased resolution or adjust xml settings?
Background:
I've recently been excited about purchasing a OnePlus8T, upgrading from a Pixel3. Plans to root the device (something I've done with every phone) as well as install GCam. In doing some research on initial mods I intend to complete on the phone, I came across an article from a GCam modder that says OnePlus blocks access to the full 48MP photo sensor resolution for 3rd party camera apps, instead limiting to a 12MP binned resolution. The GCam mod I've been leaning towards is GCam_7.3.018_Urnyx05-v2.1_Wichaya_V3.1.1_snapcam. If you've got other recommendations, please pass them along. Also, I'd be happy to install Magisk modules if necessary to achieve my desire.
