Hello guys
So i broke the display glass ( not the touchscreen itself) of my honor 8.
Funfact: I had a tempered glass foil on it but on the screen above there were two millimetres not covered by the foil.
Did somebody of you only chanched the display glass or did you guys changed the complete touchscreen?
I did already do some research of the costs:
Display glass with some utilities which you need: roundabout 25 $ ( 20 €)
Touchscreen: round about 70$ (60 €)
The next question is if this is doable by myself or do i need to go to a repairshop (120 to 200 dollars)
Maybe somebody of you have experience in this topic
Thank you guys in advance

Hi
My nexus 5 has fallen down. Touch and everything is working graet. But the front glass is broken. Is it possible to replace just the front glass or must i replace the whole lcd+Touchscreen??
The whole lcd costs 80 €. Its too much for this old phone.
Thanks in advance
You need special equipment to separate the glass from lcd and there is a large chance that you break the lcd. LCD with Glass and plastic frame cost around 40USD on aliexpress or ebay
Yup, aliexpress.com is the way to go for a low price but the screen isn't quite as nice as an original LG screen. I've replaced the LCD/frame/digitizer on two N5s and it was very easy.
Stupidly managed to smash the front glass on my Honor 6 plus while on holiday. I've been quoted 90 GBP for a repair, but that's about half what a new phone would cost. I can get the glass and tools very cheaply. Does anyone know if I can replace the glass only (screen and digitiser are fine) without completely dismantling the phone?
I accidentally drop my device and got a crack from the right end to the left end of the display glass...but no touch problems or other.... Working perfectly fine....when I search for the display replacement, just the duplicate copy of the display itself cost about 7500INR (115 dollars)
Can anyone please tell me actual price of an original AMOLED display for Moto x 2014:crying:

My Moto X 2014 fell to the ground from my pocket (and a motor bike passed over it), it had glass screen protector but the Gorilla Glass still shattered from one corner. I have search the internet and found these:
https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=0&SearchText=moto+x+2014+screen
https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=moto+x+2nd+generation+screen+replacement
my ex had her X2014 in her back pocket, and fell and sat and cracked the glass. I replaced it with a non-oem part. People before me already listed the prices and links, I just wanted to point some pointers on installing.
1. Make sure you heat the back cover hot enough that it comes off relatively easily! Because if you tear the adhesive that keeps the backplate in place, when you put the back back on you might/ have bumps because the adhesive now folds/ less adhesive to keep the plate on.
2. When you try to poke the backplate out to create a gap from the sim-tray hole (check ifixit), be careful not to bend the frame towards the screen. You will have trouble putting the new screen back on if you do.
3. The screws strip REALLY easy. Be careful while screwing and tightening!
4. Some screens's speaker grill holes are too small and the grill wont fit well on the new non-oem screems.
Where can one source the rear glass from?
My Pixel 2 dropped from an ottoman onto a tile floor landing on its back top corner, and spider-webbed the back glass panel. I just measured this little ottoman - it's only 22" tall. A fall of 22" is all it takes.
My biggest concern is the spider web effect actually chipped the glass, where the glass breaks off in very tiny pieces. And it's depositing tiny glass particles all around the house - where i have a 1 year old toddler all over the floors. Not to mention my pants' pockets and my desk. I'll go pickup a cheap cover to keep the glass from crumbling all over the floors for now.
I see these "uBreakiFix" stores can replace the glass for $150 or so at a local store. I have no local store near me, nor do I think $150 is worth a tiny piece of glass. But they seem to be able to get the glass replacements.
I have repaired dozens of our tablets and phones of the years so I have no issue with that part. I just need to source the glass.
Thanks!

Hi, did you managed to get the pixel2 rear Glass? I had the same problem, but, I live in Brasil and have no one around to do the job.

Nope, not yet. For now I just got a cover until I can get a replacement.
Same problem, the google staff in Italy ask me around 200€. The rear glass for Pixel 1 is on eBay for 5€ and on what I've seen in YouTube it just need 5 minute of work.....
Keep in touch for the first who will find the replacement

Found this, so I'm trying it when it arrives
Hey man, just wondering if you can tell us anything new? My back glass shattered too and the glass itself isn't too expensive now. But can you get the old one off without complete disassembly? So many teardowns and nobody touched the back glass.
Hi everyone, my pixel screen has gone after a bad fall. I'm sad. Around my town there's no place that can fix it but they can replace it if supply the screen. On Amazon there is just the screen (20 euro circa) and the screen + the digitizer (120 circa). The touchscreen works perfectly. Is the 20€ glass enough or should supply them the digitizer one? Thank you guys.
Replacing only the front-glass is nontrivial.
Ask the shop if they have a laminating machine with a vacuum/autoclave.
I recently just bought front glass and found a shop that was able to replace the front-glass only. This is the far-cheaper solution, but now there's odd bubbles under the screen, so, find a shop that knows how to do it properly.
