Pixel 2 pip doesn't work(picture in picture) - Google Pixel 2 Questions & Answers

Last week I owned a pixel XL and I got pip to work with Google maps...
But my new pixel2 does not pip.?. I just get Google assistant asking me "how can i help?"
I tried using maps, Netflix, YouTube ,Google movies (even tried chrome streaming YouTube, because I live in the UK) all failed!?
Each app settings say pip is enabled
I've also enabled settings->Apps & notification -> special app access
What am I missing?
Any idea why?

I am not sure why this would happen exactly, but I wanted to let you know that picture-in-picture works correctly for Google Maps on my Pixel 2 - I am running Android 8.1 Developer Preview 1. What OS version are you running on your phone?

Its not working for me as well i even tryed uninstalling youtube and clearing cache

My version is the normal oreo 8.0 ! Has anyone got chrome or google-movies to work?

No 1080p option on YouTube? Try this fix

I'm used to this issue on my 3 months old Galaxy Tab S, it has never worked as expected showing the maximum 1440p resolution until you clear YouTube cache and data, force close it, disable it Uninstalling updates, once this is done then you go to Play Store and look for YouTube, it should shows Enable, and one you enable it, and update to latest version, then you have your full resolution options including 1440p. Sad thing is that everytime there is a new YouTube update we need to do the same again.
I did the same steps on my Z3 just to see that it didn't work, so I went back to apps and saw that there are 2 more apps directly related to YouTube, I already have disabled Live On YouTube as I tried to use it and never weekend and then I realized that I'll never use it again. Anyway, I decided to do the same steps mentioned above but this time I also disabled the 2 YouTube extensions that are there, went back to the Play Store and Enabled and updated YouTube and when I went back to the app there are all the options including 1080p, one thing though, it seems to not stay skeeter by default, just select it and then re-start the video and you will see it on 1080p.
I re-enabled the 2 YouTube Extensions back just to see if it breaks it again but it seems that it still working so that's good news.
I hope you can fix it with this information, at least until the next YouTube update.
Hey erasat, thanks for the info.
Just tried, but I didnt understand which apps you meants by "2 more apps directly related to youtube"? - the Live On youtube & the youtube app itself? is that what you meant, or is there one more?

On my D6633 with latest Custom HK firmware, there are 2 apps named, YouTube extension and YouTube Karaoke extension in addition to the Live On Youtube that like I mentioned was disabled already.
There was a Youtube update last night, for my surprise and contrary to my Galaxy Tab S, the 1080p settings survived. So even better.
Sadly after Tuesday's update it seems that this is no longer working, just like it happens in my Galaxy Tab S. I've been doing the same steps I've done a lot of times now and what I described above and this time is no longer working, Highest resolution I can choose from now is 720p. Really frustrating...

Can't Play Video, Video Not Found - Google Photos and Google+

Awesome phone so far. I've had it about 2 weeks. This is the first real issue I've had:
When I try to play a video in a Google+ post I get "Can't Play Video". Embedded Youtube videos in Google+ work fine though. When I try to play a video in my Google Photos collection, I'll get "Video not found." and then a few seconds later, "Can't play video." The exception to this is videos that I've recorded with this phone and backed up to Google Photos. Those play fine but the phone can't play any of my older videos.
All the Google+ and Photos videos play fine from my old Android phone and my PC. Any ideas?
So far, I've tried clearing the app data and cache on Google+ and Google Photos. I also tried enabling Nu Player in Developer Options.
Edit: I just tried using Chrome instead of the Google Photos app and the videos played fine. For the Google+ videos, Chrome can't play them, but Firefox can.
I discovered the same "can't play video" issue in G+ videos but YouTube ones play fine - I have reported this numerous times to Google and I also tried switching from awesome player to Nu Player in dev options - the only solution so far I've found is to go to Apps and uninstall G+ updates to the stock version - then they play perfectly again - I assume this is a glitch in the 5.0.2 lollipop version, so hopefully we get 5.1 ota or Marshmallow by Christmas as I've seen rumored, I have the carrier unlocked 6045i which I put my $30 a month Tmobile sim in.
I also noticed there seems to be no Minutes used section under mobile and whereas I can set the date range for billing in mobile data, I can't set the wifi usage date range, haven't tried any root yet as I'm hoping for ota to solve these minor bugs, otherwise love the phone also.
Fixed with today's OTA update!

Any way to bypass the forced YouTube update message?

Hey all
My mom has an old Samsung phone (I think it's a Samsung S4). She mostly just use WhatsApp and Youtube on it. Unfortunately, when we open the YouTube app now, it shows a message saying that the app must be updated to use, but we can't even update it because the android version is old and not supported anymore. I tried some things like clearing cache, tried installing an old Youtube APK, but none worked.
Is there any way to bypass this forced update?
Just install YouTube vanced. You'll have the bonus of no ads.
Vanced

Thank you very much! I installed an old version of Vanced (since the newest version won't work on old phones) and it's working perfectly.

Advice regarding P40 Pro.

Hello everyone,
First of all - thanks for taking your time to read this and to eventually give me advice.
I have P40 pro since release. I am using this wonderful phone and I installed google services long time ago and they are working. I have Youtube and Maps working, Google play store working, for mail I am using classic Huawei Mail application, WhatsApp notifications and Viber notifications are working and thats all I need.
However on Youtube I cant cast on my TV. It says "Google Play Services needs to be updated".
Now I have seen that on my phone I have Google Play Services version of 20.12.14, Youtube us 18.15.35, GAM is 4.4.4 Google Play Store is 35.4.10-21.
In guide I have seen that latest version of Google Play Services is 21.24.56. Does Youtube cast (for TV) works with this version of Google Play Services?
Also to mention, I am on EMUI 11.0.0.260. There is update for 12.0.0.218 but I am afraid to update - not to loose Google and all working apps.
Questions:
Is it safe to upgrade EMUI to 12?
Should I downgrade and upgrade Google Play Services to latest - to get Youtube cast on TV?
One more time, thanks all for reading this.
You can upgrade to any version of EMUi.
The last stable version of Play Services is 21.24.56. A new version can provide Play Protect Errors sooner or later.
Never ( I mean NEVER) downgrade EMUI or reset the phone to factory settings ( especially on this times).
