Switch between 3G and 2G?

I have a friend with this phone....
He has 3G activated on his SIM Card but he wants to use 2G (EDGE / GPRS) instead....
Is there anyway he can switch between 2G and 3G?

Dude... tell your friend to explore the phone's settings...
And he'll eventually find what he needs at /settings/wifi and networks/mobile networks

Its not my phone and if I call him and tell him that and if he doesn't get it then I would have to ask here again.
So.....
I don't think anyone is gonna kill you if you directly answer my question.....

Exactly !!

Use only 2g works. The 3G here is very expensive so I use only 2g. But when I reboot it automatic goes to 2g. What should I do?

can change between 2g and 3g
USE code in dialer

Select wcdma for 3g and then select all
or for 2g use gsm >> all
Automatic>>>>>automatic

Settings -> Wireless and Networks -> Mobile networks -> Network Operators
By Default GSM/WCDMA (Auto mode) is selected.
GSM = 2G
WCDMA = 3G
Select the one you want to use.

When you reboot your phone, it goes to 2g.. okay... and 3g is expensive so you use only 2g.
What is the question ?

I guess he wants to disable automatic "data transfer mode" enabling.
if you want to do that
Settings>Wireless and Network>Mobile Network>Use Data Connection.

APN Settings for Simple Mobile on Star N8000

Owner of the Star N8000 dual sim, I would like to know the Simple Mobile APN settings for the N8000 because Simple can't give the apn settings because they can't identify the phone. Will the N8000 give 3G or 4G or Edge on Simple Mobile in the USA?

so i have a star n8000 as well im trying to figer out how to get the edge network on this device , have done the apn settings 4 times and still have no data on 3g or the edge network im using att at the moment , but soon will be suing simple mobile ! if u now how please let me no so i can at least get edge network..thanks

Hi, I'm not a lawyer but I can tell u my simple mobile current Edge Go Settings->Mobile Networks->Access Point Names->Name type Simple->MMSC type http://10.165.193.23/mms/wapeme->Menu select Save then Turn Off then On
Now this is for Edge and if anyone knows 3G settings please post on this thread!
For AT&T proxy 66.209.11.33, port 80 select menu then save turn off then on next pull down menu select data comm on! "H" should appear

Try going settings, network and internet, global roaming, network mode.
Going from other menu is indeed disabled the 3g

I can but during events with large crowds, 4G network can sometimes get so congested where 3G actually works better.
It has to do with having a bad mobile network operator as well

SOLVED: VISIBLE: Network & Internet - Mobile network - VoLTE greyed out but ON?

Carrier is Visible (VZW). Under Network & Internet - Mobile network - VoLTE is greyed out in the ON position. Does this mean VoLTE is ON & I can't switch it off?

Ok I got to menu *#*#4636#*#* . And LTE is listed under Voice Network Type. I'm thinking that means I have VoLTE enabled. Am I correct?

Sorry my brain leaves the building at times thanks all. Also just wondering why my Moto G Stylus show only LTE & not VoLTE in the notification area. Of course Visible doesn't use CDMA.
