[Q] can't use 3g on sgr(india)

guys i can't use 3g on my phone don't know why ........on selecting only wcdma mode my network gets lost
only gsm mode is working fine
please help guys should i take my handset to the custmer care or its nly network problem

maybe in ur city/area 3g services are not available by ur network provider. try contacting customer care services of your network.

i have checked everything 3g service is available in my circle.......but i don't know why i cant use it.........do our handset supports umts or something like this

yes sgr supports 3g network, which network u use and from which city?

im using TATA DOCOMO in chandigarh.....
hey is UMTS diffrent from WCDMA...
bcos my handset shows only WCDMA

if u use wcdma setting ur device will search for available 3g network. u better call 121 and ask customer care executive about 3g services in ur town. if they confirm that 3g is available in ur area than complain about 3g not working ur device they will guide u for making correct settings.

Go to Settings -> Wireless & Mobile networks -> Touch on Mobile Networks.
Click on Access Point Names:
If you already have settings click on TATA DOCOMO INTERNET.
If not you can send SMS “INTERNET” to 52270 and save them default settings.
If you are not getting Settings for some reason.
Follow the steps:
in the Settings page click menu > NEW APN.
Enter the details as below:
Name : TATA DOCOMO INTERNET
APN: TATA.DOCOMO.INTERNET
Proxy:
Port:
User name:
Password:
Server:
MMSC:
MMS Proxy:
MMS Protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 405
MNC: 034
Authentication type:
Apn Type: default.
See if the above works

I had faced the same problem before! All networks work only on gsm mode by default! And 3g works fine on the same mode.. Its just that you need to get the right settings from your network provider and get 3g activated at your provider end!

just if u knew....
before some dayz back docomo gives us access to its 3g network without subscribing to its 3g plan,which is giving speed abot 15-20 kbps...
but frm past 10 to 15 dayz its not giving us its 3g network without recharging with its 3g plann....
do u recharged with its 3g plan??

I faced the same problem while I was using airtel. I sent them an SMS requesting for the 3g settings after which it was solved... you should probably send an SMS asking for the settings...

@vikas145, Is it that you bought your mobile just now and configuring the settings? If so, try to do a factory reset first and then reboot. 3G will work perfectly.

guys 3g is still not working on my SGR plz help out...... on selecting wcdma in network settings there's no network on my phone......so what to do with it

You have to activate 3g pack ,then only H or 3G symbol will appear.
Otherwise ,you will get edge network .
I am also using tata docomo and same thing had happened to me.
Tata docomo cancelled giving 3g network on 2g pack activation from january this year.
For testing you can activate Rs.9 (10MB) 3g pack.make sure that you are in 3g area.

If u have activated 3g pack thn u should keep WCDMA mode or Auto mode... u can't use 3g data service in GSM mode

If u activate 3g pack,then the network automatically switches to 3g or H network from edge(E).network selection should be auto mode(WCDMA/GSM).

[Q] 3g issue

Hello there, i just got this phone 3 weeks ago and since i have wifi i didnt test the 3g conection before. i activated a data pack and i just realized that my 3g doesnt come on at all. the screen shows 4g left side of the signal strengh but it doesnt work at all. i got at&t version. i confirmed with my carrier and i did activate data, they even helped me to set up the apn but is still not working. can you helpe me? thanks!
PD: they said they couldnt have done more because they dont support that type of device

Does it say 4G or 4G LTE? The at&t icons are a bit different I'd you're not used to them.
4G = hspa
4G LTE = LTE
So if you're getting the 4G icon you are actually getting 3G hspa speeds.

If another carrier besides AT&T, you will need to find the APN settings for your carrier and manually enter it into Settings>Mobile network settings>Access point names. Select "New APN" and enter the correct settings for your manufacturer.
The 4G icon simply means a network is present, it doesn't mean you are connected to it.

thank you for helping people. whel actualy i wouldnt mind getting 3g network access, the point is that i dont have internet access at all. i called my carrier (Claro - El salvador) and they helped me to set up the apt but is still not working. i was wondering if there is something else i could try to fix this

nevermind, i finally fixed it

sorry. well, first i did master reset, once done i set up an apn (carrier provides you with this info), then went to mobile network > network operators > select automatically. once the device found the "CLARO" network i turned data on and got internet service.

I'm guessing you either had not entered the APN info exactly correctly the first time. Or also, after entering the APN you actually have to select it as the "active" one on the list of APNs (making sure it has the colored dot next to it). Maybe it did need a factory reset, but this shouldn't be necessary just to change APN.

S6 lte problem

I have a samsung galaxy s6(sm-G920F) on 5.1.1 non rooted, the problem i am facing is that the lte stopped working without any reason, i didnt drop it neither i updated anything it just stopped working now i only see the E sign on the network bar, i couldn't find any answer for this so any help is appreciated

You said your rom is not rooted? That probably means the default network settings for your phone is LTE/3G/2G. That option will look for the best signal you have in your current location, then it will choose that data network i.e., EDGE .
It seems like your 4g/LTE signal is weak on your vicinity Perhaps, if you could force LTE (by rooting and installing Advance Signal Status app from Playstore [Device Info >Set Preferred Network Type > LTE only) you can have at least lte reception. Unless, 4g is not available in your area
Try going outside your house, and find open spot and see if your device was able to detect it.
Just let me know if you still have some concerns. Cheers!

But if I insert my sim card in some other mobile i can see the lte sign on top :/
So it cant be the problem with the reception
& one of my friend uses the same simcard as mine
But he's able to use lte
I have tried the WCDMA only option
But cant get the lte sign
Please help me :/

So it cant be the reception which is causing troubles :/
I cant even connect to a 3g
It only connects to an EDGE :/

Same problem for me. Same galaxy s6 model and same original android version 5.1.1 (g920fxxu3q0kn)
From a couple of days it doesn't connect on lte. But the big problem is that if I choose lte/3g/2g it doesn't connect neither in 3g. I have to force it to 3g only to let the device connect back to internet.
I don't know why but when I came back home, if I switch back on lte/3g/2g, it connect back again on 3g (no lte in my home area)
I'm not sure if it is involved with transit in/out wifi spot or some kind of lte cells. I will try other tests next days
I fear it could be a bad bug

Help with s6 edge data

Hello,
Am having problems with my sprint s6 edge after I updated it to marshmallow. The data has not shown up so I cant really use my data if am far from wifi and my network operator doesnt show up. Can anyone help me with files to get it working as I love my s6 edge.
Is it possible that if I root the Sprint s6 edge and install a custom roms, the data will be back working? If that will work, can I get the files to root it and the possible available roms I can run on it. Plz help. Tnx

You need to setup APN. Go to Setting -> Mobile networks - >Access Point Names then click Add
In here you can config your APN infomation, the APN information you can ask your telecom network service.
Example my APN (i'm using Viettel in Vietnam):
Name: Viettel
APN: v-internet
no user name and no password.
Remember, that is my APN information from my telecom network service.
It's not work for you, you must ask your telecom network service for that information.

APN will not show automatically. You need to add new APN by yourself. Follow my guide to do that.

Msl code

I have a note 5 sm n920p. After i ugrade to mm. The mobile data toggle was disappered.and i cant access 4g lte data only on 3g data. I ve senn that you need a mls code to change the settings and have access to modify options. Does anybody how to activate my phone to use it? I live in europe i dont know how thing works for sprint

##data# from the dialer then click edit then LTE. Check lte enabled to see if its checked and change your lte bands if needed. Or instead of clicking on lte scroll down to more then click HDR/1x selection then set it from there

Yes i cant access to edit because i dont have the msl code. i chatted with the sprint support but that asked my data i dont have.. any way fmto access edit section to ##3282# ?

Flash the Moar rom and you can access it without a code that's how i change mines

Endri, Was your phone's original firmware 5.1.1 and with the logos of Andoid-Al-Yemen...?
SM-920P does not have the necessary 4G Bands to use in Albania. I mean, the modem is capable but I DO NOT recommend trying to engineer the Qualcomm processor... By the way look for a sticker on the upper bezel of your phone if it has any "QUALCOMM 4G" adhesive sticker...
Anyway, don't mess with the settings on the data or service menu or you will sim lock your phone back to sprint. If you are brave enough and want to mess with the settings, my advice is: Do not touch anything that has "NV" written to it! Probably you will re-lock you phone back to Sprint as this model's NV golden backup locks it back.
