S7 Live Demo Stock Marshmellow SM-G930X needed - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

I've been looking around everywhere and can't find the Stock Live Demo Rom/Firmware for SM-G930X.
I have a second Live Demo unit
Android : 6.0.1
Kernel : 3.18.14-9066105
Build : MMB29k_G930XXXU1BPH3_LLK
Is there a way I can backup this unit to flash it to the other with ODIN

You want the actual demo firmware?
Why not flash / unlock it to full G930F firmware?
You'd probably have to flash TWRP to the other one then create a full nandroid backup with TWRP, same on the one you're looking for the firmware for, but restore it rather than back it up

Actual demo firmware is not required to unbrick g930x you will also use g930f whole firmware except modem files only

I am not looking to unbrick a unit
The setup I need requires 2 demo units I only have 1
So i'd like to flash a spare retail unit to demo firmware

[Q] s6 G920x or G920i?

Hello
I bought an s6 on ebay a few days ago (live demo unit) & under system settings it says model number is SM-G920X "no official/custom firmwares/roms for this model so far" but when i went into recovery menu (vol up+home+power) it said it was a LRX22G.G920IDVU1AOC6 model. The G920i got my attention though since demo units don't normally have any letters other than an x "I might be wrong here though" it also has a sim slot that does open and i can see a circut board in there.
Is this a real demo unit or retail unit with the demo firmware running on it? and if the later which firmware should i use?
Thanks for any help

SM-G930V purchased in Australia

Hi All,
I have a moderate experience in flashing firmwares and modding my samsung devices over the years.
I have recently purchased an S7 which is unfortunately a SM-G930V model, i thought it would have been the SM0G930F which would have made life much easier.
I want to know if it is possible to get the original Australian firmware or even generic stock firmware on this device?
My issue is with the network settings where i have manually put in APN settings my match my carrier and 4G coverage in australia.
If not am i able to just flash a different baseband to this device preferably Australian?
I have read that flashing a different model firmware will soft brick the device, i just want some insight before i start breaking things, also what are my options.
Much appreciated, thanks, Will
You have the snapdragon s7, you can't flash the exynos 930f firmware on it, you can only flash the american firmware. You might have luck with the 930u unbranded firmware just do some research on it.
Thanks mate,
I'm going to flash this firmware using ODIN, do you know if it will be successful?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s7/how-to/xda-community-love-g930u-t3415875
not sure how to check my bootloader version etc
No clue, goto the verizon subforum and see if anyone flashed the 930u firmware on their 930v.
Just tried to flash the firmware to my phone and recieved an error, the phone is now stuck at download mode with error:
sw rev check fail : [system] fused 3 > binary 4
this means the bootloader won't accept the firmware?
LOL, guess ill try another firmware.. Any ideas?

type of Samsung s7

The informations on download mode are in chinese and I don't see any number. Have you an other solution. Thanks
According to the screen shots, the phone had an sm-g930o bootloader and baseband but the model number says 930fd.
Does the IMEI match a 930o or 930fd? Where did you get the phone? Does the IMEI in the phone match the IMEI on the box or anywhere on the packaging?

The IMEI in the phone IS the same that on the box. When I check IMEI, the return IS G930F Galaxy s7 (SM-G9300) and the phone IS a dual sim
The 930f (exynos) and 930o (Qualcomm) are different models.
The 930o is a China phone: http://www.phonemore.com/samsung-galaxy-s7-duos-sm-g9300/specs/3148 which explains the Chinese writing in download mode.
Where did you get the phone? Box looks like an original Samsung box? Does the phone have a label on the back with the IMEI?

I buy it on internet and yes the box is an original and the phone have the label on the back.
Do you know if I Can install Twrp and root this one and some custom roms? Thanks
I would not flash anything until your know the model number for sure.
The phone could have been put together with different parts or installed with incorrect software.
You see any model number in download mode? If there is no English, maybe attach a picture of the download screen.
Since the text in download mode is Chinese, I think the motherboard inside is a 9300 and the 9300 ROM could not be used because the China phone would not have the Google Play store.

But I have Google play store because if you look at the PDA it's G930FXXU1BPH6 which is G930F Hungary fw. They have mix some different fw. BL and CP are G9300 china and CSC is G9350 Hong Kong (TGY). I don't know that it was possible. I think the bootloader are unlock but not sure
If the bootloader is for a 9300, then it is a China model and the stock 9300 rom would not have the Play store which is probably why it has a 9300 bootloader and a rom from another country.

Yes you're right if the PDA is China. In my case the PDA is Hungary. For my culture, the PDA contain the different Google apk and services, no?
I would contact the seller and ask why the software is mixed up and maybe exchange the phone for another phone.

Ok thanks to you. I think he had convert a sm-g9300 into a sm-g930fd.
Samsung phones can't be converted from one model to another. Samsung bootloaders are not always locked but they are restricted to running bootloaders that are made for a particular model. Odin will not allow you to flash a 930f bootloader onto a 930o phone.
The phone motherboard is probably a 9300 and will only take ota updates if it is running a stock 9300 ROM. I'm not sure how you will be able to install security updates and patches.
I have the same problem. My phone is g930f buy the chipset is snapdragon. What firmware should I flash now?

Whichever model it says in Download Mode is the correct model, everything else can be faked, flash firmware for the model in download mode

I need help to identify the correct firmware for my S7 (SM-G930F)

I bought a new S7 (G930F) at ebay. When it arrived i wanted to update to the newest firmware, but i got an error notification.
I contacted Samsung and they told me to send it in.
They checked it and told me, that they are not willing to help because the phone is flashed with a wrong firmware. I bought it as a new device. This is unpleasant.
The seller doesn't answer my messages, so i thought maybe i can flash a new firmware by myself. The actual firmware is working but it is outdated. (1. August 2018)
But how can i find out which firmware is correct for this phone? How to say if it is exynos or snapdragon?
The phone information
Modellnummer: SM-930F
Seriennummer: 5AF94C0C
Buildnummer: R16NW.G930FFXXU7CRH2
Kernel: 3.18.71-14274519 [email protected] #1
Basisband: G930FFXXU7CRH2
Android 8.0.0
Samsung Experience: 9.0
I would like to flash the latest firmware and i want to use the phone in germany. Can somebody identify the correct firmware?
Thanks a lot
What does the phone say in download mode? The ROM can be modified to lie about the model and firmware, but download mode will tell you the truth.
If download mode says it's a G930F then it's Exynos, if it says G930U/V/T/A then it's Snapdragon.
If it is a G930F then good news is you can just flash whatever G930F firmware you want over top what's on it. If it's Snapdragon then you're a bit stuffed, you can't flash Exynos firmware onto Snapdragon.
For updating it if it is G930F my recommendation would be to find out the region code for your device, e.g. from here https://updato.com/firmware-archive...act=1&r=DBT,XEG,DCO,DDE,VIA,DTM,VD2&v=&rpp=15 then download the firmware using that region code with SamFirm tool https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647
Download Mode says SM-G930V
I'm doomed
Yep that's a common scam. If you can't return to seller the next best thing would be to flash the G930U firmware, which is the generic unlocked firmware for Snapdragon.
It won't give you the equivalent experience, but it will remove any bloat and give you a carrier unlocked phone experience.
You can use the same methods I mentioned to get your hands on the latest G930U firmware and update the device, but you may need this specific Odin version to flash G930U over G930V https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/patched-odin-3-13-1-t3762572
Thanks. Does TMK, TFN, TMB,... make a difference when the phone is used in germany?
Should i flash all 5 files:?:
AP
BL
CP
CSC
Home
I tried and my result is: Flashing only AP was not enough. Flashing all 5 worked fine for me. I chose TMK and even LTE is working. Thanks a lot.
Glad its working, for reference CSC and Home_CSC are both CSC files and you usually pick just one. Home_CSC doesn't do a data wipe, CSC does.
But when changing from G930V to G930U it's always safest to do the CSC wipe.

g970n vs g970f

Hi all,
Yesterday I bought an S10e under the impression that it is sm-g970F.
Trying to flash Android 11 I discovered that it is actually sm-g970N.
Is there really a difference between them?
Should I be worried that some functions will be missing/unavailable?
Also, in the settings, it appears as g970F. How did the seller change it??
I have the same problem i tried to update the phone to the latest sm-g970f rom (figured if it's already installed it's possible)
And non of the roms flashed only when i decided to try latest sm-g970n rom it flashed however i bricked the phone and i have no idea what to do now.

So after digging into the issue since i have the same problem here are my conclusions:
1. The phone is a Korean Variant G970N it is probably a renewed phone and not a new one.
apparently it's okay for an importer to take used phones (from Korea in this case) and replace all the cosmetics but of cause leaving the used MB.
Now here is what you should worry about, in order to flash the G970F Fixed Rom (there is no way you have updates) they used a Custom Kernel which means the phone was rooted and now Knox is tripped (this not reversible).
(Download Phone Info from play store and check knox if it shows 0x1 then your phone warrenty is void and some features won't be available any more for example - Samsung Pay).
So what should you do?
Well if you still have the option i would have demanded my money back!!
One thing that i am perplexed about is how in hell is this legal?!!!
If you no longer have this option or you want to keep the phone you have two option:
1. Flashing Korean Unbranded Firmware (KOO) which is pretty good it doesn't have bloatware or issues as far as i can tell, i only found one down side for it, the phone language selection is small but if you only need English (like any normal Human) then you are golden.
2. Keep the G970F ROM but bare in mind it will receive no updates and no security patches.
I am still looking for a proper way to flash G970F Firmware over G970N for now i haven't found any internet source that will confirm it's even possible.
So how did those importers\sellers did it, they probably flashed it with a Cellphone Lab Software (not Odin solution) and used a custom Kernel to fool Knox, like i said before this is practically a crime and i don't understand how can they sell used phones as new and get away with it!!!!
I had the same suspicions....
I'll try going to the lab that sold the previous owner the device and deal with them tho it looks like I just got scammed...
Sorry to bring this up again but I've just had an idea following JerryRigEverything's video:
What if I transplant SM-G970F components from a broken device that no longer works or in use in my SM-G970N which is supposedly new.
My N device is now bricked for some reason I couldn't solve, though my suspicion is that it has to do with incompatibility with the SIM card I use.
When my device did work, it worked great! ...besides battery issues that are most likely a result of the incompatibility aforementioned.
Will this work? If so, what components do I need? I already know I'll need the logic board but as seen in the video, there are several more antennas, should I just copy what Jerry did?

Hi Vegetto,
I am from India and buy a galaxy S10e from UAE, It is showing G970F in the Phone's about but the problem is It is a G960N. Now, When I see in Sam Phone Info app there is Bootloader version - G970N, PDA Version - G970F, CSC G970F.
It is also a Knox tripped phone. Knox 0/1.
But if I see in Samsung code by typing in keypad *#12580*369#
it showing like all option in Odin:
BL: G970F
AP: G970F
CP: G970F
CSC: G970F
Does this means I can flash new Firmware on the list of SAM Mobile website, with G970F series firmware, It also showing in SAM Phone Info App that there latest firmware G970FXXSEFUL1/G970FOXMEFUJ2/G970FXXSEFUJ2.
I am in India right now.
Please help me, My email Id is -- [email protected]
It actually means you cannot flash SM-G970F the only roms you can flash are G970N.
Also if you want the phone to get security updates you must flash the original phones bootloader version, my suggestion download the G970N KOO firmware it's a global firmware. As for the knox it is tripped and there is nothing you can do about it.

How can I flash the original phone's bootloader version?
Where from I can download the original phone's G970N KOO Firmware and is it official Samsung Firmware?
How are they able to flash G970F? Is it custom Rom or do they use the original one?
I searched that my phone is using G970FXXS4BTB3 firmware which Vietnam XXV and same number found at https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s10e/firmware/SM-G970F/XXV/download/G970FXXS4BTB3/322678/ in an old update in 2020.
So see the attached screenshot, can I flash its latest version with odin. Of course, there is a chinese written in recovery mode installed when I go to its recovery mode for flashing with Odin.
I have a similar problem right now on my Korean S10E. Device is SM-G970N. I need it to be in Turkish. Only Themes item in Settings is in Turkish- very interesting- The rest is in English. App names are mostly Turkish Settings app name is in English.
The bootloader is unlocked but the phone is not rooted, Knox seems not tampered.
Could not start OTA update at first, I have upgraded a few versions from PC via Smartswitch. Just then noticed OTA also started downloading. The rest of the updates went on from the phone until upgrading to 12, there was a message like "All of the updates were not succesful." OTA update no longer responded. This time I turned back to Smart Switch. Update finished this time and finally I am at the latest version.
I only need Turkish in Settings. I used some ADB commands and an app called MoreLocale2. It did not work either. This has to be simple. Turkish exists. Keyboard is Turkish but not Settings. Quick links and most other things are strangely mixed English and Turkish.
How can I enable full Turkish?
