After installing a custom ROM on my Huawei Honor 8 FRD-L04, I've come to find it was incompatible as someone had mislabled it. The problem I am having now is a boot loop, cannot install stock firmware (system, data, cust, vendor errors) I've tried to flash cust, system, and boot. Boot will flash but I keep getting an error with system and cust. I believe it has to deal with reformatting/repartitioning but I am completely at a loss of ideas. I've tried using Multi-Tool but what I need needs usb debugging enabled, and currently all I can load is bootloader and TWRP, so there is no way to allow usb debugging (unless there's an adb command I dont know about?) I don't have the means to taking it for repair, and would prefer not tossing it out so if anyone could kindly assist me with reformatting the partitions via adb or whatnot, I'd really appreciate it! I've looked at other threads in relation, yet not specifically my problem as, well.. here I am...

Guys I'm new to the forum as a writer.
I read threads here since 2013 and until this week all that I want was in one of those.
So let me explain the problem and what I've found and execute.
Device is a XT1033 running 5.0.2 OTA, no mods, bootlocker locked, not rooted, debug off, just an normal user. The device ran out of battery, and when boot up normally after the logo then the black screen (several threads about this), now and then the device boots normally but show an error called process.goggle.phone.com,.
Now what I've done tried to flash various 4.4.4 roms and higher, flash boot.img, flash recovery.img, custom recovery, adb sideload, wipe data, wipe cache, flashall, and nothing seems to even change whats in the emmc.
Currently I´m with unlock bootloader, I used device info and was able to retrieve some info these are in the first picture, I´m @ work right now, but if you guys need I can póst a log of device info.
My doubts are there is a way to enable debug mode from fastboot enviroment?
There is a way to root via some windows/linux tool?
When the device boots ot show mtp @ the windows but thats it, sometimes ot shows a !xt1033 in device manager.
I'll put some images here.
Can anyone help? I've read about blankflash, but not sure if it would work.
I was thinking about an otg solution via fastboot or something else.
Hi folks,
I'm in an odd situation, as my device is the EU 5G variant that before this mess, I believe was on the 10.0.3 OTA. From what I gather, this means fastboot images and MSM tools are scarce, and generally not available for my device. Like an idiot, I pressed on with trying to install the LineageOS 16 build from:
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/guacamole/install
For some reason, the LineageOS rom wouldn't flash through their recovery, so I tried some other ROMS I thought might be compatible to no avail.
After a series of mishaps, I managed to get TWRP to boot and formatted everything, including system. From then, I'm stuck in a bootloader loop without any kind of recovery or OS on either partition.
I can't fastboot boot any boot or recovery images, or fastboot flash boot. Everything just throws up the fastboot screen again, though I feel like this may just be a case of me not understanding the partitions.
I'm at a complete loss. I don't know how MSM tools work or if they exist for my variant.
How can I save my phone?
Thanks in advance

Probably need to flash an entire fast boot rom and then wipe data.
Hi guys Zeph here.
I've just rooted my Redmi Note 4 without any problems. I've tried to install several custom ROMs like HAVOC, Pixel, etc using TWRP but it showed some error I don't know. My backup ROM did not install so I've tried to install Global Stable ROMS from Internet but those were shown as corrupt. I've also tried using fastboot, ADB sideloader but same problems are happening. So basically my phone is just a hollow without any OS. Any solutions please because that is my only phone.
Here are some screenshots..
Can you boot up normally?
If not what happens, when you try?

Sorry when the backup ROM didn't get installed I had completely wiped all data for sake of installing Global custom ROMs. But it still didn't get installed. So my phone is like DOS without any OS.
Oh. Well thats a problem.
First of all:
Go to https://c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?device=1700309
dowload the rom (its a zip) and transfer it to your phone
go to twrp
flash it with twrp
reboot to system
Now if (while booting up) it says "The system has been destroyed":
Just keep booting in twrp, back to system, back to fastboot and repeat for some time and multiple times a day. For some reason thats how you call the autorepair to wake up, it will remove the ROM you just installed and probably install a backup one on its own
If this doesnt work too:
I will suppose you have a pc with fastboot & adb drivers available
Since the phone is alr in deep s***, lets try something quite risky
1)
go to twrp > wipe > format data
2)
connect your phone to pc while in fastboot
and execute these commands
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase cust
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase vendor
CAREFUL: NOW YOUR PHONE IS BRICKED, BUT FIXABLE (probably)
3)
repeat the steps on the top of this message
All this should fix the problem, if not i am sorry but the phone will be unrepairable without any professional technician
Okay so yesterday I decided to finally try to install TWRP to flash a custom rom on the system, but never thought it would give so much headache. My drivers were bad, the system locked and android 11 updating making the phone all sorts of bugs, I was anxious to get rid of it, and I did somehow. I was unable to flash TWRP into the recovery as the system partition type is different than usual for it seems, but the recovery partition was all weird, "no command" was stuck in the screen even after a hard reset through there. So I got Magisk and got Root and used Smart Flash to install TWRP through the running system and it landed successful. But when going to the recovery the TWRP screen was flickering, but I could send ADB commands yet and boot normally, I just couldn't access the recovery functions yet. So I flashed a different version of the TWRP with the IMG and the zip folder and nothing worked then I realized that maybe I should erase the partition before flashing it and then the murder. I found a tutorial on erasing stuff, but the whole process cost me more than twelve hours as I messed with so many things and was kinda learning the hows and dos.
But then I saw the command "fastboot erase system -w" that was a shortcut for all cleanup processes and I was wanting to wipe it again even to recover my google backup and be able to use my messenger apps. But it did erase, of course, the whole system and everything, simply destroying everything, but yet stuck in the fastboot screen. What I did? Well, I downloaded the TGRZ of an older version of xiaomi mi a3 firmware, the android 10, as I was tired and thought that maybe if I downgraded it I would get my phone to get rid of android 11 bugs and sleep for good till tomorrow, that is today. I ran the script to wipe anything and install the system over it and it did successfully, then the message "successfully installed, press any key to finish" but then the prompt closed and the phone tried to reboot but fell into a hard brick. The computer recognizes the device as the name "QUSB_BULK_CID:0411_SN:EFCF04FD" and the hardware ID "USB\VID_05C6&PID_9008" matches the original.
So is there anything I could do yet? Phone warranty ended in january and that's why I tried that process, it is any worth?

I never encountered this issue so only do this if you're absolutely sure you have no other means of flashing anything on it (i.e. through fastboot), and use the appropriate firmware at all times for your specific model

well it seems I recovered it back, I bricked it and somehow it just got into EDL mode without cable or opening it up. So I found a tutorial back on reddit showing how use GFIL to install the stock rom back. I used android 10 stock rom before bricking it, but as I just flashed everything on empty partitions it didn't work, it seems that the Qualcomm setup needs some kind of previous work to set everything up. Anyways I managed to boot it, but now I'm aware that I should use Lineage recovery instead of TWRP as Mi A3 support is lacking, that's why after installing it I got it flickering (no compatible version with the latest Android 11 firmware).

hello, im having maybe a similiar case with my phone (in this case its a MI A3) i installed "succefully" evolution x 6.3 on my phone and everthing was ok with a few bugs, the only problem was that mi cannot connect to internet, so i decided to restart the phone and now my phone just don't turn on, the power button don't respond and i cannot start up my phone and its just a black screen, if u remeber ¿can u pass the tutorial that u saw on reddit? maybe it can help me
So I've been pulling hair for 2 days. I can flash everything fine recovery boots fastboot. But it consistently says no OS on either slots. Tried flashing stock to both went all the way through loading lineage and same thing. I'm at wits end. Also not a single password I put in decrypts data.
Also Metro/Tmob variant xt2131-1 bootloader unlocked.
Have you tied fastboot -w? It sounds like the partitions are messed up.
I have. I've done all of the above just still a persistent boot loop.

Currently retrying to flash stock firmware with a Motorola flashing program. Will let you know here in about 2 min.

Yep. Again boot loop. Says no OS. Stock recovery says last installation failed. Flashing the service flash package to see if that makes a difference. Hopefully because it says it reflashed my bootloader and stock recovery.

The motorola program formats the partitions before flash unlike an automated fastboot flash. The only issue I can see is a physical issue with the UFS/EMMC 5.1 chip, maybe even the ram(very unlikely). Had there been any warning signs such as the phone rebooting randomly or freezing? Motorola has a one year warranty for all devices.
No nothing of the sort. I did a factory reset because I was gonna try out lineage and this is where I'm at now. Still no OS. Even after flashing 3 times. I did have a remote access trojan that rewrote my partition data and resized one and added one and used the root hidden partition to store the data in while it was being transferred.
This drive folder has the system, system_ext, vandor and product of the xt2131-1 that can be flashed in twrp or orangefox. Make sure you make the partitions rw in twrp or OF using 100 rw zip (search for it) then mount as rw in terminal. Flash these images or image, whichever you believe to be needing. Then try and reboot. If all else fails then download the firmware from LMSA and use tinyfastboot tools to flash it. Always worked for me. Let me know how it goes. Heres the link to the files.

!!!!!Make Sure you have verity and verification disabled before trying to flash these. Hence the 100 rw zip is necessary. And must be flashed correctly. 73 error can be flashed with Ubuntu!!!!!!!!
**Edit**
Make sure you always
Fastboot -w then
Factory reset in recovery then format data for a full clean install. This vendor build is made for the boost mobile variant but it is universal. The firmware is incremental based as well so it knows which build to install or activate on the tmo/metro variant. I have all the apps and files for all carriers that have this model.

If this doesnt work you can try a blankfile flash via edl, if that does not work nothing will.

Not at home. Staying the night at my mom's. Get home early tomorrow and I will try the advised steps. I went through my previous flashing steps and am now just missing the persist partition. I'll report back as for the edl mode and I have 2 blank flash files just cannot get into edl mode. Have qfil rsd and motoflashpro

What have you tried thus far? Have you tried fastboot commands to get into edl, I think it may also also a boot menu option in twrp but I don't remember. Also now that I think about, after flashing the firmware(to both lots as you say) have you tried fastboot set_active a (or) b? Also where did you find the firehose file for it, I could not find one on other forums?
So far im downloading the files and will try what you suggested now. I'll let you know in 30 min. But I've tried factory reset. Flash. Formatting then flashing. Blank flash. Formatting then flashing. I've also used fastboot --force -slot=all flash ***. *****. Etc. Tried flashing. Flashing the copy partitions and tried flashing a gsi an aosp. Got to lineages recovery but still the same issue. Some partition are unmountable. At this point now it refuses to charge while off.. and if I do plug it in while off it continues to boot loop from the battery/charging screen.

Sorry to tell you this but the phone is definitely ****ed on a hardware level, no amount of reflashing the firmware will fix that. The partition issue is likely caused by the EMMC/UFS malfunctioning, however the charging issue is definitely not caused by software as the battery has a separate controller. Your best bet would be to replace the motherboard, your phone's warranty is however void anyways since you unlocked the bootloader so you would have to do it yourself.

You can't, the manufacture prevents you from doing so due to "security issues". Make sure you get the latest firmware at https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/denver/official/. This will restore all partitions including vendor and persist as it generates from the modem partition, also android 11 and up does not use regular persist partitions anymore, it is now in the "super" images so don't worry about it. When you extract the latest firmware from this site there will be an XML file, go to https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...e-with-motorola-devices.4042039/post-82186933 and follow the instructions, before flashing made sure to select slot A, after you are done flashing slot A set it to slot B and flash again, then reboot regularly. To set the slot run the fastboot command before flashing, for example fastboot set_active a, flash firmware, fastboot set_active b, flash firmware, reboot.
