XZ Premium SO-04j bootloader unlockable: No - Sony Xperia XZ Premium Questions & Answers

Hello
Unfortunately the japanese version of this phone sold by Docomo has a non unlockable bootloader.
Any solution that might work on android 7.1.1 or 8.0 to root the phone without unlocking the bootloader?
Thanks!

NO.
As far as I can tell there *are* a branch of docomo XZP that can unlock their bootloader.
Check your motherboard first and if it's bootloader cannot be unlocked just buy a G8141/G8142 board.
Oh there's another way maybe: Work in Sony and sign a rooted firmware with their key and then all are happy

Hell Yea!
That's the idea, off i go to work in Sony!
Btw. i've been in all the internet's corners - no wits about anyone who managed unlock bootloader.
However there are some region/sim unlocked ones on ebay - so there is slight chance that the unlock codes will work
I'm also wondering if there's effective way to get rid of DOCOMO bloatware...

You *can* get rid of docomo bloatware easily with adb and developers mode. That's not a problem and to be honest that's a reason I like sony.
But as far as I can tell, the only "unlock" you can do on these devices is just pluging any SIM card and working on LTE. That's It.

Well as far as I can tell, JP sony phones can use adb to kill bloatware. Maybe it's your cable or pc

It absolutely is possible, and absolutely does not need root. For those saying its not possible without root, can you please explain to me why this video shows me doing it??? @roydok Its possible and easy!
This is a factory wipe on a fresh firmware unrooted with status showing as Official and root checker showing no root.
https://youtu.be/c7BuS5EF3Yk
PS please excuse my dickish attitude in the video. Drinking with the Irish brings the nasty out in me
The procedure does not work on my dual SIM G920FD Duos S6 no matter how many times I try entering any of the 2 IMEIs of my S6. I guess root is the only way for me to change CSC.

It seams there is the caveat. We sorry saps in Canada haven't been given the 5.1.1 update. We're the bastard redheaded step child of the S6 community. They must have locked it down in 5.1.1. When we finally get it here I'll let you know what I find out.

I had my sprint S6E DSU'ed successfully by him. It's legit & the whole process was super quick. I tested with my Straight Talk AT&T SIM card from my Nexus 5X. Thx to Sprint gimping the phone, no band 17 LTE but HSPA worked just fine. Thx @stifilz !

Excellent, sir. Quick to respond, quick to unlock. Thanks again!
Excellent! We had a few issues with my SM-G925P but it worked in the end. I recommend updating to the latest stock firmware and rooting your phone with Unikernel. We had issues trying to unlock it on rooted OF7 and trying to unlock it on stock OI7.
Otherwise, totally legit and definitely works. Will post proof if anyone has doubts.

Hello, I have unlocked my phone with GCpro using the Sprint Unlock feature. It now reads the SIM and gets Text and Calls but no data. I get the LTE: ESM -33 EMM-x error message. Unable to establish a wireless data connection. I am trying to use G925p on Att. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get it working data wise? Thank you.
Did you set it to GSM/UMTS mode in Settings? Also, did you add the AT&T APN? My S6E worked fine on AT&T. No band 17 LTE but I did get HSPA+.

Please Help!! L09 stuck in bootloop

I really hope someone can help me. I like many, tried to update my ascend mate 7 to Marshmallow from B331 and it failed and I am now stuck in bootloop. My phone is not rooted and the bootloader is not unlocked. I have tried to get an unlock code from Huawei twice to unlock the bootloader, and I haven't been successful. I have tried to flash a handful of firmwares and have been unsuccessful. I even tried to flash a stock ROM and that failed. I don't know what to do. I don't know anything about rooting, it's completely foreign to me. I can't afford to buy another phone and I can't really afford to send this in for repair. Someone please help!!

I posted in that thread asking for someone to help me get a code to unlock my bootloader. I have looked at the other thread before, I don't know enough to follow those instructions, I think. Does anyone know of another way to fix this? Or do I have to wait for Huawei to release a rollback firmware?

How Do I Root Samsung S7 from Tmobile USA?

Whats the best way to root a Galaxy J7 from tmobile USA, model SM-J700T?
I thought I would have this j7 rooted already myself.
Ran into fastboot issues like in the V10 forums after mm update. Seems fastboot oem unlock is disabled yet you can click to unlock in developers? Kinda of pisses me off about that. Everyone blamed LG for that but now I see a 2nd T-Mobile phone with same issue.

Yeah the J7 is good for the price without all the bells and whistles. I am seriously thinking of returning it for a refund and getting a Note 5.
I can understand that. I didn't get a note partly because since i want to remove as much samsung software as possible, it makes the s-pen almost unusable therefore a waste of the extra money. Also, i am little impressed with this device for the money. Had it been only 1-1 1/2 gig of ram like the other models I'd pass on it.

Root and more on J7 Star for Tmobile (SM-J737T)?

Does anyone know anything useful on rooting a J7 Star (SM-J737T) from Tmobile? How about for getting a builds of TWRP and LineageOS for it?
Following this thread. I'm very interested on the information you seek.
I just spoke to one of the top contributors to TWRP that did the Galaxy a8 and he may do the j737. I'm sure if we donate it will give him more of an incentive !

Try building a cf autoroot file for your device and flash it. Make sure frp is disabled. If it fails to flash the bootloader is locked just saying but if it does flash your good. That is always the first test you should do before going for custom roms and recoveries. Update: this phone is so new that it isn't listed on firmware.mobi
