I'm rooted. I want to know whats the file or folder to backup my chat conversations and contacts in wechat? I plan to factory reset and restore my phone. I want to make sure all my contacts and conversations are intact after I restore.

I'm sick and tired of loosing my conversations whenever I want to flash a new ROM. I've heard there are ways around that, but I do not know any of them.
Try "SMS Backup & Restore" in the market. It allows you to save all your texts to your SD card and then reload them. And if you have any more questions, please direct them to the Q & A Section - this section is meant for development purposes.
Peace
I use Titanium Backup to backup my both messages and Handcent. When I restore those 2 things everything is back where I can use it for blackmail
I just wish dialer would back up too.

For dialer use Call Logs Backup & Restore, made by the same person who made the aforementioned SMS Backup & Restore.
Here is the SMS Backup/Restore - http://www.appbrain.com/app/sms-backup-restore/com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore
Call Log Backup/Restore - http://www.appbrain.com/app/call-logs-backup-restore/com.riteshsahu.CallLogBackupRestore
I have not tried call log backup, but if it's anything like SMS, then it won't disappoint

u should definately use titanium backup for this.
sms backup and restore is so slow if u have lots of messages as it restores 1 message at a time.
another vote for SMS Backup & Restore. I use this for my text, my apps are backed up with appbrain (and a few I keep handy with ASTRO backup), and everything else is synced in the land of google.
why not just NAND before flashing. It should save your conversations(sms)...then flash the old rom. It does like that for me.

...what? If you restore a Nandroid you lose all of your current settings/ROM.
SMS Backup+ is great as well.

I use SMS Backup to backup my txt messages to my gmail account. It seems development on this app has ended but a new developer has created an app called SMS Backup+ with the same funcationality as SMS Backup plus the ability to restore the backed up conversations to your phone (though I have not tried this). He is also working on adding the ability to back up your MMS as well.
A second option is to install the latest version of Handcent. One can now create a Handcent account (on their website for free) which allows users to back up their messages and all their Handcent settings.
Whenever I flash a new ROM, i make sure i backed up everything with titanium backup, including call log, sms, contact etc.
But after i restore my backups, some of my contacts are not linked to their facebook/skype accounts, though they were linked when i did the backup.
Does anybody know how to backup these contacts links with titanium backup or any other way?
Thanks!

Don't the contacts re-link once you install and sign into Skype and facebook for the first time? Mine always seem to re-link after re installing the app that has linking. I do seem to have to install those linked apps from the marketplace and not via the backup.
I'm pretty sure crushalot has it right. Facebook only links to your contacts and does not actually modify them. So you would need to re-establish that link through facebook.
Here is an interesting article about google's stance on the way facebook keeps your contact info locked up in facebook.
http://venturebeat.com/2011/02/22/google-facebook-android-contacts/
I should have mentioned it: some of my contacts are re-linked. but some of them don't.
I have contacts which their google name is unrelated to the facebook name (at google's contacts the name is a nickname, at facebook it's the real name).
Anyways, i didn't figure out the 'rule' by which the re-link with facebook works, all i know is that after i flash a new ROM and restore apps+data+settings using titanium backup, not all of my contacts are re-linked to their facebook profile.
When I log back into my Google and Facebook, after a while it randomly notifies me I have more contacts to link, sometimes I have to wait a while after everything syncs and it just randomly appears in my notifications. I always seem to have a few that never link back up... not sure why either.
I've installed Whatsapp on a new phone, and during installation all messages and photos were restored to the phone from the backup in Google Drive. Now I want to delete all photos from the Whatsapp folder on the phone, because they occupy a lot of space.
The question is whether during the daily automatic backup of Whatsapp to Google Drive, the same deleted images will also be deleted from the backup? i.e. will deletion be synchronized, or maybe the photos will be restored to the device from the backup?
I don't want them to be restored to my phone again, but I do want them to remain backed up in Google Drive so if I'll install Whatsapp on another device in the future, I'll be able to also restore the photos if I want.
I want to backup the whatsapp data in separate folder for each contact. So if want to search something so i can straight go to the contact folder and search there. is there any app out their that can do this

If you have an iCloud backup from before you deleted the messages, you can restore the iCloud backup.
Or, you can contact your carrier to see if they can restore your messages.
Other than that, you're probably out of luck.

I don't take any backup on the iCloud account. How can I retrieve my text messages without backup?

Read carefully, I answered your question with the 2 options that you have. The backup is not the only option that I mentioned.
Yes, you can recover your deleted text messages from iCloud backup or iTunes backup. But if your deleted messages have become overwritten then, there will no chance to again restore them. Otherwise, you can also try iPhone data recovery software to retrieve lost messages, photos, contacts, notes and many more. You can see the preview of deleted items before recover them if the deleted files has not damaged.
Sorry for the delayed reply. If you still not solve the problem, try pro iPhone data recovery software like Dr.fone, iMyFone D-Back,Apeaksoft iPhone Data Recovery, Coolmuster iPhone Data Recovery, etc. Such software can help you recover deleted text messages from your iPhone directly without backup. But before that, you need to make sure they are not overwritten by new data. And the easiest way is taking backup of your iPhone in advance, then you will never worry about that. Hope this will be your help.
